Great Yarmouth Gorleston & District Canine Society, Thursday 18th June 2026  

Many thanks to the team for the invite to judge at your show, was impressed with the overall quality of the dogs today and how the exhibitors looked after them in the heat.  

Thanks also to my main stewards Sarah and Daisy for keeping it moving and their help during the day.

14 month old a red merle bitch, showing no initial reserve, good overall head proportions to body, almond eyes of kind expression, well set, neat ears with rounded tips. Well bodied for age with depth of chest and a clean, moderate length of neck. Coat of good texture and quality; Moderate angulation fore and aft, maintaining a level topline on the move. Sound to and fro agile and smooth.

1st Corben, Mrs P, Stormsett Shadow Dancer via Caprioara 

A 6 year old tri dog, well proportioned of good size, headset dark eye with sweet expression, wedge shaped head and ears are well tipped. Strong neck, nice fore and hind angulations giving sound movement around the ring with reasonably long stride.

1st Blamorder Double or Quits of Oakestelle 

A 2 year old merle bitch, that I have judged when she was a puppy now matured into a feminine bitch, headset of nice wedge shaped, correct head planes, and dark eyes of correct shape and sweet expression, ears are well placed, correctly tipped. A fair length of powerful neck, into sloping shoulders and a straight front, well sprung chest, fore and hind angulations well proportioned and balanced, coat in good overall conditions movement was sound, rear parallel and driven smooth with the desired length of stride.

This 9 month old dog of correct breed type, masculine wedge shaped head, almond eyes of good colour, well muscled, with balanced fore and hind angulation. Nice topline, good ribbing, harsh double coat free from curl. Movement free and strong with reach and drive, shown in good condition.

A 7 month old feminine bitch, headset with a dark eye, strong pigmentation, and a muzzle of good length and strength, nice length of neck flowing into a well placed shoulder. Chest coming along well, standing on well boned forelegs, body of good quality, ribbing, and fore and hind quarters developing well. Movement showed drive in places and a confident attitude for her age.

1st Nevison, Mrs N, Bikquest Envy Blazingstar 

An 18 month old bitch, rich coloured red wheaten, feminine, and well balanced. Headset correct skull planes, dark eyes, good proportions, Ribcage of good length extending well back, with strength over the loin to tail set. Fore and hind quarters angulated well muscled, giving her a sound, free, and easy action in her movement around the ring. A good challenger today.

An 18 month old dog, brother of my previous class winner, masculine dark red wheaten male, showing good condition with good muscle tone. Headset with a well defined stop, good ear set, and dark eyes, strong neck into a sloping shoulder. Stands on quality bone with good feet, chest not too wide, well sprung rib, hind quarters are muscular, moved out well, straight coming and going, keeping his topline.

1st Dawson, Dawson & Parson, Mrs K, Mr G, Miss H, Priorpark Problem Solved 

At just over 3.5 years old, this dogs was in excellent condition, red wheaten, masculine headset with dark eyes, well set ears, strong neck flows into a good shoulder, straight forelegs, well placed elbows, compact feet, a deep, well ribbed body, strong loin and a level topline leading to a correct tail. Hind quarters are muscular with a good turn of stifle, giving good movement was completely true coming and going, showing purposeful reach and drive. A quality dog, well balanced overall, and the handler got the best out of him today.

This dog at just over 2.5 years old, stood alone today, Italian import with much to like about him, good size and masculine, headset well balanced, dark eyes, and well proportioned V-shaped ears. Coat hard and dense, tail set high, moved around the ring straight and true

A nicely developing 7 month old liver bitch, good headset, pear shaped head well presented, ears hanging flat. Neck long to flat sloping shoulder, fore and hind angulations progressing as expected at this age. The coat is in good condition, moving well around the ring.

This feminine bitch approaching 6 years old, presenting in good condition, nice pear shaped head with bright glint in her eyes, front showing typical Bedlington shape, body flat ribbed, leading to natural arch, movement belying her age

2nd Nind, Mr RA Mrs J, Devleigh True Blue 

A blue dog of nearly 2.5 years old, was slightly unsettled on table and floor today, masculine dog, of good size, strong headset, dark eye, low set ears, well proportioned, topline was a little flat and arch not quiet creating that tuck up, on the move would have liked to see more drive in the ring.

