My sincere thanks to Leicester City Canine Society for the kind invitation. It was a pleasure to judge this lovely breed, and I extend heartfelt appreciation to every exhibitor who entered and gave up their time and money for the privilege of allowing me to go over their dogs. Your support is never taken for granted. My thanks also to my steward, whose calm efficiency kept the ring running smoothly throughout the day.

I would have welcomed a slightly larger ring to assess movement in full, but despite this limitation, the overall standard was pleasing. I found no mouth faults, and all exhibits had nice open nares, which was encouraging to see.

Puppy (5 entries, 2 absent)

1st – Parry & Gill, Saxstaff La Diosa

An 8‑month‑old red and white pied bitch who immediately caught my eye for her balance and overall harmony. She has a beautifully shaped head with correct proportions, dark eyes that sparkle with intelligence, and neat rose ears that frame her expression perfectly. Her front is straight and tidy, her neck short but clean, flowing into a body that is developing exactly as one would hope at this age. Ribs coming along nicely, good bend of stifle, and she carries herself with confidence. Shown in lovely condition and handled with sensitivity. A very promising youngster.

Best Puppy in Breed and delighted to see her go Group 1 in the Terrier Puppy Group.

2nd – Bassford-Lane, Waystaff Lets Play Conquers with Jojalane

A 7‑month‑old red and white pied bitch of pleasing type. Well‑shaped head with dark eyes and rims, giving a soft but alert expression. Defined stop, good length of muzzle, and a clean lip. Shoulders well placed, neat feet, and she shows early signs of good construction. Another puppy with plenty to like.

3rd – Heron, Dilirystaff Bullseye

Post Graduate (3 entries)

1st – Rogers & Daly‑Lees, Berrystock Agamemnon

A black brindle bitch of lovely type, feminine yet strong. Clean head with dark round eyes, good underjaw and defined cheek bumps. Her neck is strong and well‑muscled, flowing into well‑placed shoulders. Straight front with good forequarters, level topline, and a short, tight coat in excellent condition. She is well balanced throughout and moved with purpose. Handled favourably to bring out her best.

2nd – Cockeram, Bullybranch Clever Coal

A red dog shown in good condition. Clean head with dark, expressive eyes and tight lips. Straight front, strong neck, and a tidy outline. A dog who presents well and shows honest, straightforward breed type.

3rd – Petts, Arkenstaff She’s The One at Brydonstaff

Open Dog (2 entries)

1st – Bassford-Lane, Jojalane I Drink Wine

A striking red dog with white chest and toes and a beautiful dark mask that enhances his expression. Well‑shaped head with good cheek bumps, tight lips, and a strong forechest. Straight front, well‑ribbed body, and shown in fit, hard condition. Level topline and a pleasing outline both stood and on the move. A quality dog who pushed hard today.

Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd – Shepherd, Harlivstaff Captain Coady

A red dog, well balanced and of good type. Nice head with dark eyes, straight front, good spring of rib, and a pleasing bend of stifle. Shown in fit condition and full of character — he certainly kept his handler busy today, but there is much to appreciate in him.

Open Bitch (4 entries)

1st – Liggins & Curd, Ch. Ellchansha Under Your Spell at Knockon JW

A super black brindle bitch who commands attention the moment she enters the ring. Beautiful feminine head with dark eyes and a soft, melting expression. Rose ears, defined cheek bumps, and clean lips complete a classic Stafford headpiece. Straight front with good width, lovely depth of brisket, and well‑sprung ribs. Shown in excellent fit condition with neat feet and a strong, clean topline. She moves with purpose and confidence, presenting a picture of balance and quality throughout.

Best of Breed.

2nd – Ryan & Daly‑Lees, Berrystock All Tye’d Up At Rubericla

A black brindle bitch of pleasing type. Lovely head with dark round eyes and a gentle expression. Good muzzle length, clean lips, well‑placed shoulders, and nice rear angulation. Shown in good condition and handled well. A quality girl who pushed hard for the top spot.

3rd – Heron, Dilirystaff Fangtasic

4th – Parry & Gill, Leebee’s Zakiyah at Saxstaff
