The Anglian Boxer Club  

5th September 2026 Open Show

I would like to thank the Anglian Boxer Club Committee for inviting me to judge their Boxer breed open show held in conjunction with the Trent Boxer Club Open show. I was very happy with the entry but understood reasons for the absentee rate due to multiple shows being held over a short period of time. This did not detract from the quality of the entries present-with thanks to all their owners. Thank you to my lovely steward who kept the ring flowing.

Baby Puppy Dog (0)

Baby Puppy Bitch (1) 

1st Murfin & Cobbledick Farvalley Mini Mix & Best Baby Puppy in Show. Promising Brindle and White bitch at one with her handler. Pretty head with dark eyes. Wide nares. Correct ear carriage. Lovely arched neck leading into a sloping topline. Square outline with tight cat like feet. Moved well for a young puppy and enjoyed her day out.

1st Spencer Ashronsha Mr Lover Lover. Tall upstanding brindle and white dog. Clean head with a kind expression with dark eye & good mouth. Stood square on tight catlike feet. Good angulation fore and rear. Moved well but lost out to his litter sister in the challenge as his movement was close behind.

Junior (1)

1st Brooks & Tooby Jimi Hendrix at Jinnybrux. Stood alone in his class however as I turned around in the ring I saw a proud boxer who simply demanded my attention! A pleasure to go over and one I would have loved to have taken home with me! He is a lovely red and white boxer who has so much to like. He has a lovely clean head and uses his super ear set to excel his super expression. He has mischievous tight, dark eyes, wide nares, super wide tight mouth. He excels in bone. His lovely arched neck leads into his withers, gentle sloping topline into bang on tail set. He is in well-muscled, super hard condition. Good angulation fore and rear with a lovely depth of brisket and evident fore chest. He powered around the ring in both his class and in the challenge & could not be denied Best in Show.

Yearling Dog (1)

1st Renshaw-Turner & Turner Newlaithe Northern Soul at Sonshoby 18month old brindle and white male of medium size but & square. Super melting expression with those typical dark kind eyes. Wide bite with spot on lip placement, coupled with large open nares. Stood on tight feet. Evident forechest with a lovely arched neck leading into a gentle sloping topline. Good angulation fore and rear however I would prefer a fraction more layback of shoulder to improve his reach. Moved well in the small hall and was at one with his handler. On his toes in the challenge to be Reserve Best Dog. 

Novice Dog (1)

1st Brooks Kenleap Rugen Dark brindle dog. Lovely head with good mouth, ear set and dark tight eyes. Naughty expression which made me smile! Lovely arched neck leading into withers with a gentle sloping topline. Long in loin however moved well. At one with his handler.

Post Graduate Dog (1)

1st Kavanagh Marbelton Mix’n Match Tall red and white male. Square in profile. Pleasing expression and had a good wide mouth, dark eyes, wide nares and ear set which in combination created a pleasing head. Long arched neck leading into withers, sloping topline. Kept his handler on their toes as so excited to be in the ring. Would prefer more bend of stifle to complete the picture. 

Limit Dog (3, 2Abs)

1st Fox Britesparke Norman Moon 6 and ¾ year old light brindle and white male. Loved his time in the ring and at one with his handler. Strong head with lovely ear set, dark eyes, wide nares and super wide mouth. Good angulation fore and rear which helped him move with reach and drive. Moved at one with his handler.

Open Dog (2)

1st Murfin & Hart Farvalley Pure Delight 2-year-old light brindle and white dog who stood four square. Wonderful kind, clean expression with tight eyes. Wide mouth. Lovely arched neck that flowed into withers, leading into a gentle sloping topline. Good angulation fore and rear but felt he was slightly narrow in front. Moved well with his handler. Close decision for reserve best dog but just lost out on his movement on the last go around.

2nd Woods Arkeney Conqueror Brindle and white dog who was more upstanding than 1. Lovely clean expression with a super wide tight mouth. Well off for bone with tight catlike feet. Good angulation fore and rear, moved ok but I feel he would likely excel better in a bigger ring to assess true movement. 

