Bakewell Agricultural & Horticultural Society Premier Open Show 12/07/26 I would like to thank the society for the invitation for my first judging appointment. I had a lovely day and thank you to my steward who ensured everything ran smoothly and organised everything so well. And a huge thank you to everyone who supported and entered under me. I had a fantastic entry of 33 in just 4 classes, which I was overjoyed with. It did however give me some difficult decisions and I had my work cut out with so many lovely dogs to go over. Puppy 5(2) 1 Shirt’s Optimus Tom Jones For Finchwell. 7 Month old fawn dog with lovely head and moderate wrinkle giving him a lovely expression. Well placed dark eyes, dark mask and good dentition. Well laid shoulders with a good depth of chest and well off for bone. Strong arched neck. Good feet. Moved around the ring with ease and held his topline on the move. 2 Myers’ Optimus Bridget Jones. 7 month old fawn bitch and litter sister to 1. She is still raw at this stage but has a lovely outline and good angulation with tight cat-like feet. Nice feminine head with a dark mask and dark well placed eyes with correct ear set and nice expression. Good dentition. Moved well and held her level topline on the move. Junior 4(1) 1 Myers’ Optimus Casey Jones 7 month old dog. He has a lovely square head with a broad muzzle, moderate wrinkle and great expression, dark well placed eyes. Well placed ears and good pigmentation. Correct dentition. Strong muscled body with straight front and good depth of chest for his age. Tight cat-like feet. He has an excellent outline with correct angulation and level topline which he held on the move as he moved around the ring with ease and power. BP. 2 Connaughton’s Reesley Never Ending Story. 14 month old fawn bitch. Well off for bone. She has a lovely square head with good pigmentation and expression, dark eyes and correct ear set. Good dentition with a broad muzzle. Powerful shoulders and a nicely arched neck with good depth of chest. She moved well using her well muscled rear to her advantage. Post Graduate 11(2) 1 Downs’ Optimus Johnnie Walker 23 month old fawn dog. Caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring. He has a lovely clean head with moderate wrinkle and a lovely expression. Slightly undershot with a wide muzzle of correct length with well placed dark expressive eyes and correct pigmentation. Well placed ears complete his square head. Arched neck leading to powerful shoulders. Not overdone in anyway. Compact in outline with good rear angulation. A real showman, he powered around the ring holding his topline on the move and showed himself to great advantage. I was thrilled to see him go on to get group 2 later in the day. BOB 2 Taylor & Myers’s Hyerdunscar Getting Messi With Optimus. 18 month old fawn dog. He has a square head, slightly heavier than 1 with good expression and excellent pigmentation and mask. Well off for bone, he has a well muscled body and correct front and rear angulation. Strong neck of moderate length onto well placed shoulders with good depth of chest. Moved well but preferred the movement of 1. Open 13(6) 1 Thomas & Bull’s Phoria’s Eden. 4yr old fawn bitch. Shown in good hard condition with a clean outline and excellent topline. Feminine but powerful, she has a clean square head with nice expression and excellent correct dentition. Broad muzzle and dark eye. Nicely arched neck. She had everything in the right place and moved with purpose around the ring. Slightly out of coat or she would’ve pushed for higher honours. RBOB. 2 Lindley’s Hyerdunscar Hot Gossip With Optimus. 18 month old fawn bitch. Very feminine with a clean correctly proportioned head. Dark mask and nice dark eyes giving her a lovely expression. Shown in excellent condition. Smaller in overall size than 1. I liked her clean and effortless movement. She has an excellent topline and an overall compact and pleasing outline.
