Livingstone Canine Society 01.02.2026

Thank you to the committee for my invitation to judge the gundogs, I thoroughly enjoyed my day. Also thanks to my stewards John & Hazel who kept the ring running smoothly.

Thanks to all the exhibitors for bringing your lovely dogs under me and accepting my decisions so sportingly, classes were well filled, which made for some hard decisions and could change places on another day. I was disappoint to find a handful of bad mouths .

Weimaraner Grad (5,2a)

1st Balmer Trapaleba Carrera Nice 2 1/2 year old B, correct head proportions with a pleasing eye &expression, good fore chest, good angulation fore & aft, well let down hocks, moved soundly once she settled.

2nd Balmer Trapaleba Dior (JW) litter sister to 1st, very similar comments apply, I prefer this bitches head but on the day just didn’t move as well.

3rd Duffy Minstergate Horizon

Weimaraner Open (10,3a)What a lovely class, I was splitting hairs with placing.

1st & BOB MacLaine Greyspirit Purdue (JW, SHCM, SHCEX, VW, CJW17, CW22, CVW24) she belies her years & is a credit to her owners for keeping her in such amazing condition, she carries a feminine head, clean neck into correct front assembly, good feet, level topline, ribs carried well back, good bend of stifle, she moved out well around the ring.

2nd Balmer Mabanika Omega well angulated fore & aft. Nice depth of chest. Well developed over loin, well let-down hocks. Good bone & feet. Moved soundly covering the ground well

Welsh Springer Spaniel (1,0)

1st & BOB Dyer Benton Small Talk among Tywyth (imp Fin) another one who belies her years, 10 year old, feminine head & expression, straight well boned legs, deep body with well developed ribs carried well back, could be shorter in loin, well muscled quarters which she used to power round the ring, well presented 

Sussex Spaniel (1,0)

1st & BOB McGeachie Lux Ch/ Ir Sh Ch Malbecmogs Lady of the Lake at Klanhallion 2 years old bitch, femine head, broad skull, well boned legs, balanced body properties, with good depth throughout, firm hindquarters with correct muscle which allowed her to moved well. 

Cocker Spaniel Post Grad (5,0)

1st & BOB Duncan Corralet Opera at Dunherl (JW) mature blue girl who owns a beautiful balanced head, with kindest of eye giving a lovely expression, well defined stop, well laid back shoulder, just enough angulation front and back, big ribs with short loin, well set tail, moved soundly with drive. Trimmed beautifully 

2nd Lawrie Inverella Bella Ragazza Nera 10m black bitch, who has really come on since I last saw her, well balanced head, good neck leading into well placed shoulder, good depth throughout, big ribs, short lion, well rounded bum, moved well, I just hope she grows on, well presented

3rd Mason Lynshow Apache 

Cocker Spaniel Limit (4,1a)

1st Furzer Durham Blue, mature blue boy, possess a masculine head, kind dark eye, well bone legs on good tight feet, good width in front, well sprung ribs, good length in loin, well present coat, well muscled back end, moved well in the class.

2nd Lawrie Inverella Hugo Boss 

Young black dog, masculine head, lovely kind dark eye, well set ears, moderate neck into sloping shoulder, well boned legs, would like tighter feet, well balanced body, nice big bum, moved happily 

3rd Ryallcourt Way Above over as Omar

Cocker Open (5,1a) 

1st Neatham Shoogsea Bibidi Bobidi Boo, I have never seen this 8 year old orange veteran look so well, pretty head, with dark expressive eye, good neck leading into well placed shoulder, ample return of upper arm, plenty depth all through, lovely presentation , good width of thigh, short hocks, moved the best in the class. 

