My thanks to the committee for the kind invitation to officiate at your shows today and to my stewards who kept the ring running like clockwork. 

LABRADOR RETRIEVER

PUPPY (2,1)

Rochevale Primose of Lonicerium. Yellow bitch, very raw with time on her side. Liked her for size and proportionate bone. Prettiest of heads with dark eye and kind expression. Holds a firm topline with decent body for age. Well bent stifles with wide thighs. Moves with drive, in good coat. BP

JUNIOR (3,0)

Foxrush Hope So JW. Yellow bitch, one I’ve judged before and pleased to see her more mature! Still like her very much for obvious balance and breed type. Beautiful head and eye with width to her back skull and muzzle. Strong neck that flows into an excellent shoulder, stands on well-boned limbs and neat feet. Excellent body with a strong topline and thick tail. Corresponding rear angles. Shows balance, strength and a bit of style on the move. BOB

Tanronens Yuletide Angel. Another yellow bitch, made in a slightly longer and bigger overall cast than 1 but with lots of type and appeal. Liked her broad head, strong muzzle and dark eye. Strong neck that flows into well laid shoulders, good length of leg with ample substance. Correct topline and decent underline. Thick tail that comes straight off the back. Took her time to settle but moved well once she did. Just preferred the length of body on 1 today.

POST GRADUATE (5,3)

Handialla Lockdown Girl. Yellow bitch, appealed greatly for type and shape. Pretty head and expression with correctly sized ears. Good flow of neck into forehand, well boned limbs and neat feet. Good spring of rib, firm topline and well angulated rear. Very good overall mover, maintaining her shape.

Edenwood Hinch. Chocolate dog, liked him a great deal for overall size and shape. Such a typical, clean head with the kindest of expressions and correct eye colour. Super neck and forehand with tight feet. Excellent topline with a well-made rear assembly. Presented in excellent coat/condition. A steady, honest mover all round but just preferred the drive of 1 today.

OPEN (3,1)

Rochevale Palm Reader JW. Black bitch. One I have admired on numerous occasions before. Excellent head with dark eyes, good pigment, just preferred the width and depth of muzzle of 1. Correct reach of neck into an excellent forehand with ample bone and good feet. Deep brisket and big ribs, needs to firm up in her topline with age. Correct croup and tail set. Wide quarters with good bend of stifle and short hocks. Carries herself with style on the move but today just couldn’t fully show what she is capable of in the smaller ring. RBOB

Lonicerium Jack Sparra. Yellow dog, who appeals greatly for type and substance. Classic head and expression with no hint of coarseness. Decent layback of shoulder but would prefer a shade more angle to his upper arm. Straight limbs and neat feet. Excellent spring of rib and strong topline with well angulated hindquarters. Coat was not at its best today. Sound going/coming, using his tail at all times on the move.

JUNIOR (2,1)

Treskha Veuve Clicquot. What a delightful puppy she is in looks and temperament! Loved her square shape and excellent balance of angulation. Typical head shape in profile with obvious femininity, just needs to grow into her ears but she has plenty of time! Strong neck into well made forehand with strongly boned limbs and neat feet. Well developed through her middlepiece for age with a firm rear assembly and tightly curled tail. Presented in excellent coat. On the move she shows excellent coordination and balance from all angles. She pushed my Open winner all the way, delighted to award her RBOB & BP!

OPEN (3,1)

Bowerhinton Bombette VW. Phenomenal 10-year old bitch! Loved her type, shape and balance all through. Quality head and expression with clean cheeks and ears used to advantage. Excellent forehand angulation with a firm topline, mature through her body, strongly made rear and correctly carried tail. In excellent coat and condition. Very easy mover all round, could watch her all day. My pleasure to award her BOB!

Laasko Esko at Elskerdeg. This male is a real stallion. Squarely built and makes his presence felt as soon as he enters the ring. Masculine head and keen expression with dark eyes and firm ears. Strong, well-shaped neck that flows into an excellent forehand with straight limbs and near feet. Mature through his body with a firm topline. Liked his width of thigh but just preferred the bend of stifle on 1 today. Energetic mover who maintains his shape all times. Also presented in good order. 

RHODESIAN RIDGEBACK 

This was a real quality entry through all the classes and Open had me spoilt for choice - thank you all! 

