I would like to extend my thanks to the Northwest Golden retriever club for the opportunity to judge at their show. My stewards worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of the ring, my grateful thanks to them.

To the exhibitors who took my placings with grace, thank you for bringing your girls today.

As this is a breed I cherish, I was a little surprised to see incorrect feet on a number of them, sadly there was more than a few incorrectly shaped feet.

The placings were influenced by some of the bitches unfortunately carrying a little extra weight. Thank you to my co judge, Sally Main happy to say we agreed on all our principal winners.

A little different in outline but such a sweet baby, dark pigment, well coated and moved ok.

A pretty balanced young girl, just at the right stage for her development, a little loose on the move, but this will change as she matures.

A close decision between these two, lovely balance, good reach of neck, just felt 1st had the edge on the balance this time. Moved freely

A lovely class of puppies, who could change places on another day

This puppy took my eye when she entered the ring, such balance for one so young, feminine head with excellent pigment, good reach of neck into well laid shoulder, level topline which she held on the move, good tailset which she used on the move. She also covered the ground effortlessly with drive.

2nd Taylor Miss CA & Mr MD Tenn STRETTONHILLS BEES KNEES

Another quality feminine puppy bitch with many of the attributes of 1, neat catlike feet, strength in her hocks, moved out with drive.

Light gold balanced bitch, nothing overdone, balanced head, with dark eye, good flow from neck to shoulders, deep in chest, balanced fore & aft, carried a strong topline which she held on the move. Enough bone and catlike feet, moved with good forward reach.
