WESTMORELAND COUNTY SHOW - 10/09/26

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at their show. My ring stewards, Wendy & Sandy were friendly and efficient, so thank you. For those who haven’t been before, I would highly recommend exhibiting, as entry includes a fantastic day out at a major agricultural show.

P (3,2AB) Haughton’s Chorbeck Star Girl. This well schooled 8 month bitch ticks all the boxes for me and one that will have a bright future. Liked her overall conformation, along with a good pelt and quality harsh coat. Good head which is moderately broad, small dark eyes, and well placed ears. Good bone, straight in front, slight fore chest. Fairly level topline that carries on to a good tail set. Well angulated in hind quarters and moved well. Pleased to award her TG2,TPG1 J (2,2) 1. Fawcett’s Beaconpike Pontus by Carrock. Stronger head than 1, with correct stop, eyes and ears. Straight forelegs which were longer than 1. Excellent top coat, level back. Preferred the balance of 1. Sp.Y (5,2) 1. Junior winner. 2. Fawcett’s Carrock Crickhowell. Petite, shy bitch, with lots to like from her expression which is so sweet, short fore face, level back, strong rear with short hocks and wearing a good quality jacket. PG (5,2) 1. Lawrence & Scrimgeor’s Comalegy Lady of the House with Fiadhaich. Petite but balanced bitch. Head of good width, lovely dark eyes, strong fore face. A faster pace on the move is recommended. O (1,0) Rice’s Oh La Kamee Nickers at Duchmorn. Feminine bitch of 4 1/2yrs of good breed type. Lovely eyes, good length of neck onto a well proportioned body. Back short and strong, long thighs onto short hocks but would prefer straighter pasterns. Moved well. BOB.TG4

This well balanced, junior bitch is soundly made and displays the lively and spirited temperament of this breed. Well proportioned head with an intense expression with her lovely dark, almond shaped eyes, full of character, looking straight at you. Good nose, prefer ear set to be slightly closer but she used those ears well, being alert at all times. She has an elegant neck, slight fore chest, deep chest, level back and good rear angulation. Correct harsh coat, in good condition and moved well. BOB TG1 2. Bamber’s Gracie May. Good length of head, ear set good but a bit light. Muscular chest, well ribbed back. Very harsh coat, lacking some furnishings. O (1,0) Hardman & Bamber’s Bonosue Shooting Star. This bitch has a wicked expression and has such wonderful eyes. Another with light ears.
