Thank you to the society for inviting me to judge BIS at this lovely event. Praise must go to the very small committee for its organisation and execution, there were a couple of little blips but all in all a very enjoyable day. Grateful also to my stewards for helping to keep the rings running smoothly.

In a very strong line up my choice for BIS was the beautiful Weimaraner Enjager Elegance For Brownbank JW, a most appropriate name for this lovely 22 mth b. She has a super outline with a good length of body and a ribcage that extends well back, she is firm in topline and well angulated front and rear, on the move she covered the ground so smoothly and easily with a good length of stride and plenty of drive, all wrapped up in a pale silver coat, a very striking exhibit. RBIS was the Bearded Collie Talraz Drumbeat For Lyngem JW a 17 mth d presented in super coat and condition, he has a lovely head and large eyes exuding a soft expression, well laid shoulders and a firm level topline carried on the move. He looked a so beautiful as he moved out around the ring with his coat flowing around him. BPIS was the Bedlington Terrier Maevani Huntress Of Spica an 8 mth b with a very nice outline and a feminine head of good length, shapely in body with correct rise in topline and plenty of tuck up, very light on her feet as she moved and fairly well together for her age. RBPIS was the very smart Min Pin Vickstock I Love To Boogie, an 8 mth b who is so smart on the stack, I loved her head and keen expression and she is fairly square in body with a straight slightly sloping topline to high set tail and well angulated quarters, an accurate mover showing enough lift in front. BVIS was the Keeshond CH Divnyi Drug Dar (Imp Rus) this 7 yr d was put through by myself earlier and still showing his socks off to win this award. RBVIS was the Bracco Sh CH Owlspoint Trouble Again JW SHC.Ex OSW VW, a handsome solidly built 7 yr d, well boned and almost square in outline, in muscular condition and covering the ground with excellent reach and drive.

This is the 2nd JW heat I have judged over the years and it is always full of quality dogs making decisions really tough as there were more than just 5 here today that I would have liked to put through! WHIPPETS P (1,1) Y (1) 1 Powells Cavebrown Puck an 18mth b/w d with a pleasing shape overall, lovely dark eye and long neck, deep in brisket with muscular hindquarters, very sound in profile but could still strengthen a little in hock PG (5,2) 1 Salkeld and Graham Dalerafenn River Of Dream a fawn/brindle d with a lovely head, eye and such a kind expression, good length of neck, slightly arched into well aid shoulders, he stands true in front on straight forelegs and strong pasterns, shapely in body with topline rising slightly over the loin and well developed in the rear, an accurate and true mover 2 Ellams Frontrunners Encore For Clionyx (Imp Dnk a 2 yr brindle/white who is slightly bigger all through than the winner, typical head with a well shaped eye giving a kind expression, good depth of brisket and correct tuck, hindquarters are well developed but he is just a little weak in pasterns which showed on the go around 3 Hopes Flerrow Rydings Romances O (5) 1 and BOB Robinsons Indian Chief At Tarward this fawn d has the most beautiful outline and is well angulated both ends, lean head with dark oval eye, slightly arched neck down to straight forelegs and slightly sloping pasterns, he has good width to his hindquarters and is well developed in 2nd thigh, hocks are strong and well let down and on the move he goes forward freely and accurately 2 Ellams Demerlay Angel Eyes For Clionys a feminine fawn/white b with a beautiful lean head and dark oval eyes, elegant neck, a good depth of chest and well sprung ribs, she is muscular in the rear with strong low set hocks, pushed hard for the class but I just preferred the length of stride of the winner today 3 Salkeld and Graham Dalerafenn Follow A Dream JW

AVNSC HOUND P (1,1) Y(1,1) O (2,1) 1 and BAVNSC Hound Townsends PBGV Afterglow Curtain Call Avec Roxastan 6 yr d presented in a good rough coat harsh to the touch, pleasing head with large eye and an endearing expression, strong neck and a good length of body with ribs extending well back, goes forward well with good reach and drive

IR HOUND P (1) 1 Middletons BBDG Caelestibleu Jean Luc an up to size male with a masculine head and good length of foreface with eyes giving a typical sorrowful expression, strong neck and a good topline, still needs to come together behind but very sound in profile O (2,1) 1 and BIR H Middletons BBDG Caelistibleu Suede Shoes I have judged this smart 2 yr b before and liked her, she has a super head and expression and lovely long ears, she is well developed in front with good prosternum and stands on strong legs and good feet, body is well ribbed and topline firm and she carries herself so well on the move.

