1st, Walker and Roberts Seaheart Frida at Gloi JW: 18 months old who is a very feminine, balanced bitch with clean head, kind expression, good neck and shoulders, level topline and strong quarters. Moved freely with reach and drive, with good flat coat deserved her BOB.

 2nd Mantle’s Rhiewvalley Ain’t Guilty: Masculine dog with pleasing outline, good head and expression, firm topline and sound movement. Not quite the finish or freedom of 1 today.

Pleasing exhibit with good breed character and substance. Head of correct type with expressive eye and well-placed ears. Compact body with good ribbing and sound quarters. Brown coat of correct curl and texture. Moved steadily, but not quite the overall balance and finish of the winner on the day.

Good quality Lagotto with pleasing outline . Well-proportioned head with good eye and typical expression. Compact body with decent substance and muscling. Coat correct in curl and texture. Moved soundly, though not quite as positive or settled on the move as the class winner.

1st Roberts Eald Wolf Moon Over Swansford

Very promising youngster with much to like. Presents a pleasing long, low outline with good substance and bone for age. Typical head developing well, with kind eye and soft Sussex expression. Good depth of body, firm topline and well-set tail. Moved soundly and steadily once settled with that distinctive Sussex roll over the shoulders showing good reach and drive for a puppy. Coat of pleasing rich liver colour and in good condition. Should mature on well. BP and BOB

2nd — Hipgrave’s Eald Harvest Moon

Another promising puppy . Litter brother to 1 and larger in size. Pleasing head and expression, good bone and feet, with sufficient length of body and depth for age. Not quite as settled or as finished as the winner today, and still needs to strengthen a little in movement, but has good Sussex character and was well presented. A puppy with plenty of time on his side.

1st Davey’s Eald Stands With Fist

A sound, workmanlike Sussex of pleasing type. Good long, low outline, strong bone and well-developed body. Feminine head with kind expression, good ear set and correct depth of muzzle. Well sprung ribs, firm through the back and strong over the loin. Moved truly with steady, positive action and held the topline well. Coat of correct colour and texture. A typical exhibit with good overall balance. (RBOB)

2nd — Davey’s Eald Village Urchin

Pleasing exhibit with good substance. Attractive head and soft expression, good depth through the body and well ribbed. Strong quarters and good coat colour. Just preferred the winner’s overall balance and more positive movement today, but this one has many breed virtues and was shown in good condition.

Quality Sussex Spaniel with excellent breed type and balance. Presents the desired long, low, level outline with strength and substance, without coarseness. Typical head with good skull and muzzle, kind eye and soft expression. Good reach of neck into well-laid shoulders, deep body, well-sprung ribs and firm topline. Strong bone and neat feet. Moved with the distinctive roll over the shoulders truly and with good drive, maintaining his outline throughout. Rich golden liver coat completed the picture. A worthy class winner. Pushed hard for top awards

2nd Penneman & Wakefield’s Ned/Lux/Bel/Int ShCh Eald Village Temptress for Norris

Good type and substance, with a pleasing outline and well-developed body. Attractive head properties, kind expression and good ear set. Well ribbed, strong through the loin and presented in good coat and condition. Not quite the freedom and balance of movement of the winner today, but a sound and typical Sussex with much to admire Still looking good for 10 yrs of age

Masculine dog of good substance. Strong head good depth of flew, good neck and body length, with well-muscled quarters. Well-presented bitch with a good coat and pleasing overall make and shape. Short backed and deep chested, Moved steadily, but first had a little more balance and animation today.

Orange and white dog: Mature, well-balanced boy with good substance and presentation. Stop is well defined without being overdone and pronounced occupit. Slightly dish faced and with good leathering. Shoulder long and sloping with plenty of heart room . muscular hindquarters and with good angulations, built on flowing lines pleased to award him BOB

2 Collins Collholme Angelique

Another lovely bitch almost white in colour ,good stop and correct ear set. Not quite the lay of shoulder as 1 good depth of rib and moderate tuck up. Did not move as well as winner.

Before I continue with my write ups, I would like to thank all the exhibitors that gave me such a large entry in the following stakes classes. I found a lot of quality in these classes but can only award 5 places in each class.

 10-month-old Border Collie of good type, well balanced for age. Pleasing head and expression, correct outline, and sound movement. Still immature, as expected, but developing well with good potential.

2) Staley’s Jomeel Quicksilver

8-month-old GSP puppy with a pleasing outline and good breed type. Attractive head and expression, clean neck into well-laid shoulders. Good topline for age, balanced angulation front and rear, and developing body substance. Moves freely with promise, though still needs time to mature and strengthen. Presented in good coat and condition

15-month-old Large Munsterlander, well-grown youngster with a pleasing outline and good breed type. Attractive head with kind expression, good neck and topline. Well-marked coat, developing body and substance for age. Moved soundly when settled, though still a little youthful in finish. Promising dog with plenty to like.

2 ) Brown and Smith’s Tamalden All Eyes on Me (white Swiss Shepherd)

17-month-old male, good type and proportions. Masculine head with pleasing expression, correct ears and good pigmentation. Nice neck and topline, body still developing with age. Balanced angulation, sound movement, well presented.

2 )Blake’s Crème Anglaise’s Too Hot to Handle For Mazargo JW (imp Ned)

 Whippet bitch of lovely type, feminine and elegant, with a pleasing outline. Attractive head with soft expression, good length of neck and clean shoulders. Nice depth of chest and graceful underline, Stright bladed forelegs, with balanced angulation front and rear. Moved soundly with ease and showed well. A quality bitch well presented.

10-year-old Bearded Collie bitch A feminine veteran bitch of pleasing type, carrying a good coat and presented in nice condition. She has a kind expression, good overall outline and moved steadily around the ring. Showing her age a little, but still sound and happy, and a very worthy 2nd place

12-month-old Smooth Fox Terrier, Smart young dog with a pleasing outline and good terrier character. Nice head and expression, clean coat and well presented. Still maturing in body but shows good balance for his age. Moved well enough and handled nicely. A worthy 2nd place.

1) Leavesley and Richardson’s Lizoni Modry Fantasie

15-month-old Smooth Collie ,A very promising young dog of pleasing type, shown in good condition and presented well. He has a balanced outline with good length of body and a clean, athletic appearance. Attractive head and expression, with a kind eye and alert, intelligent look. Ears well placed, giving a typical Collie expression. His smooth coat was in excellent condition, with attractive blue merle colouring and clear markings. On the move he showed sound, free action with good reach and drive, holding his outline well.

2 Hughes’ Ribblepride Kruger JW

17-month-old Lancashire Heeler A young dog of pleasing breed type, still maturing but with plenty to like. Compact and well balanced in outline, with a good length of body and a pleasing topline when settled. Masculine head with a bright, alert expression and good dark eye. Ears well carried, adding to his typical Heeler character. Good strength of muzzle and correct black and tan markings. A promising youngster who just needs time and experience to finish. Awarded 2nd today as he was not quite as settled or complete as the winner, but he has lots of quality and should continue to improve with maturity.
