HOUND GROUP
Thank you to all who entered their lovely hounds. With 13 quality hounds competing in the group I really was spoilt for choice and it wasn’t easy just placing 4. Thank you also to my steward.
WHIPPET JUNIOR (4, 1 ab)
1. Forrester & MacFarlane’s Collooney Anytime Anyplace at Finix, this.nearly 9 months brindle & white bitch has a balanced outline stacked, long neck, well placed forelegs, good depth of chest and bend of stifle, pleasing feminine head with dark expressive eyes, she moved true and with an easy, long stride in profile.
2. Kortiashvill’s Zenobia For One Night Only, another lovely puppy bitch, a most attractive 7 months fawn with white, very like her dam who was BOB. She has a well balanced outline, straight front, good feet and well bent stifles. She showed well and moved with a free and easy stride in profile and was true in front, just a little close behind.

WHIPPET GRADUATE (6, 2 ab)
1. Parkinson’s Hologem You Were Made For Me, 3 years bitch, brindle with white, a very balanced outline with pleasing head and expression from dark eyes, long neck, straight front, good feet, strong well developed hindquarters with well bent stifles and short hocks, she moved well away and back and in profile.
2. Uytman’s Cornstalk Bright Moon, 2 years fawn bitch who moved very well, slightly heavier build than 1. She has a good length of neck, depth of chest and bend of stifle. Her nails were rather long.

WHIPPET OPEN (6, 2 ab)
1. Finch’s Zenobia Love Actually JW, beautiful 3 years bitch, fawn with white, last time I judged this girl I gave her BOB, HG2 and Best Hound Puppy. Gorgeous feminine head, her dark well shaped eyes have a bright appealing expression. She is so well balanced without any exaggeration, long neck, forelegs of ideal bone and straight down to very good feet, stifles well bent with short hocks. She is a pleasure to watch on the move as she covers the ground with a light, free and easy action. It was a pleasure to award her BOB and HG3 in a very strong group. Thank you for bringing her.
2. Hunter’s Ch Collooney Was Meant To Be at Sulahmara JW ShCEx OSW, I last judged this 4½ year old brindle and white dog outdoors in July 2023 when he did not like the wet and windy weather. He has since gained his well deserved title. He was much happier indoors and showed off his true movement front and behind with long easy strides in profile. Pleasing head, eye and expression, well balanced in outline with good neck and topline, straight front and well bent stifles with well let down hocks. Close decision, he didn’t put a foot wrong, just unlucky to meet 1 today.
3.Parkinson’s Groomsville Hologem Heavens Dream
BORZOI OPEN (3, 1 ab)
1. Dollan’s Scotach High And Mighty, this 4 year old is obviously male but retains an elegant appearance, well balanced in outline with graceful curve, head is long, lean and masculine, good front, correct bone and feet, hindquarters well developed with good angulation, well coated, moved very well with good reach.
2. Dollan’s Scotach Need For Speed, sister of 1 and totally feminine in appearance, long, lean and feminine head, dark eyes, she has a balanced outline with curved topline and well balanced fall away into well angulated hindquarters. She seemed a little tense standing which spoiled her outline a little but moved beautifully round the ring. She was more relaxed while standing for critique.
BASSET HOUND GRADUATE (1)
1. Mcnamara’s Burnvale Echoes And Shadows, 17 months dark tri dog, typical head which was masculine, long ears set on low, prominent breastbone, deep in body with level topline, strong bone, well developed quarters and good turn of stifle. Moved soundly and freely.
BASSET HOUND OPEN (2)
1. Johnston’s Blevwil Ron Like The Wind to Burnvale, 2 years dog, dark tri, nicely balanced in body with level topline, good angulation in strong hindquarters, very well boned, masculine well proportioned head with long, low set ears. Outgoing, happy character who moved soundly away and back and effortlessly in profile with good ground clearance. BOB.