1st Porter-Manning & Porter, Woolytop Secret Wispa Among Wallaroo 

A very typical blue bitch approaching 6 years old, balanced, and proportionate, of good size and ratio, carrying plenty of coat with the desired linty texture. Headset nice with a good dark eye, well set ear and a pear shaped head. Good depth of chest, well placed arch, hind quarters are well angulated with low hocks and a correct tail set. Movement was steady and sound with the typical mining around the ring. Giving her the edge to BoB of what I have found out was her sister in RBoB

A nearly 9 month old dog, a masculine headset, relatively long and slightly arched, friendly expression and medium sized ears, clean neck into well laid shoulders and a strong, medium length body, well sprung ribs and developing well for one so young. After being a little unsettled on the table moved brisk with a fair drive around the ring, well presented and handled.

A well presented feminine bitch of 4.5 years old lovely type, showing a balanced headset with long blunt head, medium eyes with a friendly expression, correct scissor bite, a nice reach of neck into balanced fore and hind angulation, deep chested and well sprung ribs. Holding her topline well on the table and on the move with the correct tail carriage. Propulsive movement, brisk but balanced around the ring giving her the edge today.

2nd Weston, Miss L, Wherrypoint Engelbert 

Just over 4 year old dog, dark grey blue, good overall balance, typical headset with dark eye, correct scissor bite and well placed ears, strong neck into good shoulder, another with good spring of rib, a correct topline rising slightly over a well arched loin, coat is in good order with a silky sheen. Today I just preferred the movement of my 1st, but he is a sound dog.

At just over 3 years old this is a nice balanced dog, a masculine but not overdone headset, correct proportions, strong jaw and a friendly eye and expression. Strong neck into a straight foreleg with good bone, strong loin giving the typical topline and tail set. Moved around the ring briskly if a little unsettled

A beautifully balanced just over 2 year old bitch of correct size, with a nice feminine headset of good length with a dark eye giving keen expression and correct scissor bite. Nice fore and hind quarters, short level back with a pleasing topline. She moved with drive and purpose, around the ring.

1st Goodley Miss SL, Ch Spirit Du Manoir Saint Adrien for Thunderail 

A 4.5 year old masculine dog of good bone and substance, standing on small, round feet and presenting a balanced outline. Headset of good proportions with a dark eye, small V-shaped ears, and strong jaw, muscular neck, short back, and correct angulations fore and hind. Moved soundly with a good drive from the rear; handler got the most out of this boy on the day.

A young dog of 10 months old, maturing well, good outline and fair proportions for age, a long head with a dark eye with intelligence glinting through, good reach of neck, holding his topline well on the move and while on the table. Moved with fore and hind legs straight, with good drive around the ring.

A smart masculine 20 month old dog, shows a long, clean headset of fair strength with well set ears and dark eye, powerful jaws, pleasing neck and shoulders, straight front, well ribbed and good depth, level firm topline. Movement was straight to and fro but just was not showing the drive of my BoB today.

On entering the ring this 13 month old dog had an active and lively presence, masculine looking outline, headset with a flat skull, good foreface length, fiery dark eyes and small, well placed ears, clean neck through, firm topline, good fore and hind angulations. Well presented and moving straight forward and parallel, excellent drive from the hind quarters giving him the edge today.

Standing alone today this 8 month old feminine blue brindle bitch with a nice headset with good width, brown expressive eyes, and strong jaw, fore quarters well boned and slightly turned out feet, nice body proportions with a pleasing topline, coat is harsh movement was free in action would like to see a little more drive but that may come with age.

1st Ferguson – Blakeley, Mr N, Carliams Border Force for Dylarno 

A quality puppy dog at just over 6 months old, with a lovely masculine, clean outline, headset of good length, and small dark eyes giving a keen cheeky expression. Jaws are strong with a correct bite and well set ears. A firm topline, with good depth of chest, and a good spring of rib. Fari amount of substance throughout for age, strong feet with straight front limbs, Hind quarters sound rear, harsh coat that was well presented lovely colour. Moved straight to and fro around the ring, well handled to get the most out of him.

1st Redman, Mrs E, Holbam Celtic Little Minx 

A 7 year old feminine bitch of a good overall size, headset long with typical stop, correct bite, dark eye, small V-shaped ears, fair length of neck leading into a straight, strong topline, supported by a fair spring of rib. On the move, she is balanced in profile and overall sound, legs carried straight and parallel. Harsh coat and was well handled in harmony with her exhibitor. Lovely to see her get terrier veteran GR1 and then BViS

At 3.5 years old this dog was presented in good condition. Headset long, with flat skull, nice V-shaped ears, and dark eyes. Deep chest and well sprung ribs, balanced angulations allowing good movement in the ring, harsh and wiry coat giving overall pleasing balance profile.

