Schnauzer Club Of Great Britain

Schnauzer Club of Great Britain Open Show – 16 August 2026

I would like to begin by extending my sincere thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge, and to all the exhibitors who took the time out of their busy schedules to attend and support the show. Despite it being another warm day, there was a lovely atmosphere around the ring, and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Baby Puppy Bitch (1 Entry / 0 Abs)

1ST DAVIDSON & LAWTON-HUMPHRIES LUMILLION LOVE ON THE RUN WITH KASHOLA - A lovely 5-month-old P&S bitch with a feminine head, dark eye and smart V-shaped ears. She presented a pleasing, well-balanced outline and is sturdy in build, already showing ample rib for her age. Her tail is well set and carried high. She moved well in profile. Her chest needs to tighten, but this should come with maturity. A delightful youngster with a super attitude who was clearly enjoying her time in the show ring. I look forward to seeing how she develops and matures throughout the year. BEST BABY PUPPY IN BREED

Veteran Dog/Bitch (1 Entry / 0 Abs)

1st KRIEGER’S SCHNAUSTAR BLACK PEARL - Small 9-year-old black bitch with a feminine head and neat, well-set ears. She has a good spring of rib and was presented in lovely condition for her age. Her tail set is a little low for my liking, although on the move she carries it merrily. Moved ok, although I felt the heat may have affected her performance a little on the day. A lovely veteran who was a pleasure to see enjoying her time in the ring. BEST VETERAN IN BREED

Puppy Dog (3 Entries / 0 Abs)

1st MCDERMOTT’S LICHSTONE MIDNIGHT MYKOLA - A smart 10-month-old B&S with a strong, well-proportioned head, dark eyes and a correct scissor bite. Good length of neck with a slight arch, flowing nicely into the shoulders. Presented a pleasing, balanced outline with a good spring of rib. Excellent colour and texture to his jacket, complemented by defined silver markings. Moved well and showed plenty of promise. I look forward to seeing how he develops and matures over the coming months. BEST PUPPY IN BREED

2nd ROBERTSON’S WOT A NIGHT - A 9-month-old P&S, smaller in stature than my winner. At first glance, he is more my type; however, on the day I simply couldn’t fault the performance of 1st. Nice brick-shaped head with a strong jaw, correct scissor bite and dark eyes. Even coat colour with correct banding and a jacket of great texture. He was a little unsure of his surroundings initially, but once settled he moved ok. Another promising youngster who will be interesting to watch as he matures.

3rd JOHNSON’S MARNIMICA WITCH HUNTA

Junior Dog (2 entries / 1 Abs)

1ST DESCERE’S AMORVITA DARK HORSE - A smart 1-year-old black dog with a masculine head of good, even proportions, dark eyes, a keen expression and neat V-shaped ears. Presented a robust, well-balanced outline with a slightly sloping topline. Good tail set, which he carried well. Well-muscled throughout and moved with purpose in all directions, appearing to float effortlessly around the ring. Groomed and presented to his best advantage. A confident young dog with plenty of presence and a promising future ahead of him. RESERVE BEST OF BREED

Post Graduate Dog (2 entries / 1 Abs)

1st JOHNSON’S MARNIMICA SEVEN WONDERS - A 3-year-old P&S with a masculine head and correct scissor bite. A nice size, presenting a compact, cobby outline with a harsh, correctly banded jacket. I would, however have preferred to seen him groomed slightly tighter to the body, which would better showcased his overall shape and angulation. Moved adequately today.

Open Dog (4 entries / 3 Abs)

1st WISE & JOHNSON’S XEBEC WARLOCK WITH DALADEEZ (Imp DEU) - A2-year-old black dog with a pleasing, masculine head, smart ears and a correct scissor bite. Lovely harsh jacket of excellent texture. Robust and well-bodied, with a good spring of rib. On the move, he appeared slightly downhill today and lacked some of the drive and impulsion I would have liked to see. I felt the heat may have affected his performance, and he certainly made his handler work to keep his attention.

Junior Bitch (2 Entries / 1 Abs)

1ST DESCERE’S AMORVITA WHEEL OF FORTUNE` - A 12-month-old black bitch with a strong yet feminine head, dark eyes and a lovely alert, keen expression. Presented a clean, balanced outline with good length of neck, a nice spring of rib and a slightly sloping topline. Excellent harsh coat, beautifully groomed and presented to perfection. Moved soundly in all directions with excellent reach and drive. Like her brother, she appeared to float effortlessly around the ring. Her attitude and ring presence were outstanding; she demanded attention and showed herself to full advantage. A very exciting young bitch with a bright future ahead. I look forward to following her show career. BEST OF BREED.

Post Graduate Bitch (2 Entries / 0 Abs)

1st LICHSTONE MIDNIGHT ZORA - A B&S bitch with a feminine head, dark eye and correct scissor bite, giving her a pleasing expression. Good length of neck flowing smoothly into well-placed shoulders, with a slightly sloping topline. Presented a clean, outline with good colour and coat texture. Groomed and presented to advantage. Moved soundly, covering the ground well and showed good reach and drive.

2nd KRIEGER’S PHYLIBERRY STAR IS BORN - Small, feminine black bitch with a pretty head, dark eyes and a pleasing expression. She presented a nice outline; however, today she was a little reluctant to make the most of herself in the ring. Her movement lacked enthusiasm, and she made her handler work hard.

Open Bitch (5 Entries / 2 Abs)

1st MCDERMOTT’S LICHSTONE WIND OF DREAMS - P&S bitch with a feminine, well-proportioned head, dark eyes and a pleasing expression. Good length of neck with a slight arch, flowing smoothly into well-placed shoulders and had gently sloping topline. Harsh coat of good colour and texture, well-groomed and presented to advantage. Nice tail set, carried merrily on the move. Moved soundly, covering the ground well whilst maintaining a pleasing outline.

2nd BRUMIST DIZZY’S LIZZIE AMONG CALAVIE - P&S bitch with a well-balanced head, dark eye and neat, well-set ears. A nice harsh coat of excellent texture, although I would have preferred it groomed slightly tighter to the body to better define and showcase her outline. Cobby in type with a pleasing tail set and good overall balance. Moved well, maintaining her shape on the move.

3rd BLOOMINGSTAR DANCING GIRL AT PHYLLBERRY
