Monday 31st August 2026

Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to thank the officers and committee for their kind invitation to judge at this lovely show. A small agricultural show to the west of Swansea, in a lovely setting. A shame it clashed with hound day at Driffield, delighted with the dogs I had the honour of judging. A huge thank you to all the exhibitors for the pleasure of your dogs.

Border Terrier

Puppy (6,0) – A lovely class of youngsters, thank you

1. Miss Bevan - Bigginpeak Stanage Spirit At Daeargi

Very promising 9 month old G&T dog, showing overall balance and pleasing proportions. He has an attractive head with good width to the back skull and strength through the foreface. Neat, well placed ears and a dark eye give him a keen, alert expression. Ribs have the right amount of spring, allowing him to be spanned easily, and he holds a firm topline throughout. Clean and tidy on the move, showing positive drive. Coat of harsh texture. BP

2. Lowe & Miles - Rockslade Rave Review

So much to admire in this 10 month old G&T bitch, close up to the winner. She presents a lovely outline when stood, feminine and well balanced. Attractive head of good proportions with a lovely expression, very attentive to her handler. I liked her depth and fill of forechest; easily spannable. Ribcage carried well back to strong hindquarters. Well presented in a harsh jacket.

Liked the overall shape and size of this B&T bitch, who has just turned 2. Very feminine head with a dark, keen and slightly mischievous eye. Good length of neck and depth to the brisket, easy to span. Today not holding her topline quite as firmly as the winner. Showed drive on the move.

3. Mr & Mrs Morgan - Beannachd Loch A Nagar

1. Lowe & Miles - Rockslade Rebel Rebel

17 month old G&T bitch who showed herself off with great confidence. Very feminine, nothing overdone, a workmanlike terrier. Nicely balanced otter head with a keen expression from her dark eyes. Good length of neck flowing into a firm, well held topline. Depth to the brisket while retaining the desired narrowness, easily spannable. Her harsh textured jacket is well presented. Moving with lovely drive from the rear and an easy, fluid side gait. BOB

2. Ms Cray - Rockslade Risque Romance

Mature 5 year old G&T dog with good overall proportions. Pleasing masculine head, showing width to the backskull and a short, strong foreface. Good spring and depth to the ribcage. Tending to lose his topline a fraction today. Carrying a slightly heavier coat, but of good texture with a thick pelt.

1. Evans & Lloyd-Jones - Kinnegans Sweet Home At Blodaugoch(IKC)

Delightful 15 month old fawn bitch who combines feminine strength with elegance to present a smart outline. Typical feminine head of good length and strength, nicely chiselled, with a lovely expression. Her long neck flows gracefully into a well held topline. Now beginning to mature through the body, though still needing time. Strong hindquarters with a good bend of stifle, which she used to drive cleanly around the ring. BOB

Good length of neck and decent fill of forechest, straight front, holding a firm topline. Used her well angulated hindquarters to propel herself cleanly around the ring. Presented in a harsh textured coat.

Litter sister to the winner, a compact sable & white bitch with much to admire. She is alert and carries herself well. Her head is nicely balanced, with correct proportions, a dark eye and well placed ears. She has a good length of neck flowing into a firm, well held topline and a well set tail. Shows good depth and spring of rib. Today just not quite as tidy in front as her sister. Nicely presented in a harsh coat

1. Mr & Mrs Murphy - Bayard Seal Of Approval At Rhosyndu JW

Very smart 2 year old tri dog who looked a picture on the stack, being of nice size and balance. Masculine head with a well shaped skull and strength through the foreface, his dark eyes and pigmentation lend a notably soft and appealing expression. Shows lovely depth and ribbing, holding a firm topline at all times. Presented in super condition and making full use of his strong hindquarters to drive cleanly around the ring. BOB & Group 1 – Delighted to hear he later went all the way to BIS - Congratulations

2. Miss Daniels - Michelroy Earl Grey

Sturdy 17 month old dark tri dog who is maturing along the right lines. Masculine head with a dark eye and good pigmentation, complemented by long, fine, low set ears. Shows good depth of brisket and a nicely filled forechest. Forelegs display strong, round bone down to tight feet. Holds a firm topline with good carriage of the stern. Not quite the front action of the winner today, but shows super drive from behind

1. Mrs Cornell - Braveair Pawsforthought From Bronllys JW

3 year old tri hound of good substance and workmanlike appearance. Presents a balanced outline when stood. Masculine head with a slight dome to the backskull and strength through the foreface; his dark eye lends a gentle expression. I would prefer a little less dewlap, but he has a lovely clean, straight front on well boned limbs. Well developed in body, holding a firm topline and showing strong hindquarters. Moved true and with drive.

2. Mr & Mrs Murphy - Felinoak Gossip At Rhosyndu

Lovely 2 year old tri bitch, undoubtedly feminine, combining strength with refined elegance. Pretty head and pleasing expression. Good length of neck leading to a well filled forechest and good round bone. Her ribs are well sprung and carried back to a strong loin with a well carried stern. Just felt she was not moving as well as the first today, losing her topline fractionally on the go around, but there is so much to admire in her overall quality.

Dachshund (Long-Haired)

1. Mr Lewis - Trixhund Crystal Royale

Quite striking and very promising 9 month old silver dapple & tan bitch. Her body lines are graceful and functional. Lovely headpiece, well proportioned skull to foreface, with a dark almond eye giving a sweet expression. Neck of good length and slightly arched, flowing into a firm topline. Well developed in front with correct clearance. Moving well, just not the side gait today of her kennel mate, but a close decision. BP & Puppy Group 2

1. Miss Ham - Ciselsig Hey There Delilah JW

2 year old shaded red bitch, unfortunately a little unsettled today with the very noisy agricultural show. Thought her to be of a pleasing shape and size. Feminine, conical head in good proportion, with dark almond eyes and pigmentation giving a soft expression. Good length of neck and a well developed forechest. Tending to be a little soft in her topline today. Strong, wide quarters. Moved with drive.

