Walsall and District Kennel Association Open Show

Saturday 8th August 2026.

I would like to say a big thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at your show. It was very apparent that all the exhibitors really enjoyed their day, and this is due to the hard work of the committee in creating a friendly, welcoming environment and managing a well run show. The weather was also very kind to us, and meant we could all enjoy some sunshine and it gave the dogs a lovely big space outside to show in.

Thank you to my stewards Nita and Alex Webster, Alex’s spreadsheets are now legendary!.

Finally thank you to the exhibitors, I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment!

Puppy 1.

1st Jolihem Truly Scrumptious. 9 month old bitch. Lovely, feminine expression with dark eye. Correct ear set. Well proportioned head, but would prefer a stronger under jaw. Clean neck with nicely balanced front and rear assemblies. Nice tail set, with a tail that did not stop wagging all the way around the ring! Very in tune with her handler and did everything that was asked of her. Presents a nicely balanced picture in profile but I would like to see more length of ribbing to improve her overall outline. Pleased to award her BPIB and delighted that she took PHG2 in a lovely group under Judge Caroline Scott.

Open 2 (1)

1st Priorpark’s Pragmatist. Presented in gleaming condition. Moderate dog with no exaggeration. Head of equal proportions . Strong jaw with excellent depth of muzzle and tight fitting lip. Long, clean neck flowing on to well constructed front. Great depth of chest with well sprung rib but would prefer a little more length of ribbing to complete the picture. Excellent tail set, leading to well turned stifle and low set hocks sat on good compact feet. Held his topline firmly both on the stack and on the move. Covered the ground with ease. Pleased to award him BOB.
