Tibetan Terrier

EASTBOURNE & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY – 23RD August 2026

It was a pleasure to judge Tibetan Terriers today at my local club. Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge. I would also like to thank my steward, Jim, who was friendly as always. Thank you to those who were able to attend. I thoroughly enjoyed my time today.

JUNIOR (4, 1abs)

1st MRS P GILBERT, Gandaki Sashi Sprout (14 months)

A beautifully constructed sable and white bitch, presenting a lovely square, well-balanced outline and excellent overall breed type. Feminine head of good proportions, correct black pigmentation and a pleasing, resolute expression. A good lay of shoulder, with a good depth of chest. Level topline, short loin and good body proportions, with a well-sprung rib and good depth of brisket. Well-muscled hindquarters for her age with good hind angulation, giving her the strength and drive required of the breed.

Lovely coat and overall presentation, with good substance whilst retaining femininity. Particularly pleasing on the move today, showing a smooth, effortless stride with good reach and excellent powerful drive behind. Maintained her topline well throughout and moved with purpose and balance.

A lovely example of the breed with excellent balance, sound construction and very good breed type. Delighted to award her Best of Breed today and I look forward to watching her mature further.

2nd

MRS N KIRKLAND, Kutula Evening Star (8 months)

A young black dog with good pigmentation and lovely dark eyes, well set on the head, giving a pleasing expression. Good depth of chest and a nice amount of substance for his age, with a generally pleasing outline. I would prefer better lay of shoulder. At this stage, I would like to see considerably more maturity and development through the body, particularly in substance and overall finish. These are aspects I hope will improve as he grows and matures.

Settled well on the move today, showing a good attitude and allowing himself to be assessed easily. Lovely to see him presented calmly and confidently, and he handled the ring well.

A nice young dog who will benefit from time to mature and develop. Best Puppy in Breed.

YEARLING (2)

1st MRS P GILBERT, Gandaki Sashi Sprout (14 months)

2nd MRS L WHITE, Araki King Ken Of Teetee (21 months)

A nice sable and white dog presenting with a pleasing square outline with good overall proportions. Good depth of chest and a lovely coat, adding to his overall presentation. I would prefer better lay of shoulder to improve the front assembly and overall balance.

Unfortunately, he was not moving as well as I would have liked today, which made it difficult to fully appreciate his movement and construction. I hope to see him on a better day when he is more settled and able to show himself to his full advantage.

A well-presented dog with some pleasing qualities who I hope will continue to develop and show better movement on another occasion.

POST GRADUATE (3, 2abs)

1st MRS N & MRS M REES & BLAKE, Shamisha’s Butterfly at Blackville (3 years old)

A lovely black and white bitch with a well-balanced front and rear assembly, presenting a pleasing overall picture. Good proportions and balance, with a well-finished coat adding to her overall presentation.

On the move, she would benefit from a slightly slower and more measured pace, allowing her to settle into her stride and show her movement to better advantage. At times she was being encouraged along rather quickly, which made it harder to fully appreciate her natural movement. When the pace was moderated, she showed that she is capable of good drive from behind and moved with much greater balance and purpose.

With a little more confidence in allowing her to find her own natural rhythm, I am sure she can present herself to even better advantage. A pleasing bitch with good construction and a lovely overall picture.

OPEN (2)

1st MRS P GILBERT, Gandaki Rinzen Belle (5 years old)

A lovely black bitch with very good breed type and balance, presenting a lovely square and well-proportioned outline. Good overall construction, with a pleasing front and rear assembly and the substance and proportions I look for in the breed. A feminine head with a good expression and correct pigmentation, completing a very pleasing overall picture.

Just would benefit from more coat to fully finish the picture. On the move, I would like to see a little more confidence and self-assurance, allowing her to settle into her stride and show her movement to her full advantage.

Delighted to award her Reserve Best of Breed today.

2nd MRS L WHITE, Trytez Golden Glow (3 years old)

A pleasing sable bitch with good breed type and a lovely square, well-balanced outline. Good substance and body proportions, with good depth through the chest and a pleasing topline. Good front and rear construction, giving her a sound and balanced framework. Dark pigmentation and a feminine head with a pleasing expression complete the picture.

She has a tight reverse scissor bite. I would like to see a little more confidence and drive on the move.

A well-made bitch with some very pleasing qualities, who I would like to see showing herself with greater confidence and presence in the ring.
