Aberystwyth & District Canine Society 4th Oct 26’

My sincere thanks to Secretary Sue Banks for the kind invitation to judge. I was exceptionally well looked after by two outstanding stewards whose support, professionalism and organisation made the day a real pleasure. It was equally rewarding to go over such exceptional dogs, with quality throughout making for some challenging decisions. I am truly grateful for the opportunity and for the warm hospitality shown by everyone involved in making the day such a success.

Pug

P (2) 1st Linnett’s CONQUELL KISS AND RUN. 6 month old bitch who impressed me with her confidence and movement at such a tender age. Feminine, large, round head with a short, blunt muzzle, broad underjaw and correctly defined wrinkles. Large, dark, round eyes with the desired soft, attentive expression. Small, thin ears correctly set. Short, thick neck, compact square body, level topline and well-sprung ribs. Good bone and strong, well-muscled hindquarters, with a high-set tail tightly curled over the hip. She moved with surprising freedom and purpose, showing sound, parallel action and maintaining her topline. BPIB & RBOB.

2nd Hyde’s ONLY YOU FAN-FAN FAVORI AT ROXMARR (IMP UKR). Nearly 9 month old feminine youngster, showing good promise for the future. Developing a decidedly square and cobby outline, with pleasing proportions and substance for her age. Her head is developing well, with a relatively large, round skull and dark eyes giving a soft, eager expression. She has a short, cobby body with a level topline and a high-set, tightly curled tail. Moved purposefully, using her forelegs well, although I just preferred the more positive and coordinated movement of the class winner today.

2nd Williams BODLON RUNNIN WITH THE DEVIL. 10 month old male with much to appreciate, although he lacked confidence in the ring today and did not always show himself to best advantage. Despite this, there is a promising youngster with a pleasingly racy outline, a long, lean head and gentle expression. Neck elegant and muscular, with good depth of chest and a well-defined underline. The characteristic arch over the loin is developing well for his age, with good length of leg contributing to his overall balance.
