Oakengates & District Canine Society Open Show – 17th July 2026

Afghan Hounds

Junior

1. McLoughlin Unstopppable Colors Of The Wind Of Zantescwtch (Imp Swe) 9m/o elegant all through, very pretty head with dark triangular eye. Good front, strong rear, moved very well. BP

2. Kirk-Vickers & Hughes Istani Liza Minnelli With Finkime Correct coat, preferred the front on the winner. Moved well 

Post Graduate

1. Hughes, Hughes, Forrester & Nisbet Gezancol Finix Love Me Do Ultra feminine, excellent ringed tail, well made all through, Beautiful had and eye. Well made for and aft with good angles which showed in her movement. Correct coat. BOB, HG2

Open 

1. Kirk & Williams Istani Omar Sheriff JW Upstanding 2 year old male. Masculine head with dark eye, Good rear angles, correct coat, well muscled. Correct ring tail but could have used it better on the move.

1. Hills Rangali Anna With Shimmeree 13 m/o very feminine. Ears set on level to eye. Striaght for legs, tight feet. Well ribbed strong loin. Strong rear,. Correct coat texture. Needs to settle when moving nut very promising. BOB

1. McGrory Beabass Roxana With Fuoriditesta5 y/o mature bitch. Pretty head with correct expression, Good tail, Decent enough front angles. Steady mover, needs to lose some weight.

1. Spacey Inchydoney Memories Vlady Muscat At Hallimans (imp Fra) 2y/o bitch bright dark eyes, long head & musculat neck. Good depth to chest. Tight feet, Well ribbed. Well muscled, free striding movement BOB

2. Mallen-Wallace Kellsboro Sasha 9y/o who defied her age. Excellent muscletone, tight feet, long strong neck, deep chest and well ribbed

Open 

1. Mallen-Wallace Droopys Tavern 10 y/o male in excellent condition with the hardest of muscle. Handsome eye, tight feeet, good shoulders, decent ribbing. Moved well for his age. 

Norwegian Elkhound

Junior

Two very promising puppies in this class. 

1. Tress Tresha Veuve Clicquot Wedge shaped head, with correct ears used well. Strong neck, straight front. Tight feet. Short in back, good tail set. Correct coat, moved very well, she was more settled than second which tipped her the win. BP PG4

2. Mortimer Laakso Reinstorm 6m/o and giving some away in maturity. Very pretty wedge shaped head with the correct ears and eyes. Powerful neck well made front and rear, correct coat. Moved well when she settled. 

Post Graduate

1. Threadgold Laakso Katja JW 2 y/o bitch who was very good to go over. Excellent feet. Good ears. Correct head and eye. Well ribbed, Stright front. Correct tail set. Well-muscled and moved well. 

2. Mortimer Laakso Lumi 11m/o full of character. Lovely head and ears. Strong neck. Straight front. Excellent feet. Well ribbed, Moved well. Was slightly longer than the winner.

A wonderful class where I was spoilt for choice

1. Stephenson Kamgaard Kyffin For Brawdor 22 m/o male who is just coming in to maturity. Good outline on the move and standing. Correct wedge shaped head with correctly set on ears which he used well. Powerful neck leading to good shoulders. Well boned straight forlegs with tight feet. Short back. Correct tail set and carriage. Excellent movement which carried him to BOB and HG1

2. Hennessey Laakso Esko At Ekskerdeg Fully mature male, presenting a square outline. Masculine head with correctly shaped ears. Good neck. Stright front, excellent feet. Level topline. Good tailset. Good muscletone. Moved well. 

