Windsor Gundog Society Open Show – April 1st 2026

Judge – Miss Ceri Simpson (Leriton)

I would like to thank the officers and committee of the club for their kind invitation to judge at this show.

Thank you to the exhibitors for bringing forward your beautiful dogs under me.

Class 48 Italian Spinone Puppy (1,1):

Ms S Howe. Mynaniz Lipari Del Jamborob.

At just six months, this baby bitch is exactly that — a youngster still finding her way, but what a delightful attitude she brings to the ring. She took everything in her stride, showing a pleasing confidence and clearly enjoying her day.

She presents a very honest outline, soundly constructed throughout, with particularly good bone and neat, well-made feet. Her skin and coat are in excellent order, adding to an overall quality appearance. Once she settled, her movement improved markedly; in the challenge she was far more assured, covering the ground with ease and purpose.

Her topline and tailset are correct and hold well on the move. If I were to be critical, I would just prefer a touch more angulation behind to complete the picture. That said, she is already well muscled for one so young and promises to develop nicely with time

Classe 49 Italian Spinone Junior - No entries.

Class 50 Italian Spinone Post Graduate (1,1)

Mrs J Wakeling. Fioralba Aurora.

An appealing two-year-old bitch, presenting a pleasingly square outline and immediately catching the eye with her lovely head and soft, feminine expression. Her head proportions are correct, with a well-balanced 50:50 skull to muzzle, and divergent planes as desired.

She is well angulated both fore and aft, with good depth and width of chest, ribs carried well back into a short, strong loin. Her topline and underline are both correct, giving a balanced and harmonious picture overall. A smart, workmanlike bitch who stands over her ground with confidence.

On the move she was accurate and true, maintaining her outline well. With just a little more muscle, particularly to enhance her drive from behind, she would be even more effective. She showed a lovely rapport with her handler today, which only added to her overall presentation.
