Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge their 2026 open show. I felt very privileged to accept this appointment and I feel it is very fitting that my home club should invite me to judge my first breed open show. Thank you also to the exhibitors who stayed following the completion of the Border Union judging to show their dogs under me, I know it was a long day and I appreciate your support. 

Baby Puppy Dog- 0 Entries

Baby Puppy Bitch: 

1) Dalby’s Story Rex Heritage Guess for Axernamoon (IMP ITA)- A raw but appealing 5 month old puppy with an excellent outline, who when settled showed glimpses of her breed typical movement. Pretty head with well set ears, leading to a strong neck and well angulated body. Should have a bright future. BBPIS

MPD:

1) Ward’s Starside Valentino Rossi- A very raw 6 month old of good substance, well balanced, angles starting to develop, a typical young male he let himself down on the move, however when settled you could see glimpses of the correct movement that will no doubt shine through as this boy matures. 

PD:

1) Holtappel’s Bryning The Pretender- A lovely 9 month old young male who won his places today on his movement! A handsome head with a kind eye, strong neck, well placed shoulders and pleasing overall outline. Excellent reach and drive, covered the ground with ease. BPD, BPIS

2) Askey’s Piece of Happiness Tornado at Petalnote- A masculine 14-month-old boy of good substance, well balanced with a level topline. Unsettled on the move today.

YD:

1) Askey’s Piece of Happiness Tornado at Petalnote- See 2nd JD

PGD: 

1) Ward’s Blackgold Basil From Starside- Balanced 2yr old male, pleasing overall shape, held a level topline on the move, would like better ears.

2) Askey’s Piece of Happiness Tornado at Petalnote- See 2nd JD

LD: 

1) Prandle’s Roydenbark Meet Joe Black at Baywern- A 2yr old dog of good shape, giving off an athletic outline, well set ears which are sensitive in use, well off for bone, moved soundly with drive, may benefit from his handler dropping his lead and allowing him room to stride out, could be proud of his tail at points but done enough to win the class and RBD. 

2) Bell and Sloan’s Janbell Look at Me- Quality 3yr old male, lovely outline, broad skull, well set ears, well placed shoulders, well angulated, just not as settled as 1 on move. 

OD

1) Alexander, Turner and Macdonald’s Locheil Freeze Frame- An all male 2yr old dog, fantastic shape, strong masculine head with dark eye and a kind expression, well set ears, good reach of strong neck leading to very well-placed shoulders, good front and rear assembly. Presented in super coat, well-muscled throughout, moved soundly out and back, lovely fluid movement with a minimal lift of feet that could not deny him BD and BIS.

VD

1) Prandle’s Borderbrook Spring Dreamer at Baywern- Masculine 8yr old dog, correctly set ears, strong neck, well off for bone and shown in good condition. Slightly close at the back end. 

GCD

1) Buckley’s Amkamel Half Blood Prince JW- Nice masculine head with correct eye, level topline, sound mover once settled, though owner has tendency to keep stop/starting him, would prefer more fluidity in his movement.

MPB

1) O’Brien’s Jachelm Still Sisters- 8 month old pretty young bitch with a kind expression, pretty, feminine head with good stop, well balanced front and rear, moved straight and true, well-handled to get the best out of her.

PB

1) Alison’s Wenmap Special Arrival- A 10 month puppy on the thinner side who needs time to body up and mature, feminine head, erect ears sensitive in use, super outline, lovely coup, when settled she moved very well showing reach and drive which won her BPB. 

JB

1) Holtappel’s Bryning Psychedelic Kisses JW- A pretty young 16 month old bitch who won her places on movement, feminine head, graceful neck leading to well set shoulders, well balanced outline, moved well in all directions to win RBB.

2) Ward’s Windwalker Aurora Over Starside- Feminine 17-month-old with correct head, eyes and ears, well balanced throughout giving a nice outline, moved well, just preferred the movement on 1.

1) Surridge’s Roydenbark Casablanca- 2yr old feminine girl of good substance, fantastic overall shape, well-muscled, moved true in all directions, handler got the best out of her considering she was struggling on the day.

LB

1) Grant’s Simmovon Among The Stars Avec Coussiere JW-A girl I have judged before as a youngster, she has come along a treat since then, very feminine head with correct eye and well set ears all leading to a kind expression, good neck leading to a well-balanced body, held her topline on the move, shown in excellent condition. 

OB

1) Mcconnachie’s Your Still The One At Thistleskye- Attractive 4yr old bitch with an ultra-feminine head, correct eye, graceful neck leading to well-placed shoulders, correct croup and tail set, held topline on the move, well balanced with angulation as it should be, flowed around the ring earning her class win and ultimately BB and RBIS.

2) Alexander, Turner and Macdonald’s Locheil Dream Come True- A larger bitch than 1 who appealed for overall breed type, gave her handler a hard time on the move but when settled showed the correct movement. 

VB

1) Grant’s Coussiere Dancing Queen- an 11yr old bitch who belies her age, so very well constructed, a real athletic girl. Feminine head, well used ears, strong neck, well angulated, held a level topline on the move. A credit to her owners. BVIS

GCB

1) Surridge’s Tonkory Yasmine- Pretty bitch with overall good breed type, well balanced, moved well away and back, held her topline on the move, well handled.

2) McConachie’s Wish’s Emerald Star for Thistleskye- Smaller bitch than 1, although small she is balanced, well angulated, movement sound.
