1st – Miss K Gould – Merdelaine Chaberton

A 9-month-old black and tan male with a lovely, strong masculine head and rich markings. Good muzzle and lovely oval, dark eyes, correct ear set for the breed. Excellent neck and front assembly, with good forechest for his age. Upper arm of great length, contributing to lovely, flowing movement. Lovely length-to-height ratio and excellent rib depth for his age. Good topline, lovely length of leg and correct angulation. He is well-muscled and presented in excellent condition. An overall lovely young dog, handled very well. My Best Puppy in Breed.

2nd – Miss K Gould – Merdelaine Hex Appeal

A lot to like on this 7-month-old harlequin bitch, who oozes breed type. Firm topline, rich markings and a lovely feminine head, with oval eyes and a good ear set. Excellent muzzle-to-skull ratio. Good angulation and overall showing lots of promise for the future. Handled very well and moved out well. I will follow this young girl’s career with interest.

A very tough class, with both exhibits displaying excellent breed type and moving well for their age. My first place was ultimately the more balanced of the two.

1st – Miss K Gould – Merdelaine Tormenta

A lovely black and tan 9-month-old bitch with a very nice feminine head, good eye and expression, and exceptionally rich markings. Perfect ear placement and full of substance for such a young lass. Well-defined head and excellent length of neck, contributing to a beautiful outline. Lovely angulation throughout. Good upper arm length and excellent bone, lovely and strong without being heavy. Great forechest and rib depth, standing on the tightest of feet. Excellent length overall and beautifully balanced, with no exaggeration. Excellent tail and lovely overall construction. Moved out beautifully, showing excellent reach and drive. Unfinished but full of potential and promise. Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd – Miss K Gould – Merdelaine Femme Hurlante

A beautifully marked, very eye-catching harlequin. Possessing nearly all of the same attributes as my first-place bitch. Moved soundly and took full advantage of the ring. I really liked her bone and excellent topline. Lovely head and expression, with very good overall angulation, again standing on the tightest of feet. Very close between these two girls, but as stated, the first was the more balanced overall.

1st – Miss C Bailey – Merdelaine Colossus

Lovely substance on this masculine 2½-year-old male, with great bone without being too heavy. Excellent head and overall expression, with good eye and ear set and a correct muzzle-to-skull ratio. Nice outline and front assembly, with lovely fore and rear angulation. Rich markings on this black and tan boy too. Well angulated with a good topline and lovely tight feet. Beautiful movement, showing excellent reach and drive. Handled very well by his sporting handler. Best of Breed.

2nd – Miss K Gould – Merdelaine Haut De Barry

A lovely 22-month-old harlequin male with rich markings. Maturing well, with the best topline of the day. Excellent overall balance, lighter and more elegant than first. Strong head with good ear set and lovely oval eyes, with the sweetest expression. Excellent neck flowing into great shoulders, lovely muscle and a strong upper thigh. Good bone and tight feet. Moved out well and showed himself beautifully.

Thank you to everybody who put their dogs under me in this breed. I was truly spoiled for choice and had some very difficult decisions to make. It was lovely to see a breed with such good toplines coming through, alongside excellent movement and overall balance.

1st – Breaksea Time to Dazzle at Alcheringa

A lovely 2-year-old bitch and what a lovely girl! Attractive, feminine and full of breed character, with a beautiful, flowing outline. This bitch was beautifully presented. Good muzzle length and pleasing head proportions, with a particularly good expression. Excellent length of neck and body, beautiful topline and lovely bone for a bitch. Moved out well and showed herself beautifully. Best of Breed.
