North of England Pyrenean Mountain Dog Club 6th April 26’.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the committee for the kind invitation to judge and for the warm welcome. I am also grateful to all exhibitors for supporting the show and for accepting my decisions with commendable grace and sportsmanship.
VD (2) 1st Cubello NIGHT OWL. 9½-year-old male of excellent type, retaining the noble bearing. He presents a well-balanced outline, with strong bone and substance without any hint of coarseness. His head is correctly proportioned. Eyes are well set and dark. He stands on good forequarters with adequate width and straight, well-muscled limbs. Correct coat. His body remains firm with a level topline and well-developed hindquarters, still showing strength and drive. Particularly pleasing is his movement—free, steady, and unhurried, powered from behind, demonstrating remarkable soundness for his age. Best Veteran Dog.
2nd Asher PYRDANZA TOSCA. A 9½-year-old male who continues to reflect the essential qualities of the breed. He shows great size and strength, yet remains well balanced and never cumbersome. His chest is broad with ribs carried well back, supporting a strong, level back and firm loins. The neck is powerful and clean, flowing into well-laid shoulders. Correct double dewclaws. His coat remains profuse with good texture, and overall condition is commendable for his age. A dignified veteran who still demonstrates sound construction.

JD (1) 1st Carter JUMICAR DON’T STOP ME NOW. A 16-month-old male, still very raw and with considerable development ahead, as expected at this age. He shows pleasing overall proportions with sufficient bone and a developing frame that should strengthen with maturity. Head properties are coming, with correct planes and expression beginning to emerge. His body requires time to broaden and deepen, particularly through chest and loin. Encouraging hindquarters, already showing some strength. Movement is a highlight—free and unhurried, with particularly pleasing side gait, demonstrating good reach and drive. A promising youngster who should benefit from time.

PG (1) 1st Bhattacharya JUMICAR FREE AS A BIRD OF HYDELEN. A 15-month-old male showing good overall type and balance for his age, though still with development to come. He presents a pleasing outline with adequate bone and a developing frame. Head is well proportioned with a typical expression. Body proportions are correct, with time needed to strengthen through chest and forehand. Movement is a strong feature, particularly in profile where he shows free, unhurried action with good reach and drive. Coming towards he is a little close at present, which should improve as he matures. A promising youngster.
LD (1) 1st Chang OONELLADREAM BORN TO RUN. 2-year-old male presenting a balanced and impressive outline, with great size and strength without any loss of elegance. His head is a standout feature—well proportioned, correctly shaped, and lovely expression. He is developing well through body, with a firm topline, good depth of chest, and strong, muscular hindquarters. Movement is particularly pleasing, true both coming and going, with soundness and purpose, and maintaining a free, unhurried stride in profile. A dog of real quality and promise, unfortunate to meet such strong competition today, but certainly one to watch for the future.
O (5) 1st Pollard & Maggs CH GILLANDANT THIEF OF HEARTS AT DEWYCHE ShCEx. 6-year-old male who excels in breed type, presenting a truly outstanding example of balance, strength, and unmistakable presence. He immediately commands attention with his noble bearing and overall harmony, combining great size with correct proportions and never appearing cumbersome. His head is exemplary - strong yet refined, correctly shaped with the desired blunt “V” outline, and complemented by dark, well-set eyes that convey a calm, intelligent expression. His construction is of the highest order, with a powerful neck flowing into well-laid shoulders and a firm, level topline. The chest is broad and deep, ribs well carried back, and loins strong, supporting a well-muscled, correctly angulated hindquarter complete with proper double dewclaws. Coat is abundant, of correct texture, and presented in excellent condition. On the move, he is a joy to watch free, unhurried, and utterly sound, driving powerfully from behind while maintaining effortless balance. True both coming and going, he demonstrates the unflagging movement essential to the breed. A dog of exceptional quality who could not be denied Best Dog and ultimately Best in Show. 2nd Kenyon & Ward CH CHARIBERE SIMPLY THE SEQUEL AT KAIANNA JW A 5-year-old male presenting a different style to the class winner, yet in no way detracting from his evident quality. He stands over the ground with a broad chest reaching just below the elbows, ribs carried well back, and a strong, muscular loin. His neck is powerful and clean, flowing into well-placed shoulders, giving a balanced and workmanlike outline. His coat is of correct double texture, with a dense undercoat and harsher outer coat, forming a well-defined mane and good furnishings. Tail is well set, thick at the root and carried correctly, adding to his overall balance. Movement is particularly eye-catching in profile, showing a free, unhurried stride with steady drive from the rear, covering ground with ease. A cracking overall package, full of breed type and presence, whose quality and excellent movement took him to Reserve Best Dog.
VB (2) 1st Wilcock CH PENELLCY SHE’S LIKE THE WIND. 7-year-old bitch a wonderful feminine example of the breed. Her head is particularly pleasing—refined yet strong, correctly proportioned, with gentle expression and well-set, dark eyes. She carries herself with quiet confidence, true to the breed’s characteristics. She is well balanced throughout, with a firm, level topline, good length of body, and a broad chest with ribs carried well back. Her coat is a standout feature—profuse, of correct texture, and beautifully presented, enhancing her overall outline. On the move, she excels, showing a free, unhurried gait with smooth, effortless drive from the hindquarters. A quality bitch combining femininity, sound construction, and excellent movement. Best Veteran Bitch & Best Veteran in Show.
2nd Asher TRIXYLEE A STAR IS BORN. 7½-year-old bitch a good, honest exhibit who continues to reflect the breed’s natural character. She stands with sufficient bone and substance without losing her feminine quality, and carries herself with quiet confidence. Her neck is strong and clean, leading into well-placed shoulders, and her ribcage is carried well back, giving a solid, workmanlike body. Her coat remains dense with correct double texture, providing good protection and completing the overall picture. Tail is correctly set and carried, adding to her balance. Movement she is free and easy, showing a relaxed, unhurried action, clearly enjoying her time in the ring.