2. Johnston’s Burnvale Echoes And Dreams JW, R/W sister of graduate, very feminine, she too is well balanced in body holding a level topline, good angulation of hindquarters, well proportioned head with pleasing expression, long ears set on low, very sound on the move.
RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK GRADUATE (3, 1 ab)
1. Willunat’s Clauwill Oliver Junior, 8 months red wheaten dog, a handsome young boy who is maturing nicely, pleasing head with defined stop and an appealing, inquisitive expression, he has very good bone, straight front and compact feet, very well balanced, hindquarters nicely angulated, he showed and moved very well.
2. Scanlon’s Kinabula’s Beat Of My Heart, 21 months wheaten bitch, a lovely feminine girl I liked very much so a close decision, lovely head and expression and a happy temperament, good length of neck, straight forelegs down to good feet, balanced outline, showed and moved well.
RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK OPEN (3)
A lovely trio of girls, I was splitting hairs as all of them are worthy of 1st. The 3rd placed was my HG1 winner nearly 2 years ago which shows the quality of the class.
1. Ritchie’s Jimanns Hell On Heels ShCEx, this 3 year old red wheaten has a lovely balanced outline standing, deep chest, strong bone and straight front, good length of neck, well laid shoulders, good topline and well bent stifles. Her head is feminine with dark eye. She impressed with her super sound movement. Pleased to award her BOB & HG4 in the strong group.
2. Clark-MacLean’s Callmn’s Cut The Crop, this 4 year old red wheaten also has a lovely outline stacked, well boned legs, good depth of chest and topline, stifles well bent, balanced feminine head, black nose, preferred slightly darker eye of 1, moved well in front, just slightly close behind.
3. Black & McKinlay’s Asharaa Stars In Your Eyes at Gileeja
DEERHOUND GRADUATE (2)
1. McLean’s Vin-De-Loire Du Triple Bois (Imp Fr), 21 months bitch who has a pleasing head and expression from dark eyes. Forelegs straight down to well knuckled feet, deep chest, long neck, ideal topline leading to strong hindquarters with well bent stifles. Moved soundly both ways and with a long easy stride in profile. BOB
2. Senior’s Tighmonadh Midnight Sky, 14 months bitch who showed very well at her first show, nice head with appealing expression, good length of neck, correct topline, good hind angulation, moved well in profile, not quite the front movement of 1.
DEERHOUND OPEN (2, 1 ab)
1. Senior’s Tighmonadh Torveys Touch, sister of 2nd in previous class, a very happy and outgoing temperament, pleasing head with dark eyes, well balanced outline, good length of neck, deep chest and well angulated hindquarters, correct topline, lovely long striding profile movement.
BASENJI OPEN (2)
1. Legget’s UK/IR Ch Swanwite Take A Chance On Me ShCEx, a pleasure to judge this top winning 7 year old boy. Showing no signs of age, good head with small pointed ears carried on crested neck, forelegs straight but would just like better feet, perfectly balanced with short back. He is such a showman and moves so well especially in profile moving proudly round the ring with long reaching strides.
2. Legget’s Here We Go Again at Swanwite JW, 14 months tri bitch who was a bit of a handful today! She has lots to like, good head and ears, crested neck, lovely balanced compact outline, good feet and bone, needed to settle away and back but moved with a lovely stride in profile.
AFGHAN HOUND OPEN (3, 2 ab)
1. Thomson’s Cloudside Snow Prince, 18 months cream dog who was not happy to stand today making it difficult to go over him. Good head, correct mouth, dark eye, well boned legs, well coated, moved very soundly away and back.
SALUKI OPEN (4)
1. Phillips’ Ch Luachmhar Jamilah ShCEx, 5 years bitch, worthy champion who stood out in this class, feminine head long and narrow, long neck into well laid back shoulders, forelegs straight, deep chest, well developed hindquarters with short hocks, overall very well balanced, she excels in profile movement, flowing effortlessly over the ground with reach and drive. Shortlisted in final 6 in hound group.
