300 WALDERSHELF DRAMA QUEEN (Miss A Purdy & Mr R Simpson) 1st Post Graduate, Best of Breed. Stood alone in the class and

ultimately for Best of Breed but fully justified both awards. At just 10 months old she presented a super outline, alert and attentive

throughout, oozing confidence and shown to advantage by her handler. Strong, well-proportioned head with flat skull, well-defined

stop and correctly set medium-sized ears lying close to the head. Beautiful brown almond-shaped eyes give a typical and gentle

expression. Correct scissor bite with complete dentition. Well balanced throughout with correct depth of chest, strong rounded

croup and well-muscled hindquarters. Compact feet and good bone. On the move she demonstrated the correct flexibility through

the pasterns typical of the breed, coupled with a strong, purposeful gait and a firm, level topline maintained throughout. Although

still immature, she possesses much promise for the future and was a worthy Best of Breed winner.

406 SPRINGHAZE ZEST FOR FUN (Mr D L Read & Mrs S M K Read) 1st Post Graduate, 1st Open, Best of Breed. Twenty-month-old

male with distinctive and well-defined tricolour markings. Presents a strong, masculine headpiece with a square muzzle and

powerful underjaw. Well boned throughout the forequarters. Slightly lower in pastern than I would ideally prefer and carrying a little

more length in loin than ideal, giving an overall outline closer to 9:11, but he nevertheless carried himself well and maintained a

firm, level topline both standing and on the move. Well-muscled hindquarters with the clear hock angulation expected of the breed.

Moved soundly and purposefully, covering the ground with ease. A lovely character who combined breed type with soundness and

was deserving of his Best of Breed award.

405 INT/DT/DK CH PRINZ HEINRICH VOM STEENKAMP (Ms J Kalinowski & Mr F Kalinowski) 2nd Open, Res Best of Breed. Sevenyear-

old mature male of pleasing breed type. Unfortunately, on the day he was keen to take charge and neither dog nor handler

established a consistent straight line on the move, making a full assessment of his movement difficult. When standing, however, he

presented a confident and animated picture. Masculine head with slight furrow, moderate stop and a strong muzzle. Dark brown

almond-shaped eyes and correctly placed ears combine to give a typical and attractive expression. Strong, muscular neck flowing

into a well-developed forechest. Firm, level back with correct tail set and a strong pendulous tail. A dog with many qualities, he

could benefit from having shorter nails as this impacts gait and foot placement.

410 HIGHTIMBERS OREO COOKIE ShCEx 1st Post Graduate, Best of Breed. Almost four-year-old black and gold bitch of excellent

breed type, presenting a beautiful 9:11 outline. Completely free from exaggeration and shown in a long, close-lying coat of excellent

condition. A confident, self-assured exhibit who free stood naturally and displayed her balanced outline to advantage throughout.

Feminine head with medium brown oval eyes, tight lips, strong underjaw and a correct scissor bite with complete dentition. Flat fore

ribs, strong loin and well-muscled hindquarters reflecting her excellent condition. Strong, well let down hocks. Moved soundly,

appearing a touch close behind at times, which I felt was largely due to the pace she was being moved at. A quality bitch combining

soundness, breed type and temperament, and a worthy Best of Breed winner.

412 CASSIUSLEO'S ROGUES RIOT (Miss Z C Godfrey & Mr J Smithurst) 1st Puppy, Best Puppy, Reserve Best of Breed. At just eight

months old, this sandy fawn bitch presented a most appealing picture and was full of promise for her age. Striking head with

medium oval eyes giving a delightful expression. Moderate taper to the muzzle, strong underjaw and a correct scissor bite with

complete dentition. High-set ears with well-feathered rounded tips completed a typical headpiece. Well-boned forelegs for one so

young, moderate forechest and a pleasing outline with slight tuck-up and rounded croup leading into well-muscled hindquarters.

Moved particularly well, covering the ground with ease while maintaining a firm topline throughout. Tail well furnished, although

tending to form a ring on the move. A very promising youngster who deserved both Best Puppy and Reserve Best of Breed.

413 KALIZMAR GUIDED BY THE STARS (Mrs J Westwood & Mr R K Westwood) 2nd Post Graduate. Two-year-old lion gold bitch of

strong and powerful appearance. Head in good proportion to body with a moderate stop, Roman nose and a beautiful full black

mask. Dark brown oval eyes and correctly pendant ears contribute to an attractive, typical expression. Strong, moderately long neck

flowing into super straight, well-boned forelegs. Correct 9:10 proportions and a well-balanced outline. Parallel, well-muscled

hindquarters with a long, slanting upper thigh, providing the strength and substance expected of the breed. Slight rise over the

croup. Tail carriage detracted from the overall picture on the move today, but otherwise a very attractive bitch with much to admire.

411 PRIDEOFELSA AMBER HEART AT LEOFLAED (Miss R E Bennett) 1st Post Graduate, Best of Breed. Two-year-old lion gold bitch

presenting a super outline, combining strength and substance with the elegance and femininity so characteristic of the breed. A

delightful exhibit with a friendly, confident temperament and excellent ring presence. Head in proportion to body with a medium

stop, beautiful eyes and a kind expression. Close-fitting, well-feathered ears frame the head, while a correct scissor bite and strong

muzzle complete an attractive headpiece. Strong, slightly arched neck leading into a well-constructed body with excellent bone

throughout. In superb condition, with ample muscle tone which enabled her to move with impressive reach and drive, yet with an

effortless quality that is so desirable. Well-furnished tail and ample breeches completed the picture. A quality bitch of excellent

breed type who was a deserving Best of Breed winner.
