Stafford and District Canine Society

26th September 2026

I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge, my stewards for their sterling job and the exhibitors for entering with their lovely dogs under me. All the dogs were a joy to judge with such lovely temperaments and some beautiful relationships between them and their handlers.

Handling.

Best Junior handler: Evie Johnson

Best Adult handler: Pheobe Toublic

Class 542: 6-11 years. (4 Entries, 1 absentee)

1. Imogen Thorburn

A calm young handler working with a slightly uneasy dog. She kept her dog as calm as possible trying every possible trick to help him. She sets her dog up correctly and within good time, moved in clean, neat lines at the correct pace. She could identify the given point of a dog and spoke to her dog quietly. She kept the golden rule with good shadowing, well done.

2. George Tulloch

A good younger handler who has picked up handling quickly. He has a nice relationship with his young dog. He sets his dog up correctly with good speed. He could move a little quicker for his dog and check his surroundings more often, he has a bright future in handling.

3. Emily Worgan

Class 543: 12-16 years. (3 Entries, 0 Absentees)

1. Evie Johnson

A lovely young handler who brought a smile to my face. She kept her dog calm and settled, even shadowing well with a free stood dog. She identified the correct point of a dog and showed the dogs teeth gently with precision. Beautiful, neat lines when moving and could easily pick up the pace a little to match her dog. Best Junior Handler.

2. Leighton-Jem Cooper

Another good handler but she had to battle today with a young dog which wasn't her own. She encouraged the dog beautifully. Gave the correct point of a dog and showed the teeth correctly. She moved the dog as well as she could but could set up the dog better with some practice.

3. Abigail Twigg.

Class 544: 17-40 years. (12 Entries, 4 Absentees)

This was a brilliant class which I found difficult to sort, it eventually came down to who specifically listened to my instructions as I never asked for a free stand after moving.

1. Pheobe Toublic

A very worthy handler who had a calming presence in the ring which positively affected her dog and her placing. She set up her dog correctly and efficiently. She correctly showed the dogs teeth and quickly identified the point of a dog in which I asked. Correct but not overdone shadowing, letting her dog shine. Best Adult Handler.

2. Melissa Graham-Weall

Another worthy handler who once she had settled her dog seemed confident and calm. Correctly presented her dog and moved it at a beautiful pace and stride. She has good knowledge of the points of a dog and showed the dogs teeth correctly. She quickly corrected her dogs' foot when moved, just lacked the finesse and efficiency of 1.

3. Ethan Roberts.

Class 545: 41+ Years (10 Entries, 3 Absentees)

1. Maxine Proudler

A close runner up for Best adult handler. She showed her dog to breed standard while still accommodating for the demands of a handling class, she correctly identified the croup after a moment of blank and corrected the foot I moved in a timely manner. Her lines were neat and a good pace.

2. Vicky Davis

While she doesn't quite have the finishing touches of my winner I loved how she worked with her dog a true team, she let her dog shine and show its character. She also showed her dog to breed standard, while still shadowing and following the golden rule. She moved her dog with ease and beautiful pace.