HOUND GROUP 1 Afghan Hound Am CH Suni Sky Full O’Stars By Sumahari SHC.Ex (Imp USA) presented in super coat and condition albeit a little windswept, this 4 elegant yr d is very impressive on the move covering the ground smoothly with a spring in his stride 2 BBDG Caelistibleu Suede Shoes (see breed critique)3 Beagle Madika Shine On JW a very pretty tri b who is nicely balanced and stands on strongly boned foreleg and compact feet, she has a good depth of chest and strong topline and is a sound mover displaying good rear drive 4 PBGV Afterglow Curtain Call Avec Roxastan (see breed critique)

HOUND PUPPY GROUP 1 Beagle Kingswin Brenda Lee I have judged this young b before and liked her, she needs to develop in head a little more but she has a super overall shape and is developing nicely with ample forechest, well boned forelegs, neat feet and a good topline both stacked and on the move 2 Basset Hound Diheath Crackerjack For Kejana a chunky young tri d who would benefit from carrying a little less weight, however he has a lot of the breed characteristics including a lovely head with good planes, prominent occiput and excellent ears, body is long with a good turn of stifle and he is a sound mover although he could make a little more effort 3 BBDG Caelestibleu Jean Luc

AV Hound P (3,2) 1 Caelestibleu Jean Luc J (3,2) 1 Borzoi Sukeshi Hot Dancer At Keanver O (8,6) 1 PBGV Overbecks Esme Shelby At Roxastan a nicely balanced b with a good head shape and large kind eye, she stands on short strong legs and tight feet, body is of moderate length with depth to chest and muscular well angled hindquarters and she moved out freely2 Whippet Batnoir Lady Victoria rising 5 this b is feminine with a lovely arched neck and good shoulders, she has depth through the chest is well muscled in the rear but could stride out just a little more V (5) 1 LHD Ranglewood Lantana At Kejana 11 yr b/t d who was very impressive for his age and was sporting a quality coat, good conical head with well set ears and dark eye, whilst he was carrying a few extra lbs around the middle these did not affect his topline and he moved soundly enough around the ring 2 Whippet Tarward Ginetta a shapely 10 yr b with a pretty head and lovely arched neck, good front and topline with plenty of tuck and well angulated quarters, moved out soundly 3 Afghan Am CH Suni Asia Wish Upon A Star by Sumahari SHCM SCHEX VW (imp USA)

FRENCH BULLDOGS What a lovely entry, thank you all ! P (5) 1 and BPIB Wards Oschalben Oh My a 7 mth pied b and an absolute delight to judge, full of confident and compact in outline, her head is developing nicely with short defined muzzle and correct bite, she has good width in front and ample spring of rib for her age, on the move she is free and very well together for her age 2 Fawcetts Chelmbull Fool Me Once At Zilnor 6 mth brindle/white b with a lovely head and expression and medium sized bat ears, short strong neck, compact body and moderate hind angulation, also very sound on the move and a close decision for the class 3 Handley-Sawyer Nortilly Stand To Deliver PG (9,3) 1 Wards Oschalben Odessa brindle b with a compact outline, pleasing head with flat skull and well set bat ears, strong neck, good width in front and standing on small neat feet, well sprung ribs, best mover in the class, 2 Foleys Éclair Cerera De Elka Gyvybes Zyme For Leyenda, a 19mth brindle d, cobby in outline with a square head and a lovely dark eye, good width in front with well sprung ribs and muscular hindquarters, not quite as strong behind as the winner today 3 Banks Leyenda Mr Tumble O (3) 1 and BOB Woods Zimblistic Spooky Charm Delightbull a 2 yr pied d with a strong and masculine head who presents a pleasing shape over all, cobby in body narrowing behind the ribs with a firm topline and moderately angulated hindquarters, a very good mover who was sound all ways 2 Youngs Leyendas Bedazzled I loved the head on this 2 year dog, he has well set bat ears, dark round eyes and a lovely expression, short strong neck and forelegs set well apart, good spring of rib and firm hindquarters but just a fraction longer cast than the winner, moved out very well 3 Hutchinsons Oschalben Olympus JW

TIBETAN TERRIER P (2) 1 and BP Thomas Kelmorespitz Dark Magic JW this youngster was presented in beautiful coat and condition, pleasing head and dark eye, strong neck, almost square in outline with a firm topline leading to well a set tail carried correctly on the move and effortless in his action covering the ground freely and easily 2 Cowens Kelmorespitz Love You More At Anderoco rather unsettled today but much to like, she has an attractive head and dark eye, ample depth of chest and a reasonable topline to correct tail, I did catch glimpses of true movement and I am sure with bit more schooling they will make a good team PG (0) O (3) 1 and BOB Thomas Kelmorespitz’s War OF Roses 20mth b/w b presented in very good coat, feminine with a medium length of skull and defined stop, muscular neck and good shoulders, well furnished limbs fore and aft and moving out smoothly and easily 2 Metcalfes Pippalata Overtime Magic what shame this b/w b didn’t like the ground as I thought she was beautiful, she has a lovely head and eye, slightly arched neck into good shoulders, mature in body with depth to chest and a firm topline to a high set well carried tail, sadly she was rather unwilling to show off her movement today 3 Gents Moonlighting With Miteng

