Wiveliscombe and District Canine Society 11/01/2026
I had a really lovely day judging for the society and I wanted to say a huge thank you to my wonderful stewards who worked tirelessly throughout the day with only a very short break after I took on some extra terrier breeds due to the judges non availability. Thank you also to those exhibitors who waited all day for their classes to take place following a change in the order of judging which was unfortunately unavoidable. How nice to see others volunteering to help in the ring in order to get to the days finals just a little quicker. Also an enormous thank you to the society, not only for the invitation but for what has to be one of the best judges gifts I have ever received and opening all the little packages was like having Christmas all over again and by the time this critique is published Im sure the blackcurrant and sloe gin jam will have been completely demolished !
My award for BIS went to the cracking Papillion Panspayon Natasha JW, I loved the attitude and expression on this girl who I thought possessed so many attributes of the breed, she has a beautiful head with large well fringed ears, she stands true on dainty bone and lovely feet and moves out freely and easily RBIS was the Malamute Kaskae Show Me Monet avec Keighanya, a big strong lad who I can imagine is a bit of a handful at times, he has plenty of bone and was presented in excellent coat and condition, a real powerhouse on the move displaying strong rear drive BPIS was the Aussie Always On Point at Rezzini NAF TAF, a gorgeous tri b in lovely coat, I really liked her body shape and balance and she moved out accurately with good reach and drive, so beautifully handled to get the best of her here today, RBPIS was the Schnauzer Odivane Brotherhood of Man, such a smart p/s lad, cobby and solid to go over with a good head and eye and moving with plenty of drive holding his topline.
