Thanks to the officers and committee for the very kind invitation to judge at this well organised show. Thanks also to my stewards, Gareth and Caroline, for keeping everything moving along so well which was very important with an entry of 345 dogs. Obviously there were absentees but many thanks to the exhibitors for affording me the opportunity to go over so many lovely dogs.
For Best In Show I chose the Beagle – Ch Rossut Zavier At Sandylands, 3 year old male of outstanding type and quality, he is sturdily constructed and is compact, lovely well proportioned head with kindly dark eyes, muscular neck into well laid shoulders, firm level topline held on the move, good tailset and carriage, muscular thighs and good bend of stifle, straight front with good bone and tight feet, good depth of chest and well sprung ribs back to short muscular loin. He was straight and true moving with reach and drive but exceptional in profile action. Handled to advantage to win from this strong line up.
Reserve Best In Show the American Cocker Spaniel – Nasailleen Flicda Bird, she is still only 13 months but this bitch is just lovely with a tremendous head, large dark eyes, well defined stop and good depth of muzzle, ears nicely set on, good length of neck fitting cleanly into sloping shoulders, firm topline, well constructed at rear allowing strong driving action, good bone and neat feet, deep in chest with very good ribbing, shown in good coat and super condition. Fantastic on the move and – credit to her handler - handled extremely well to get the very best from her.
Best Puppy In Show was the Bullmastiff – Crimlisk Romanee Conti, at 7 months this bitch must have a super future, she is powerfully built but no doubt still very feminine and so sound throughout, just loved her temperament, her head is so well proportioned with soft expressive dark eyes black mask, ears nicely set on, muscular arched neck and shoulders well placed, firm topline and good strong rear, very good bone and feet, deep in chest, shown in super condition. She moved lovely with a super attitude, very impressive.
Reserve Best Puppy the Norfolk Terrier – Watercroft Sticky Wicket, standing or on the move this one could do no wrong, just loved everything about her, she has a superb outline and sweet head with gentle expressive eyes, well constructed all through shown in good harsh coat lovely condition, moved out with such purpose another delight from this kennel.
Best Veteran In Show the Portuguese Water Dog – Ch/Can GRCHB/Can/AM Ch Macduffs critical Acclaim (Imp CAN ), 7 year old male, so typical, soundly constructed with well proportioned head with dark expressive eyes, scores in neck and shoulder, firm topline and strong rear, good bone and tight feet, good depth and width of chest, nicely ribbed up, shown in super muscular condition and so well presented. Moved with reach and drive, expertly handled.
Reserve Best Veteran In Show Pomeranian – Special Edition Of Persimoone JW VW (Imp UKR) 8 year old male of super type and quality, just loved his attitude, compact and short coupled, pretty head with gorgeous dark eyes giving such a lively expression, under all the coat is a well put together dog, shown in well presented coat and moved out smartly, carefully handled. A pleasure to go over this male.
A.V. Puppy Stakes
Puppy Dog (54 ents)
1st – Coton De Tulear – Coton Karma’s Shoot Me Down Bear At Cindaires(Imp UKR), stunning preparation on this young lad, brilliant bright white coat, lovely dark eyes, nice head and well proportioned throughout, really came into his own on the move to win this excellent class. Expertly handled and should go on to do very well.
2nd – Siberian Husky – Clehatro Big Bang At Hazylights, what a lovely youngster of excellent type, cracking in head and eye, neck fits cleanly into well placed shoulders, good topline and well constructed at rear, nice bone and tight feet body maturing well. Moved out with style, super coat and condition.
3rd – Weimaraner – Weipowa Shaken Not Stirred To Britmans
Puppy Bitch (83 ents)
1st – Doberman – Mianna Full Circle With Martifers, such an eyecatching outline, she is squarely built with well proportioned feminine head and dark almond shaped eyes, neck of good length fitting cleanly into well placed shoulders, firm straight sloping topline leading to a well constructed rear, good bone and feet, deep in chest with good ribbing and muscular loin, shown in gleaming coat and super condition, she moved with reach drive and style. Really well handled to take a very strong class, well done.