AVNSC UTILITY P (3) 1 Brunts Keeshond Zandvoort Wind In Her Hair, at not quite 7 mths she shows much promise and was an absolute delight to judge, wedge head just right for age with dark eye and defined spectacles, almost square in body with a good lay of shoulder and level topline, moved well for one so young 2 Rogersons Spitz Mittel Nosregor Fallen Idol 9 mth black d with pleasing outline, good wedge head with neat ears and dark eye, moderate length of neck and a firm topline to high set tail, a sound mover all ways but needs to tighten a little in front 3 Bennetts JAI Seijitsu Chikahiko Y (2,1) Davis JAI Kimetsu Ayuki Kori Go Kasaishiro 16mth d who is moderately boned all through, he is broad enough in skull with defined stop and well furred triangular ears, he stands true in front on round feet with elbows held close and ample width in front, tail is well curled and he moved out soundly and efficiently with a moderate length of stride PG (4,1) 1 Rogersons Tispitza’s Damned By Rumour OF Nosregor Spitz Mittel 15 mth a shapely cream, good head shape with moderate stop and high set ears, straight forelegs and strong pasterns, almost square in body with moderate hind angulation, moved soundly with nice brisk strides D 2 Kimetsu Ayuki Kori Go Kasaishiro 3 Brooks Kooiker Middanwinter Trojan Horse O (3,1) 1 and BAVNSC Guys Middanwinter War Horse At Kerelkoor JW 2 yr d this is a lovely example of the breed, he has a super head with clean fitting lips and a dark almond shaped eye, moderate length of neck into well laid shoulders , firm and level topline toa well furnished tail and on the move he covers the ground with a light and springey action 2 Brooks Kooiker Papiloi Time Out 8 yr d this boy should not be disgraced by coming 2nd here as he is also a very nice specimen and so sound on the move, pleasing head and eye, strong body with well sprung ribs and was presented in muscular condition, was pleased to place him well in a good veteran class later in the day.

AV IR UTILITY P (1) 1 and BIR and BPIR Junkova Chinaskys Bomb Shell At Delalunas At her first show and a little overawed by her surroundings but she has a nice wedge head tapering towards the muzzle, she is moderately angulated fore and aft and her body was smooth and warm to the touch, movement was a little erratic to start with but she did settle down in the later classes.

UTILITY GROUP 1 Dalmatian A Spottified Young Forseti For Perdita’s JW (imp Bel) What an absolute showman this young liver dog is, he is so well balanced and clean in outline with an excellent head and use of ears, strong neck and level topline and whilst he can still firm up a little behind, his profile action is super as he covers the ground smoothly with unwavering strides, what an exciting prospect he is and I had no hesitation in putting him through the JW heat later in the day. 2 F/Bulldog Zimblistic Spooky Charm Delightbull (see breed critique) 3 JAI Vormund Million Reasons At Brackreef 15mth b with a lovely head and expression, cheeks are well developed and eyes small and dark, she has good shoulders and close fitting elbows with a firm back line and just the right amount of angulation behind, on the move she is very light on her feet 4 Lhasa Apso Alamiks Shine With Pride With Orcavoe 14mth b with a lovely long coat, pleasing head and eye, slightly arched neck and good topline to high set tail carried over the back, carries herself well on the move going freely around the ring.

AV O (7,4) 1 Chow Songshijia Chief Kwangchow JW well boned and of good size this red dog is very impressive on the stack, he has a handsome head and well shaped eyes and stands on lovely tight feet, moved out steadily with gait 2 F/Bulldog Leyendas Bedazzled (see breed critique) 3 Dalmatian Bellahound Tipple At Portunes JW

AV Vet ( 8,4) 1 and BV, BVIS Keeshond CH Divnyi Drug Dar (imp Rus) this is a stunning looking dog who is so well constructed, his compact in outline with an wedge head excellent head with expressive eyes and small neat ears, good depth through the chest with a firm topline and high set well curled tail, on the move he is brisk and accurate and was presented in super coat and condition, I could not deny him BVIS later in the day as he is absolute quality from tip to toe 2 Kooiker Papikoi Time Out (see NSC critique) 3 Chow Peter Parker At Namhrot
