Boston Terrier Club

The Boston Terrier club

Open show 28/3/2026

I thank the club for the invitation to judge this fabulous breed at their open show, & for the lovely hospitality shown. Some dogs are still very close behind when moving away, & this seems to be hard to remedy. Thank you to my stewards, Polly, Simon & Tina, for keeping the smooth flow of the ring. Bostons were my second breed, & a breed I would like to own & show again in the near future.

Minor Puppy Dog (1,0)

1st Grange’s Bosties Urban Outlaw

A raw 6 month old boy with much to like. He has a nice head which already shows type. Muzzle short & square. His ear set was good, & he had a good eye shape. Square in head & in body. Good length of neck. His topline is typical of many puppies at this age, still waiting to settle. He has a low-set tail, & he moved well when he got going. Best Puppy Dog & Best Puppy In Show.

Puppy Dog (0,0)

Junior Dog (1,0)

1st Rodaway’s Demorace Atmospheric

15 months of age, brindle & white, initially he seemed a tad nervous, but he settled with his owner. This boy has a nice headpiece with good firm ears set on high, dark round eye & a good length to muzzle. Good neck & level topline leading to a low set tail. Straight front & moved with ease.

Yearling Dog (3,0)

1st Svitanova’s Valbrown’s Not For Sale For Rintintina (Imp Hun) JW,

22 month old pale brindle & white boy, small & square, he caught my eye early on. He has well placed round eyes, & nice small erect ears, which are set on high. Good bite. He did lose his topline somewhat on the move. Tail low set. Straight front & moderatelyangulated at the rear. He moved well & stood lovely. Reserve Best dog.

A small 2 year old dog cutting a nice shape. He has well placed ears & a good eye, giving him that Boston expression. Good for muzzle & cheek. Level topline with correct low-set tail. He moved with good action front & rear. In the challenge, he had had enough & decided he had done his bit for the day. Little beggar!

2nd Rees & Scott’s Talkaccatur Crazy Horse

2 years old & of bigger stature whilst still nice & typey. Nice shape to him with a good headpiece. Nice eye & expression. Level topline & low-set tail. Front patterns could be stronger. Moved well with ease.

Another nice boy at just over 2 years. A bigger type but with refinement. A good head with well set & used ears. Nice eye & good nares. Topline was lovely & level, which led to his low-set tail & rear with nice angulation. Moved with nice action. A very tough call between these 2 but I opted for overall compactness of 1.