2. Phillips’ Luachmhar Jala, black & tan sister of 1 but quite different in type but still well balanced. Nice feminine head and expression, good length of neck and depth of chest, straight front, she moved well.

DACHSHUND (LONG-HAIRED) OPEN (1)
1. Mcgavigan & Pettigrew’s Pettigans Chanson D’Amour, 19 months red bitch in super coat and condition, well shaped head with dark eye, well boned legs, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, overall well balanced, lovely sound mover with good ground clearance.
DACHSHUND (MINIATURE LONG-HAIRED) OPEN (3)
1. Thomson’s Rivandell Sirius Black, 18 months dog, lovely head and dark eye, good bone, well balanced outline, in super coat and condition, moved soundly with drive.
2. Morrin’s Zilcan Vanilla Ice for Arlatdax JW, 2 years dog, very similar to 1 and a close decision, could change places another day, good head, topline, bone and balance. Lovely coat and condition. Another sound mover.
3. Morrin’s Zilcan Magic Moments for Arlatdax JW, another good mover completing a lovely trio.
DACHSHUND (SMOOTH-HAIRED) OPEN (3, 1 ab)
1. Balfour’s Clentry Mango Passion, 4 years red bitch who I gave HG2 nearly 2 years ago. She looks as good as ever, lovely head and expression from dark eyes, good length of neck into level topline, beautifully balanced outline, well boned with good feet, well developed and angulated hindquarters, in lovely condition, she is so sound on the move and strides out well in profile. She could not be denied another HG2 in strong competition.
2. Balfour’s Clentry Steal The Limelight, 21 months red bitch, this girl also has a lovely head and expression, she is well balanced in outline and angulation. Her movement is lovely in profile and she moves well in front, just a touch close behind.
DACHSHUND (MINIATURE SMOOTH-HAIRED) OPEN (1)
1. Bain’s Jenivon Jewel at Wenichones nearly 11 months black & tan bitch, what a super puppy this is, there is so much to like, she has a lovely head and expression, long neck, correctly placed well boned forelegs, balanced angulation front and rear. She has a lovely outline stacked but she looks even better when she moves, she is so sound both ways and impressive in profile moving with reach and drive holding her topline perfectly. She never tired however many times she was moved. Shortlisted in final 6 in group and won hound puppy.
AVNSC HOUND OPEN (4, 1 ab)
1. Gold’s Ch Graythor At The Venetian with Llassah, Norwegian Elkhound, 5 years dog I haven’t seen before. I found him to have a very well balanced square outline. A quality dog who fitted the standard so well in all departments, wedge shaped head, well set ears, friendly expression from dark eyes, excellent neck and body proportions, good bone and feet, very good coat, very attentive to his handler, excellent on the move front, behind and in profile. He had tough competition in the hound group but there was just something about him which took my eye and I couldn’t deny him HG1.
2. Gold’s Ravenheim Blue Mystique of Llassah, 11 months Norwegian Elkhound, daughter of the winner. I really liked this youngster, she shows lots of promise, good square outline, sturdy yet feminine, forelegs straight with good bone and good feet. Pleasing head and dark eyes giving a cheeky but attentive expression, full of character. She moved and showed very well.

What a lovely class of veterans, wish I could have placed them all. I was pleased to hear that the 2nd and 4th placed gained the final points for their VW.
1. Willunat’s Multi Int Ch Shavano’s Quality of Life By Oliver JW OSW ShCEx, Rhodesian Ridgeback, I gave this boy HG1 when I last judged him in July 2023, now 7 years old and still as handsome, not showing his age. Masculine head, well balanced in outline, straight front and deep chest, very good bone and feet, strong hindquarters which are well angulated. His movement is still excellent in both directions and he retains his lovely free striding profile movement covering the ground with ease. I am told he already has his VW.
2. Uk/Ir Ch Swanwite Take A Chance On Me ShCEx
3. Forrester & Nisbet’s Ch Pramya Hot But Not Blonde at Finix (Imp Fin), a beautiful afghan ably shown by her very young handler.