1. Mr & Mrs Ham - Ravensett Ashkan

4 year old dog who I admired for type and graceful, flowing lines. He is masculine yet carries an air of elegance. Handsome head of good length, with a dark oval eye and long ears giving a noble expression. Good length of neck and pleasing fill in of forechest, holding a good topline and underline. Smooth and powerful in his side gait, just a little loose in front. Presented in good condition. BOB

2. Mrs Rabey-Wilkinson - Waqiiq V’T Swartshof For Greatplains (Imp Nld)

What a super ambassador for the breed, looking in fine fettle for 9½ years old. When stood he presents a shapely and elegant outline. Lovely head, long with moderate width to the backskull, dark eyes, and long silky fringed ears framing his face. Good length of neck and depth to the brisket. Decent in topline and underline to moderate hindquarters. Liked his clean front action and parallel rear, just lacking the drive in profile today.

Whippet

Puppy (3,1)

1. Miss Lunn - Starceylon She’s Just A Rose

Promising 11 month old brindle bitch, when stood she has a curvy, attractive outline. She is very feminine and of a nice size. A little unsettled to start with, but soon gained confidence and showed herself to advantage. Long, lean head with neat rose ears and a dark oval eye. Clean neck of good length. Liked her fill in of forechest and good depth. Moving out cleanly in all directions. BP & Puppy Group 3

2. Thomas & James - Plushcourt Golden Lace For Kevdon

Nice outline on this 8 month old fawn bitch, though not quite as together as the winner. Feminine head of good length with a dark, kind eye. Developing in the body, just needing to finish filling in forechest, and showing a definite tuck up with an arch over the loin. Needing time to settle on the move.

Graduate (5,4)

1. Ms Perkins - Silkridge Figgy Pudding With Zeglynn JW

Attractive and shapely 20 month old brindle dog. Handsome head, long and lean, with a lovely dark oval eye, flat between his neat rose ears. Good length of neck with a decent fill in of forechest. Chest is well let down, with a rise over the loin. Strong hindquarters, and he put them to good use to drive around the ring, with good parallel width, just a little untidy in front today.

Limit (4,3)

1. Ms Perkins - Zeglynn Bee Liever

Much to like on this 16 month old brindle dog, a slightly sturdier type and all male, shown in super muscle tone. Masculine elegance to his long, lean head, flat skull and dark oval eyes giving a lovely expression. Muscular neck showing a slight arch, with a decent fill in of forechest. He stands on straight, bladed bone limbs and well arched feet. Holding the correct topline and underline to his strong, well bent hindquarters. Moved out true fore and aft; today just a little more lift in front.

1. Ms Price - Kierpark Moonlight Shadow Among Silkdance JW

Taken with the overall picture on this 4 year old fawn brindle dog. He is nicely balanced and stands foursquare. He has masculine elegance and is pleasingly curvy. Long, lean head with tapering muzzle and a slight stop between his dark oval eyes. Muscular neck flowing into a well held topline, showing the graceful arch over the loins, with depth and fill of forechest. Strong, nicely angulated hindquarters. Liked his ground covering action whilst still showing the daisy cutting front. BOB & Group 4

2. Dr Thompson - Bytheiad Abracadabra Arwel

5 year old fawn with white trim, shown in lovely condition, though not quite the overall balance of the winner as he has a little more length of leg. Masculine head of good length, with small fine ears and a dark, kind eye. Good length of neck and a decent fill of forechest. His topline shows the rise over the loin. A little loose in his front action, but he has good width and a parallel rear with drive.

3. Ms Perkins - Silkridge Rapture With Zeglynn

1. Mrs Webb - Madelion Lady Dementer (Afghan)

Just loved this 10 month old Black & Tan Afghan bitch, naughty but so very nice. She has a dignified air combined with a hint of mischief. Quality head, showing good length and feminine strength, her dark triangular eyes conveying that sparkle. Neck of good length flowing into a firm topline, with good width to the hip bones, chest developing nicely, and hindquarters long from hip to hock, with a well carried tail complete with ring. So sound with a proud carriage for one so young and excitable, a pleasure to watch. BP & BAVNSC & Puppy Group 1

2. Mr & Mrs Davies - Kenbloom Twister Prince (Wire-haired Dach)

Smart 15 month old wild boar dog, both dog and handler new to this showing lark, but both overcame their nerves to perform admirably. A little unsure to start with, but by the second class he was striding out like an old pro. He has a pleasing overall stamp; liked his masculine conical head with a lovely dark eye and expression. Holding a firm topline when settled, with depth to the brisket but also the desired ground clearance. Moved with lovely drive from the rear.

2. Mr & Mrs Paisey - Hyndsight Fields Of Gold (Deerhound)

A very sprightly Deerhound bitch, just a few days short of her 9th birthday. She was not making it easy for her handler today. Liked her overall size and substance, combining to give a shapely outline. Lovely headpiece, nicely tapering from her flat skull, with a keen dark eye and neat ears. Good length of neck, and deep in brisket between straight forelegs. She has broad hindquarters and good length from hip to hock. Just very unsettled on the move. Presented in a thick, harsh jacket.

Sturdy and robust 7 year old tan & white Beagle dog, with good bone and substance and a lovely flow to his outline. Masculine head of good length, with a dark eye.
