It was truly an honour to be judging all three sizes of Schnauzer at this show—especially as my very first appointment in the ring as a judge. This is a breed I have loved and admired for the past 15 years, and I am very grateful to the society for the invitation and for making this dream a reality.
Miniature Schnauzer
Puppy ( 4,2A)
1st – Lichstone Wind Of Dreams
– Best Puppy
PS B. Beautiful feminine outline . Correct head and expression when using her ears. A little shy on the table today. Good length of neck flowing into a short, slightly sloping back with a well-set tail. Harsh jacket. I would prefer better front angulation; however, this did not affect her profile movement. Moved out with good reach and makes a very pleasing profile.
2nd –
Winflash Jumping Jingle
Puppy B this one in black . Bigger and longer in outline than the winner, this did though complement her movement, particularly in profile. Presented in correct black colour. Correct head with neat, well-set ears. Well-set and well-carried tail. Quite mature for her age with good spring of rib and well-angulated front and hindquarters. I would just prefer her to be slightly smaller.
⸻
Junior ( 3,1A)
Both quality bitches of correct type.
1st –Kavacay Dream In Time TAF
PS B . Correct breed type with a beautiful head and well-set ears. Good length of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders. Short, slightly sloping back with a well-set tail. Correct harsh jacket, immaculately presented. Confident and positive on the move. Would prefer a little more bend of stifle.
2nd – Nostaw Honeysuckle Rose
PS B Very close to the winner, being only slightly longer in outline but still well balanced. Good head and expression with neat, well-set ears. Correct harsh jacket and well presented. Not fully settled in the ring today, however showed good drive when moving. A very good type with promise for the future.

Post Graduate (6, 2A)
1st – Wallensis Look What I Found For Geomondo JW
PS D. Up to size but of correct type. Beautifully shaped head with neat, well-set ears. Good length of neck flowing smoothly into well-laid shoulders. Excellent front angulation with corresponding rear, standing on strong hocks. Correct, very harsh, well-banded jacket. Not entirely settled with his handler on the move today; however, he remains one of the soundest movers of the day, showing excellent reach and drive. With maturity and further ring training he should be difficult to deny. Pleased to award Reserve Best of Breed.
2nd – Penbro Replica For Devorasjoy
PS B. Very typical bitch with a feminine head and small, well-set ears. Correct harsh jacket, beautifully groomed and presented. Good spring of rib with a short, slightly sloping back flowing into a well-set tail. A little close behind on the move but presents a pleasing profile action.
3rd - Lichstone Midnight Zane

Open Class – What Quality (7, 3A)
1st – Violis Poetic Haiku For Copellastar JW
PS B. A bitch I have admired for some time and she did not disappoint on examination. Feminine and of correct type with a correct brick-shaped head and well-set ears, giving the typical breed expression. Excellently prepared with a harsh jacket groomed to perfection and superbly handled. I would prefer a little more length of neck; however, she is well balanced and presents the outline and shape I was looking for. Outstanding front angulation with equally good rear, allowing her to move freely with drive. Correct front movement, just a touch narrow behind. Correct tail set and carriage throughout. Without hesitation, Best of Breed.
2nd – Victorious Star Arabica EW25
Black B . Beautiful head and expression with good length of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders. Excellent front and rear angulation; possibly the only exhibit on the day to move truly parallel behind. Correct front movement with good drive and a pleasing profile action. Harsh jacket in black. Slightly longer in outline than the winner. Gave serious consideration for Reserve Best of Breed; however, I would have preferred a neater finish around the feet.
3rd - Risepark First Lady Of Heibri JW
⸻
Standard Schnauzer
Post Graduate (1)
1st – Kaiteriteri Hijinx
Four-year-old PS B of good type and strong bone, of correct size. Super head; unfortunately one ear did not consistently set forward, although the ear is of good shape and does not detract greatly from her expression. Good length of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders, giving a pleasing front. I would prefer more bend of stifle and better hindquarter musculature, which results in a somewhat narrow action from behind. Strong, short back with a well-set and well-carried tail. Well presented in a correct harsh jacket.

Open
(3, 1 A)
1st Wyggyfuzz Arete
An eye-catching PS bitch with a very good outline. Good pepper and salt colour with correct base coat. Beautiful rectangular head with well-set ears and a keen expression. Strong neck flowing into a short, strong back with a well-developed body and good spring of rib. She ticks all the boxes of the breed standard, being robust and strongly built. I would prefer a little more length of neck; however, she remains balanced and harmonious. Correct tail set and carriage. Well angulated front and rear, allowing powerful, free movement with good drive from behind. Harsh coat. Very good temperament—keen and a little mischievous at times, which only added to her appeal. Best of Breed.
2nd – Gateclyve Aurora From Kaiteriteri
A beautifully presented 8-year-old bitch who looks super for her age and was a credit to her handler. Well bodied with good spring of rib and correct hindquarters, presenting a nearly square outline typical of the breed. Excellent front with well laid-back shoulders. Correct head and expression giving the characteristic Schnauzer look. Slightly narrow going away but beautiful on the side gait. Kept in correct coat and in superb condition for her age. Reserve Best of Breed
⸻
Giant Schnauzer
Only two representatives of the breed today; however, both were worthy winners, making the decision a close one.
Junior Dog – Reserve Best of Breed
1st Philoma The Professional JW
Black male whom I have admired for some time. He presents a strong rectangular head with good skull-to-muzzle proportions and a keen, alert expression typical of the breed. I would prefer a better set to one ear, though this does not greatly detract from his overall type. Well groomed and presented.
Displays correct temperament—confident, friendly and alert without any sign of shyness. Balanced and square in outline with correct forehand and hindquarter angulation. Good bone and muscle giving an athletic appearance without coarseness. Topline strong and level both standing and on the move with correct tail set and carriage.
Sound and parallel coming and going with hocks remaining true. I would like to see more drive from the hindquarters in profile movement, though he maintains good reach and balance. The difference between him and the BOB winner today is maturity, which time will bring. A very showy young dog with an exciting future ahead.

Open Dog (2, 1A)
1st Ch Simon Templar At Barnsdale
A striking black male who immediately commands attention. Beautiful, well-balanced head with a keen, intelligent expression entirely typical of the breed. Displays excellent temperament—confident, outgoing and responsive.
Well constructed with strong bone and excellent muscle, presenting a powerful outline. Well angulated both front and rear, reflected in strong, purposeful movement with positive rear drive, giving the overall picture expected of a quality Giant Schnauzer.
Presented in superb condition with a harsh, well-prepared jacket and immaculate grooming. Correct tail set, although I would prefer slightly less curl when carried over the back.
A most worthy Best of Breed winner and a pleasure to see him go on to take Group 2.
