Darlington Open Show – 11th January 2026

I was a late appointment so thank you to exhibitors for braving the weather and society for the lovely appointment. My steward was amazing- kept the ring following and with good humour. 

Chihuahua – smooth 

Post Grad 

1. Tyson’s Stadmeyer Jesslyn JW. Lovely head and expression. Good size. True away and back. Preferred length. Well ribbed. 

2. Turnbull Sunlea Bouncing Back from Prinleigh. Longer cast than 1. True away could tighten coming. Pleasing expression. Good angulation back and front. 

Open 

1. Tyson’s Starceylon Love to the Moon. Super temperament. Good size. Pleasing head and expression. Compact and moderate all round. Lovley profile movement and topline. Could be tighter away and back but more related to outgoing nature and enjoying day out. BOB 

Pug 

Yearling 

1. Howe Wincastle Nblack Me All The Way. Overall shape ok. Held topline on the move. Good tight curl to tail. Moved away true. Front could be tidier. 

Post Graduate 

1. Howe Chandshar Fab Frankie. Head piece ok. Well-built and cobby. Held topline. Front feet could be tighter. Ovell good balance. 

Open 

1.Walker Afterglow Wild West Hero at Sunlea JW. Liked head and expression. Overall shape and balance was good. Held a steady shape and topline on the move. Slightly bigger frame. Moved with slight typical roll.  

2.  Walker Aferglow Able Sunlea JW. Loved this young ladies head and expression. Stood cobby and balanced. Moved true away and back. Just preferred 1’s profile action today. 

 

Affenpinscher 

Open 

1. Panton Guereza Goody Goody Yum Yum. Full of breed character and look at me attitude. Moved lovely- very true away and back with correct profile geit. Held a super topline. Harsh coat. Square with good depth, width muscle. Although stood alone here was a picture in group and delighted to award Toy Group 1. 

 

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel 

Junior 

1. Gilbert Quzlewell’s Ron Weasley. Still a puppy well ribbed back, super topline good angulation back and front, good length of stride, held topline well on the move. Moved well away. Super happy puppy. BPIB and Puppy Group3   

Post Graduate 

1. Kynaston’s Granasil Ovaltine. Balanced overall, could have little more width in front, good topline, everything in moderation good head, enough angulation back and front. 

2. Eccles Llapsttam Get Knotted JW. B/T. Overall a sound picture. Lots of coat. Good ribbing, held topline well, moved ok, went ok overall back and forth.   

Open 

1. Walker’s Stavonga Sky Walker Kayceekay JW OSW SchCEx. Very moderate, good head, clean lines well ribbed, held good toppling, moved away and back ok, lovely easy stride and free flowing, happy temperament. BOB 

2. Wragg’s Jomaki Gospel Bill. 8.5 loving his day out, good topline and balanced, moved well. 

Chihuahua – Long coat 

Puppy 

1. Gray Rubyanlo El Vicitore. Still to mature, but lovely overall shape, super expression, good balance front and back ear set and carriage- real little character. True away and back 

2. Turnbull Prinleigh Pandora Charm. Lovely type and head, well balanced, moved out well coat make look lke roaches bu not, true away and back 

Yearling 

1. Todd-McCoid Rubyanlo Next Top Model. More length throuwing fron left leg out. Good topline true away. Lovely happy persn 

2. Tyson Starceylon Love Me Again. First show and had a go on table, good topline, moved away and back true- not as keen on head as one. 

Post Graduate 

1. Todd-McCoid Rubyanlo Knock Your Sox Off. Sam movement at Junior throwing left elbow. Lovely shape and very happy, moved out well and with purpose.confidence, held good topline. 

Open 

1. Todd-McCoid Rubyanlo Miss Molly. Something funny with back movement- font movement good, overall shape good, topline goof, lovely expression and head and ear set 

2.Wragg Happy King. 4th in puppy beginning to settle nice shape, needs to learn trade and concerntate on handler, moved away and back true help ok topline. 