2nd – Affenpinscher – Carycares Hot To Go, so close up, just thought this one fabulous and so full of attitude, very lively and full of herself, nicely proportioned in head with dark expressive eyes, ears set on high, body coming on well allowing super movement which was lovely to watch, at one with her handler.
3rd – Weimaraner – Chilternway Coriandrum
A.V. Junior Stakes (79 ents)
1st – Pointer – Millpoint Mr Loverman, strongly built b/w male with super balanced outline, cracking head with desired dish to face, dark eye and well set on ears, muscular neck of good length fitting cleanly into well placed shoulders, firm sloping topline leading to well constructed rear, straight front with good bone and tight feet, deep in chest with good ribbing back to short muscular loin, he moved with such style and drive.
2nd – Chow Chow – Charids Queen Of Hearts, what a super example of the breed, only just out of puppy, she is so balanced and carries herself so nicely, lovely in head and eye, well constructed body, well presented coat and moving a dream.
3rd - Flatcoat – Moontorn Count On Me
A.V. Open Stakes (59 ents)
1st – Miniature Schnauzer – Risepark First Lady Of Heibri JW, this could be a star in the making, she stands so well allowing you to see her many virtues, lovely head and keen expressive dark eyes, ears set on high, neck strong and of good length, well placed shoulders, firm sloping topline and well angulated rear, good bone and tight feet, good width and depth of chest with well sprung ribs and short loin, in excellent harsh coat, she was presented to the minute, she really reaches out and drives on the move, expertly handled.
2nd – German Shorthaired Pointer – Seasham Too Much Heaven, such a super type and full of quality, she has a to die for outline, lovely clean cut feminine head and kindly dark eye, muscular neck of good length fitting nicely in to well placed shoulders, firm topline held on the move, well put together at rear giving strong driving action, good bone and neat feet, deep in chest with well sprung ribs and short muscular loin. Shown in tip top condition, covers the ground so easily and so well handled.
3rd – Irish Terrier – Holbam Midsummer Knight At Ruffmar (AI) JW ShCEx OSW
A.V. Champion Stakes (30 ents)
1st – Irish Setter – Sh Ch Riverbrue Wonderwall At Hernwood very impressive outline to this strongly built male, his head is long and lean with dark eyes and ears hanging close to cheeks, muscular neck of good length and fitting nicely into well placed shoulders, firm sloping topline, good tailset, good width of thigh and turn of stifle, well boned and good feet, very deep in chest with excellent ribbing back to muscular loin, moved with reach and drive, well presented coat and expertly handled.
2nd - IRWS – Sh Ch Roanjora Crianza, quality 4 year old example of the breed she is so feminine with a super head and eye, good reach of neck and well laid shoulders, firm topline, she has a good width of thigh and turn of stifle, nicely boned with tight feet, deep in chest and well ribbed up, shown in super coat and muscular condition, strong driving action, well handled.
3Rd – Shetland Sheepdog - Ch Lullaby Moon Over Mohnesee JW ShCEx OSW
A.V. Vulnerable Native Breeds Stakes (44 ents)
1st – Bullmastiff – Kierlaceyan Emma Jane, 3 year old feminine bitch of really nice type, she is strongly built with plenty of substance but in no way overdone, lovely head and eye, muscular neck of good length and well placed shoulders, firm topline ribbed back to muscular loin, moved out really well covering the ground easily.
2nd – Irish Terrier – Holbam Midsummer Knight A Ruffmar (AI) JW ShCEx OSW, a quality example shown in super harsh red coat, superb in outline, lovely head and keen expressive eyes, neck of good length fitting cleanly into well placed shoulders, firm topline and good rear angulation, good bone and feet, chest deep with good ribbing, moved out smartly.
3rd – OES – Shaggybo Mineral Mist JW