PUPPY (2,1)

Delianza She’s Timeless. What a classy youngster this young bitch is! So clean in shape with excellent overall balance of proportions with excellent substance without compromising her athleticism. Typical head shape in profile with correct proportions, strong muzzle with dark eyes and correct wrinkling but needs to develop further with time. Reachy neck into well-made forehand with straight limbs and excellent feet. Good body development for age with excellent topline and underline, strong through the loin with correct rear angulation and firm hocks. Her croup slopes correctly to enable her tail to be carried level. Demonstrates such excellent coordination going/coming for her age and simply eats up the ground on the go-round while holding her shape. Should go all the way with a bit to spare! BP

JUNIOR (2,0)

Colkeririn To The Nines JW. Felt she was in a bit of an inbetween stage given her age but she presented such a lovely shape on first glance being curvy with strength. Pretty head with clean flews, defined stop and typical expression. Long neck that flows into a good forehand assembly with chance to develop further. Straight limbs, would prefer her a fraction shorter in front pastern to be critical but still retains neat feet. Good body development with time to mature further. Firm topline and underline. Well-off for rear angulation with slight slope to croup. Such an easy, ground-covering action on the move. I feel she will go on to do well once she matures. 

Bikquest Sunshine Ember. Judged her before and pleased to see she has come on. A bit more compact and up on her leg compared to 1 but liked her strong bone and well-muscled body condition. Typical head and expression with thin lips and correctly sized ears. Moderate but balanced angulation fore/aft, loved her compact feet! Very active mover and sound going/coming. Excellent temperament.

POST GRADUATE (3,1)

Bikquest Envy Blazingstar. Another who I’ve judged before and felt she has improved with maturity. A very honest bitch who is moderately angled fore/aft. Loved her head and expression. Really liked her bone and feet. Carries herself well on the move from all angles and is very sound. In excellent coat and condition.

Stasimelsie Ashwagandha. Liked her for size and good bone. Pretty head and eye, using her ears well. Reachy neck into decent forehand. Well bodied up with symmetrical hind assembly. Sound mover from all angles, preferred the overall outline for 1. 

LIMIT (3,0)

Priorpark Pride And Joy To Nzuri JW. Liked her shape and balance of angulation very much. Well shaped back skull but would prefer a bit more strength to her muzzle. Lovely bone and feet. Correct angulation fore/aft with well developed body, would just prefer her a bit shorter for ideal balance. Grand mover from all angles, maintaining her shape. 

Dabola Lola. An impressive dog with rich colour and a commanding presence. Well proportioned, masculine head with good eye colour. Strong neck with width between the shoulders. His angulation both fore/aft is moderate but balanced. Level topline, excellent bone and feet. A sound mover who displays an impressive carriage from the side.

OPEN (3,0) - What a class, 3 entries and all champions! This gave me a headache for all the right reasons!

Ch Delianza What’s Your Motive JW. One I’ve admired previously who missed out on the top award because he flagged in the challenge. Being still a relatively young dog, I also feel like he has matured even more since last seeing him. Delighted to see him return again where he was most definitely on his toes! A most upstanding and impressive male of excellent breed type and quality. Clean, masculine head with a flat skull, ample wrinkling and strong muzzle. Very good shape to his neck which flows into an excellent forehand. He possesses strong bone with excellent feet. Level topline, well developed underline and symmetrical rear angulation. On the move he retained his quietly confident composure and displayed correct footfall with balanced reach and drive. He made himself undeniable today in excellent company. My pleasure to award him BOB!

Ch. Gunthwaites Red Hot Rose. Interestingly, she was my BOB previously against today’s winner and I am pleased to see she has gained her well deserved title since! Still impresses greatly for type and symmetry. Super head showing ample wrinkle, flat skull and power through her muzzle without losing her femininity. Long neck that flows into an excellent shoulder and long upper arm. Well-boned, straight limbs with tight feet. Excellent breath through her body and quarters with a defined underline. To be critical, her croup is a shade steep but she has excellent angulation and firm hocks. Goes with real panache on the move but didn’t quite settle to the same degree as 1 in a smaller ring. Put down in first class order and could not be denied RBOB today.