An 11 month old bitch, showing a smart outline on entering the ring with nice overall balance, headset flat skull, strong muzzle, dark eyes with keen expression, well carried ears. An easy spannable chest and developing fore and hind quarters. On the move she strides out well showing good rear drive around the ring, well handled.

2nd Porter – Manning & Porter, Wallaroo Hocus Pocus 

A feminine 8 month old bitch, still maturing. Overall, for her age well proportioned and showing a typical terrier attitude. Headset well together with moderate width, dark keen eyes and well set ears. She was a little lively on the table but once on the ground moved well showing her angulations balance. 

3rd Rushforth, Miss C, Kaszavolgyi-Furge Ophelia

1st Collins & Powley, Miss D & Miss C, Capshulacan Potoooooooo 

At just 14 months old this bitch is well made and pleasant profile on stack and on the move. Headset, skull flat with moderate width, dark eye, and nice set ears. Coat condition was good; she was happy to be in the ring with the tail never stopping wagging, moved with purpose.

A white and tan bitch, feminine bitch at just over 12 months old, headset moderate, dark eye, good stop, good length of muzzle, fore and hind angulations balanced with fair bone. Held topline on move if a little lively around the ring.

Standing alone this feminine 6 year old bitch not showing her age, lovely headset; dark eye, ears good texture and a clean, balanced outline. Balanced fore and hind quarters, moved around the ring with drive holding her topline.

1st Porter – Manning & Porter, Roxway Sunflower Among Wallaroo 

A 3.5 year old feminine bitch, headset is charming skull flat and moderate, dark keen expressive eyes, fore quarters having elbows set under and well boned straight legs, spannable and with good coat and pelt, moderate angled hind quarter, and a decent tail high set. Movement was good being free striding, with no exaggeration to and fro, giving her the edge today.

A young bitch of just 10 months old correct type with good balance, proportions, and overall quality. Headset has good length of the skull, with correct fill, dark eye giving intelligent expression, neat ears, and large teeth. Good width in front, enough bone for her size, deep chest, short coupled, with a firm topline, tail correctly, set right on top. Moved smooth to and fro around the ring, presented in harsh dense condition. A lot to like about this girl as she matures.

Good front and rear angulation, strong rear, and nice tail set. Moved well on good feet with drive and level gait.

A compact brindle bitch of 4 years old, nice head with length, punishing muzzle and thin ears well set on top, dark eyes with feminine expression, good length of a muscular neck into a clean shoulder, well let down between the forelegs. Moderate front and rear angulation, chest of good width, well sprung ribs and a firm topline, strong rear with correct tail set. Moved with drive and purpose on good feet smooth and free, well presented in a particularly good coat

At nearly 5 years old, this bitch has a nice headset, dark eyes and neat ears slightly larger than the 1st but well balance overall, moved a little erratic around the ring today.

This bitch at nearly 2.5 years old has matured greatly from the first time I saw her in such a short time, Good feminine headset, dark eye, V-shaped ears medium size, body has matured and is compact with powerful short loin, good fore and hind angulation allowing her to gracefully and lively cover the ring with good reach and drive. Presented in excellent coat and handled coordinated with her exhibitor. Was lovely to see her take Group 1 terrier and then to top the day BiS

An excellent 9 month old Lakeland Terrier dog, was showing the bold, friendly, and self confidence that they should as soon as he entered the ring. Well balanced headset with good length, strong foreface, small dark eyes, small ears finishing the look. A slightly arched neck flowing into a firm topline, strong maturing back, well coupled, fore and hind angulations well balanced giving straight and parallel movement around the ring, harsh, coat and well presented, in harmony with his handler. Went on to terrier puppy Group 1 and did not look out of place in the BPiS line up.

1st Davani & Potts Ms C & Mr A, Kebulak Violets Are Blue 

At just 14 months old this Kerry Blue bitch terrier has a gracefulness on the stack, feminine headset, dark eye, small sized ears, on a long proportionally lean head, with an good bite, strong neck flowing into good shoulders, deep chest, topline is level, tail well set and carried. Coat of lovely colour and texture, presented and handled to get the best out of her.

Pleasure to see him still enjoying his day out nearly as much as his exhibitor did.