 

Chinese Crested 

Post Graduate 

1. McFarlane Little Pocket Rocket. True hairless. Skin shown in lovely condition. Moved away and back well holding a good topline. Good expression. Just now need to body up as he matures. 

Open 

1. McFarlane Zerachiel Exotic Dancer ShCm. 13yrs old and doesn’t look it, especially with all her teeth which in Cresties is no mean feet! Lovely shape and balance. Good ear set expression and head, moved true away and back. Loving being in the ring and strutting her stuff, showing the youngsters she still has it. Good front and rear angulation. A real credit to her owners. 

 

Griffon Bruxellois 

Post Graduate 

1 and 2 both lovely and will no doubt swap places as they mature and grow. 

1. Potts Adreem Classic Rough. 6mths. Loved his square shape and excellent depth, moved well and kept that square shape in profile, super head, good coat really nice promising baby. Happy to aware Toy Group 4 and Puppy Group 1. 

2. Barbi Cilleine Last Wicket for Sparero. Another quality youngster with lots to love. Lovely head and expression. Super outgoing temperament, excellent coat, little longer cast than 1 at moment and not the depth- but at a different age and growth stage, so time. Moved and handled brilliantly. Another with lots of promise. 

Open 

1. Gullon Datiro Tiger Lily. Super little mover. Good coat. Held a good topline. Away and back true. Square shape. 

2. Potts Nialco Back to Black to Adreeam. Good black coat. Lovely overall shape and balance. Good head. Just not holding topline as well as 1 today. 

 

Italian Greyhound 

Open 

1. Willcock Ch Newill Haymaker JW. Lovely clean lines and curves, true away and back, super head clean neck, good depth, rose ears. Quality male and delighted to award Toy Group 2. 

 

Japanese Chin 

Post Graduate 

1. Potts Somergemz Highland Laddie for Adreeam. Ok for width, lacking a little depth. Moved truest in the class. Clean eyes, good expression. Coat in good condition. Good feet. 

2. Smith Benisu Avenue of Roses (Imp Pol). Still has maturing to do but moved well in profile. Balanced overall picture. Coat in good condition. 

Open 

1. Gullon Adreeam Alice JW. Head ok. Balanced overall picture and angulation in front and rear. Good depth and width of substance. Just needs coat to finish the picture. 

2. McFarlane Jeskandai Koi No Yokan ScCEx. Good body and moved out well. Head and expression ok. Shown in good coat and lovely condition. 

King Charles Spaniel 

Post Graduate 

1. Maddison Mitapp Macallan. Very well ribbed back. Moved true away and back. Little long in leg for me. Clean head and proportions, good open nostrils. Clean lines just needs time to fill and mature. 

Open 

1. Maddison Justacharma Northern Magic. Good overall type and head, lovely open nostrils and cean eyes. Full of character when settled could move out and back with good topline. Would like little more muscle tone. 

 

Lowchen (Little Lion Dog) 

Post Graduate 

1. McFarlane Glendyke Dancing on Ice. Moved away and back true, nice head good body, could have tighter elbows. Topline good, when settled. Showed well with good skin and coat. A lovely youngster. 

Open 

1.McFarlane Kerryken Keir Rob ShCEx. Moved away and back true, good for age 8yrs, lovely head, good coat. Could have tighter elbows but a balanced overall picture. Nice high tail. 

Miniature Pinscher 

Open 

1. Urwin & James Jaegerson Kinggsman JW. Stands a picture with good balance, depth and shape. Correct rear movement and lovely head and expression, tended to pace a little but when not had correct action. A real little showman and happy to award Toy Gp3. 

Papillon 

Open 

1.Thornton Ch Milbu Ciciobello at Shevid JW. Moved away and back true. Held an ok topline I wouldn’t want any more , but a good overall shape and balanced. 

 

AV NSC Toy 

Open 

1.Mcfarlane Curiosity Beside the Victory At Altina. Good topline on the move and stack. Coat was ok. God ear set, moved out well, very true way and back. Super alert expression and carried self well. 

AV Toy Veteran