Rhodesian Ridgeback 

Junior

Two 8m/o litter mates headed this class

1. Ashman Jolihem Shumba For Kitaarka Upstanding puppy that obviously still has a fair bit of maturity to go but today he was more mature than his sister. Skull was broad but I am sure has developing still to go. Well set ears. Long and strong neck, good lay to shoulders. Straight fore legs leading to tight feet. Well boned. Decent depth to chest and ribbing but again I would expect this to develop more. Good rear. Well set tail used correctly on the move. When he got his act together his movement was free and active. He is very promising. BOB, BP & PG1

2. Picton & Ince Jolihem Truly Scrumptious A female version of her brother and was truly splitting hairs between the two as they were so similar. On the day I felt the winner had the edge on maturity. Another one with free and active movement with correctly carried tail.

1. Pritchard Jones Mission Wild Wind Of Luanda At Affrhoda (Imp Svk) Upstanding 2y/o male. Good head with decent width between well set ears. Strong neck. Straight forelegs leading to tight feet. Well ribbed. Correct ridge. Moved well.

Open 

1. Pritchard Jones Affrhoda Athiyyah 5 y/o Bitch. Very well muscled, straight forelegs and good feet. Correct head planes. Good rear. Was unsettled on the move but when she did she strode out well. 

Whippet

1. Lynch Hesykhia Aquarius Hope that she has done all of her growing but she had the better topline in the class. Oval eyes, strong neck. Decent lay back to shoulder. Deep chest, well muscled back with the correct arch over the loin. Well muscled rear. Correct tail carriage on the move. Moved ok. 

2. Kemp Salizada Early Morning Dreams For Saraquele (Imp ITA) Uktra feminine and a better size than the winner. Very pretty, good enough front, Strong neck, well muscled but for me she was too flat in topline and carried her tail too high on the move. 

Junior

1. Ryan Riocife Moonology 15 m/o brindle male who still has some scope to mature. Masculine but not coarse in anyway. Strong neck, leading to well developed chest which had depth. Correct arch over the loin. Stright front, tight feet. Well muscled rear. Correctly carried tail on the move. Moved well. BOB

2. Searle & Rawlinson Majestrian Lavender Haze For Whipsearle (Imp ITA) Very feminine. Scored in her head, and lovely tight feet. Good topine. For me she was too weak in her rear end which showed in her movement.

2. Gore Silkridge Brighter Vision For Helsim Beautiful head and eye, decent fromt, straight forelegs, tight feet. Well muscled, correct tail set and moved well.

Open 

1. Searle & Rawlinson Refton Tibalt At Whipsearle JW (Imp ITA) Well made male with the correct arch over the loin. Good head and expression. Correct angles fore and aft. Well muscled rear and moved out well. 

2. Kemp Saraquele Smooth Criminal 11m/o male who just lost out on maturity in this class. Lovely head and expression flowing to a muscular neck. Good front, strong loin with correct arch. Well muscled hind quarters. Moved very well.

22m/o male Borzoi with some maturing to do. Silky and well presented coat. Correctly shaped head. Good shoulders and rear angles. Moved well BAVNSC

1. Ford Mischran Miika Well proportioned head. Good pigment. Decent depth to his chest. Good front and rear angles, well muscled. Correctly presented coat. Moved with drive

2. Hough Secret Agent With Sufayre Close up to the winner and shown in excellent condition. Masculine without being coarse. Strong muzzle. Good neck. Enough depth to chest. Compact feet. Moved very well.

2. Pritchard Jones Affrhoda Amaryllis 6m/o ridgeback who is very raw and lacked the maturity of the winner, that said showed potential. Needs to settle more on the move and bring herself together. 

Veteran 

1. Nash Ch Tokaji Moon Over Miami With Mutoko JW ShCEx OSW VW An easy winner of this class, 7 year old Basenji with bags of class and quality. Quare outline when standing. Classic head with correct eye and ear set. Strong neck flowing to well laid shoulders, straight front and the neatest of feet. Well developed ribbing, good chest, short firm loin. Moderate rear angles. She just comes alive on the move. Delighted to watch her go BVIS

2. Stephenson Norvin Marvel Of Brawdor Square outline when stood, correct head, good angkles fore and aft. Level topline leading to well set tail. Well muscled moved with positive gait.
