Hound Club Of East Anglia

Thank you to the committee of the Hound Club of East Anglia for their invitation to judge at this popular Premier Open Show. Many thanks to my two stewards Sally and Lloyd who helped keep everything in order. My entries were small, but they were full of quality, with my BOB Basenji winning RBIS.

1ST Knights & Stokes, Messers D & J Lelaps River Song Stylish 2-year-old red and white, who is ideal in size and outline. Pretty, breed typical head with the desired wrinkles and dark eyes that give her such an appealing expression. She stands on fine, quality bone with straight, flexible pasterns and neat feet with just enough arch to her toes. Short, level back with a correct tail set and curl, with plenty of shelf behind. Her rear is muscular and moderately angulated with strong, low set hocks. She moved around the ring with a light and flowing action. RBOB

OPEN 3 (1)

1ST Knights & Stokes, Messers D & J Ch Lelaps Time Lord A quality, aristocratic 2-year-old red and white male with a gazelle like grace. I loved his exquisite, masculine head of good proportions with correct cushioning to his cheeks and small, fine, hooded ears. His lovely, crested neck flows into a super topline and he is true and parallel in front with ample infill. His chest is deep with well sprung, oval ribs. His rear quarters are moderate and well-conditioned with length to his second thigh and low set parallel hocks. He moved round the ring with an effortless, long, swinging style. BOB & RBIS

2nd Knights & Stokes, Messers D & J Tokaji Candy Red Apple At Lelaps 6-year-old red and white bitch, who is neat and compact in outline. She has an attractive, shapely head with correctly positioned hooded ears, strength to her underjaw and a correct scissor bite. Good length of neck leading into well-laid shoulders with correct return of upper arm. Her forelegs are straight with fine bone, although she is not as strong in pasterns as I would prefer. Short and level in topline, with a broad loin and high-set tail adequately curled. A free and purposeful mover.

POST GRADUATE 2 (1)

1st Jones, Mrs S B & Mr K R Clanwillow Love And Dreams An impressive12-month-old tri male who is still young and needs to mature - but he is full of promise! He is striking in profile and balanced in angulations fore and aft. I loved his handsome head, which is elegantly domed. His eyes are dark, clean and well-shaped; he has a good depth of muzzle and overlap of flews. His ears are long, velvety and nicely curled. His strong, attractively arched neck flows into a lovely front with a correct return of upper arm and a well-developed fore chest. His back is broad with a good length of ribbing and a short muscular loin. He stands on quality bone, his feet are large and well-padded, his nails beautifully manicured. He moved true in all directions showing reach and drive, with his tail set and carried sabre like. This boy should have a bright future; I absolutely loved him! BOB

1st Jones, Mrs S B & Mr K R Am GCHS Clanwillow Back To The Future Noble 4-year-old tri male. He is a real stallion of a hound and is full of quality and substance. Fabulous, refined head of correct planes and prominent occiput; his nose is large with wide open nostrils. His neck is strong and gracefully arched and fits smoothly into a well-made front assembly. His chest is deep and capacious with good length of ribbing and a short, slightly arched loin. I liked his rear quarters that are broad and super muscled, and his hocks are short and parallel. He powered around the ring and looked lovely in profile. RBOB