Veteran Dog/Bitch (2,1Abs)

1st Murfin & Philips Geenawell Red Knight by Farvalley What a wonderful very happy exuberant 8 year old boxer enjoying his day out! I could have watched him all day. Lovely square male with a naughty expression and dark eyes glinting with fun. Very well off for bone and in super muscular condition. Moved well but slightly down on pasterns today. Best veteran in breed.

Minor Puppy Bitch (3, 1Abs)

1st Huxley Seacrest Seraphim with Blixen A very promising 6 month old red and white puppy. When set up she was super square with evident muscle and well off for bone. Dark expressive eyes and wide nares, good tight mouth, all coupled with a lovely ear set. Lovely arched neck leading into withers with a gently sloping topline. Movement difficult to assess as she preferred to look for food on the floor, however, when she did move, she showed good reach and drive. I am sure with time and experience she has a very promising future ahead. 

2nd Murfin & Cobbledick Arkeney Infinity at Farvalley Another exciting puppy who I will watch how she matures. Taller brindle and white bitch who is totally different in type to 1. She has the most pretty face coupled with that typical puppy mischievous expression. She has dark eyes, good ear set, wide mouth. Evident chin. She has good angulation which allowed her to move with reach and drive around the ring. She moved at one with her handler.

Puppy Bitch (4, 2Abs)

1st Spencer Ashronsha Dolly My Love Brindle and white 11-month-old puppy who has the prettiest face, tight, dark eyes, ear set which helps accentuate her beautiful expression that is so typical of the breed. She is well off for bone with tight feet. She stands four square with a lovely, crested neck used to her advantage, leading into a gently sloping topline. Good angulation which allowed her to move well for her handler, although, I think a bigger ring would have suited her better.

2nd Van-Beck & Taylor A’Diddle Respect for Newlaithe Brindle and white raw 11-month-old puppy who has a totally different type to 1. She is super square with lovely bone and good feet. She has a pretty face with dark tight eyes and wide nares. She has a longer muzzle than 1 however once she grows into her stop, she will be more balanced. She has good angles which she used to move well with her handler.

Junior Bitch (1)

1st Hinchliffe Kizzylee Desdemona 12 month old red and white bitch who stood square with good bone and feet. She has dark eyes, mouth ok, lovely expression. In super condition. Moved well with her handler.

Yearling Bitch (3, 2Abs)

1st Hudson Norwilbeck Bellchime A Star red and white who has a lot to like about her. She has a pretty face with dark tight eyes, lovely expression. Lovely arched neck which she used to her advantage. She moved well using her rear angulation. Her handler needs to have more confidence in herself when handling her girl as they make a lovely team together!

Graduate Bitch (3, 1Abs)

1st MCCarthy & Gething Boxania Don’t Blame Me at Jeddhi Two year old brindle and white bitch with evident forechest and tight tuck up. She has a typical naughty expression using her dark eyes to her advantage. Her headpiece is not overdone in anyway, with a good mouth & ear set. She is square with good angulation front and rear which she used to her advantage on the move. Well off for bone with tight catlike feet. Reserve Best Bitch. 

2nd Flintoft Boxania Ebony Eyes I see she is litter sister to (1) and has many of the same attributes. Lovely dark faced brindle bitch who caught my eye as I looked at her. I just preferred the expression of her sister today.

Post Graduate Bitch (2, 1Abs)

1st Woods Arkeney Honeysuckle Tall red and white energetic bouncy girl who gave her handler a hard time when initially stacking up. She has a sweet expression, using her earset to her advantage. She has dark tight eyes. Good arched neck leading into withers with a sloping topline. Well off for bone with tight catlike feet. Movement was hard to judge as she moves so fast in a small hall.

1st Van-Beck Diddle On Newlaithe My notes say “Love Her”! A four-year-old brindle and white who has the most pleasing head, super dark tight eyes, good mouth, ear set. Well off for bone and tight feet. She has a super arched neck leading into withers and a gentle sloping topline. She has evident forechest and tuck up. She is super square and moved so easily with her handler. I could watch this girl go all day. BB, RBIS and BOS

2nd Woods Arkeney Geneva A two year old tall upstanding bitch who I have judged previously as a puppy and she didn’t disappoint. She has a pretty face with wide open nares, dark eyes, wide tight mouth. She has a lovely sloping topline with bang on tail set. Would have benefitted from a larger ring to fully stride out and back to show her movement off better.