MPB (2,1) 1st Cave LISJOVIA CROWNING GLORY AT CASIANN. 8-month-old bitch very much a youngster with plenty of development still to come. She shows a pleasing outline with emerging balance, and carries sufficient bone for her age without appearing heavy. Her head is feminine, with correct proportions for age. Body proportions are still immature, requiring time to deepen through chest and strengthen over topline. Coat is appropriate for age, with texture starting to come through. On the move she is learning her craft, but shows moments of free, easy action. A promising youngster who will no doubt benefit from time and experience.
PB (2,1) 1st Baverstock KALKASI THE ETERNAL QUEST. 11-month-old bitch, a most attractive and feminine package with much to admire at this stage of development. She has a pleasing outline with good balance for her age, carrying sufficient bone while retaining refinement. Her head is particularly appealing—well proportioned with the desired gentle expression, enhanced by well-set, dark eyes and correct ear placement. She is developing nicely through the body, with a firm topline and good length of rib, and shows promising strength through her hindquarters. Her coat is coming on well, with correct texture beginning to establish. Movement is a standout feature, true and steady coming and going, with excellent coordination. In profile, she moves with a free, unhurried stride, showing lovely reach and drive. A very promising young bitch with a bright future ahead. Best Puppy in Show.
JB (3) 1st Carter JUMICAR SHE’S A KILLER QUEEN. 16-month-old bitch, feminine and charming overall package. She shows a well-balanced outline with sufficient substance while retaining elegance and refinement. Her head is pleasing, correctly proportioned with a soft, intelligent expression, and well-set ears framing the face. She is developing steadily through the body, with a level topline, good length of back, and a ribcage extending well to the rear. Her neck is strong and clean, flowing into well-placed shoulders. Coat is of correct texture and coming along nicely for her age. On the move, she is free and unhurried, showing coordinated action and good carriage. A delightful young bitch who combines breed type, femininity, and promise for the future.

Her head is correctly proportioned, with a gentle slope from skull to muzzle and a soft, intelligent expression. Neck is strong, leading into well-laid shoulders, and her body is firm with a level topline and good depth of chest. Coat is of correct double texture and well presented. She moves freely and steadily, maintaining balance and purpose.

LB (1) 1st Burnikell & Rac GANDERSKYE’S PINK DIAMOND. 3-year-old bitch, a balanced and workmanlike outline with evident breed character. She shows a strong, fairly short neck, flowing into well-placed shoulders, and a ribcage carried well back. Tail is correctly set, thick at the root and carried in keeping with her mood, adding to overall balance. I would prefer a little more length of leg which would enhance her overall proportions. She moves freely, driving from the hindquarters, maintaining a steady and unhurried action. Handled with care by a new exhibitor, who is to be encouraged. A genuine and honest exhibit.
OB (5,1) 1st Kenyon & Ward CHARIBERE REASON TO DREAM AT KAIANNA JW. 3-year-old bitch presenting a truly striking example of breed type and overall balance. She combines strength and elegance so effortlessly, standing over the ground with a noble, composed bearing that immediately draws the eye. Her outline is beautifully proportioned, with a strong neck flowing into well-laid shoulders, a firm, level topline, and ribs carried well back, giving a harmonious and complete picture. Her head is of excellent quality, correctly shaped with the desired proportions and a calm, intelligent expression. Although not in full coat today, this in no way detracts—if anything, it highlights the correctness of her construction and natural quality. On the move she so fluid and unhurried, covering the ground with ease and purpose. A bitch I found difficult to fault and deserving of her accolades today. Best opposite Sex and Reserve Best in Show.
2nd Bamford & Church CH PAFAXEN A MILLION DREAMS JW. 2-year-old bitch who made a strong impression in this class, pushing hard for top honours. She presents a well-balanced outline with good size and substance, combined with a feminine quality throughout. Her head is well proportioned, showing correct planes and a gentle, composed expression, with well-set eyes and neat ears completing the picture. She is soundly constructed, with a firm, level back, good depth of chest, and a strong loin. Hindquarters are well muscled, with moderate angulation, supporting her movement. While standing she is pleasing, but truly comes into her own on the move. In action she is free and unhurried, showing purpose and drive from the rear, with good coordination and reach. She covers the ground with ease, demonstrating the unflagging movement. Reserve Best Bitch.
