Boston & District Canine Society

My sincere thanks to the committee for their invitation to judge and for their warm hospitality throughout the day. I was ably assisted by an excellent steward Donna Kirkwood-Emery and her daughters, whose efficiency helped the day run smoothly. Thank you to all the exhibitors for supporting the show and for accepting my decisions with such good grace. It was a pleasure to judge your exhibits, which were presented in excellent condition and made for an enjoyable appointment.

Special Yearling

1 Stainsby's Cloudside Alphine Sunset with Carmenote. 16months dog. Attractive youngster of good breed type, presenting a balanced outline with a pleasing length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Refined head with the desired long, clean appearance, dark eye and well carried ears. Good depth of chest for age and nicely developed forechest. Correct length of body with moderate tuck-up and a correct set tail carried in the characteristic ring. Moved well when settled, he was definitely feeling his feet today. A promising yearling who combines elegance with substance and should continue to strengthen and mature over the coming months. One to watch for the future.

Limit

1 Drage's Shimalma Drambuie Isjulees. Presented a balanced and aristocratic outline. Long, refined head with pleasing expression, dark eye and correctly placed ears. Excellent reach of neck flowing into well laid shoulders, level topline. Deep chest and good tuck up. Moved with style and effortless reach and drive, maintaining a strong topline. A quality exhibit deserving of the class.

2 James' Katanga's Captain America. Presenting a balanced outline with good substance without losing elegance. Head of good proportions with dark eye and correct expression. Good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders, level topline and correctly set tail. Well bodied with adequate depth of chest and pleasing rear angulation. Stood well and gave a sound impression.

1 Hills & Thornton's Absolute Afghans Djibouti at Karnak JW ShCEx OSW (Imp Nor). Presented in excellent coat and condition. Balanced outline with masculine head, dark eyes and good expression. Correct length of neck flowing in to well laid shoulder. Level topline and good spring of rib but not over done. Moved soundly and owned the ring with his presence. BOB

1 Hills' Rangali Anna with Shimmeree. Attractive bitch of pleasing breed type with a balanced outline and workmanlike appearance. Well proportioned head with a kind expression, dark eye and correctly set ears. Good length of neck flowing into well placed shoulders, level topline and correct tail carriage. Good depth of chest, ribbing and moderate tuck up. Straight forelegs with sufficient bone and compact feet. Harsh, dense jacket of good texture and rich fauve colouring, presented in excellent condition. Moved soundly and with purpose covering the ground well. BOB

2 Hills' Rangali Gretel at Shimmeree. Feminine head with a kind expression and well set ears, would like a slightly darker eye. Good reach of neck, adequate depth of chest and well ribbed. Harsh jacket of good texture, presented in good order. Stood well and showed confidently throughout. Moved soundly.

1 Townsend's Overbecks Esme Shelby at Roxastan. Attractive exhibit of good breed type, presenting a balanced outline with pleasing proportions throughout. Dark expressive eye and correctly carried ears. Strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders, level topline and good length of body, with adequate depth of chest. Correct harsh, weather resistant coat, presented in good order. Tail well set and carried confidently, completing the overall picture. Moved freely and soundly, covering the ground with purpose while maintaining a firm topline.

1 Townsend's Afterglow Curtain Call Avec Roxastan. Mature exhibit of excellent breed type with a balanced, workmanlike outline and plenty of breed character. Typical head with good proportions, dark expressive eye and correctly set, well furnished ears. Strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders, firm, level topline and well ribbed body with good depth of chest. Correct harsh, weather resistant coat of good texture, presented in excellent condition. Moved freely and with purpose, maintaining a firm topline and displaying the sound, effortless action expected of the breed. BOB