2nd Duncan Corralet Condesa 111 of Dunherl (JW), I have previously awarded this mature blue girl BOB , my opinion hasn’t changed, she has a feminine head, good lay of shoulder, good width to front, well bone legs, nice cat like feet, short coupled, well presented, I just felt today she was carrying a little extra weight over the shoulders and didn’t move as well as I have seen her

3rd Hynd Scomar Magic Flute (VW) this boy needs a special mention who at nearly 13 could show some of the youngster how to move, he was loving his day out, so nice to see 

Clumber open (4,0)

1st & BOB Nesbitt Creeaark Austin Healey from Chabrouille, 4 year old boy who has a super shape, masculine broad head, square muzzle, well placed shoulder, stands on well boned legs with correct feet, fantastic spring of rib, moderate bend of stifle, well muscled back end which allowed him to move with reach and drive keeping his topline

2nd Nixon Knockhalon Put a Spell on you at Glenbruetti feminine head, with correct eye colour & shape, well boned, ample body and ribbing, carries a firm topline and moves well using her muscular hindquarters 

3rd Nicholson Knockhalon Spooktacular of Taranstigh 

Large Munsterlander Open (5,0) what a lovely class

1st & BOB Logie SH Ch Graf 111 Vom Busshof at Albadhu (Sh Ex) a stunning dog who I have admired from the ringside and was delighted to get my hands on him, very well balanced dog, masculine head with dark eyes, correct bite, clean neck & shoulders, good depth of brisket, well angled backend, he came into his own on the move.

2nd Logie Albadhu I’m Mad About You, daughter of above, she is so well balanced correct head, dark eye, lovely front, clean neck into good shoulders, well muscled for her young age, moved very well 

3rd Logie Albadhu I’m Addicted to You

Italian Spinone Open (2,1a)

1st & BOB Knowles, Knowles & Glen, Fioralba Let’s Go Round Again with Bessalone just out of puppy but mature for her age, feminine but substantial, Typey head, I liked her overall shape, good strong powerful neck, clean shoulders, deep chest, well ribbed, strong quarters with good width of 2nd thigh moved steadily and soundly

Irish setter Limit (3,1a)

1st Gilray Jonola Singapore Sling nice boy, masculine head with soft expression, good shoulder placement, straight front, nicely arched neck leading into a sloping topline good angulation front & rear, moved well with correct tail carriage, coat in super condition

2nd Murchison Harelferg Penny Lane via Corphin I like her just gave a lot away in maturity today, she is beautifully presented , with feminine head, balanced body, neat feet, with good width across her thighs she has a lovely shape on the stack and on the move 

Irish Setter Open (4,1a)

1st & BOB Murchison Kerryfair Please Please Me Corphin mature boy who caught my eye when he entered the ring, he has a super outline, masculine head with soft expression, he has well developed chest and ribs, good rear angles, moved true with reach and drive

2nd Vallance Lynwood Rather Ravishing at Corcencone lovely eye, straight front, good lay of shoulders, pleasing topline into correct tail set, good angulation, moved well, beautifully presented

3rd Ruzsinszki Tottie Tango

Hungarian Vizsla Graduate (6,4a)

1st o’brien Soletrader Rockin Robin wow this youngster caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring, I loved everything about him, he has a balanced head with soft expression, nicely angulated throughout, great depth of chest for his age, well boned legs & fantastic feet, strong hindquarters with good width of 2nd thigh, he just needs to tighten up on the move but he is where he needs to be for his age, one I will follow with interest 

2nd Murray & Parker Szelkiraly’s Lovefool, ultra feminine good length to height ratio, pretty head, well sprung ribs with sort loin, well angulated front and back, moved well

Hungarian Vizsla Limit (4,1a)

1st Murray & Parker Szelkiraly’s Foolproof (JW) well balanced male, expressive eyes, well developed body, short loin, strong hindquarters with well bent stifles, moved well, keeping his topline

2nd Mason & Club Betekints Kende with Oroshaza (imp Hun) masculine noble head, good reach of neck, well balanced upper arm, well sprung ribs,deep loin, just falls away over the croup, moved well

3rd McDonald Donurie’s Texas Honky Tonk (JW)

1sr & BOB Mason & Clubb Oroshaza Lucy Locket 7 year old bitch, not flashy but on hands on everything fits together perfectly, expressive eyes, beautiful head with well set ears, long neck leading into well angulated shoulders, nice tight elbow, good length of body, short loin, good turn of stifle, powered round the ring 

2nd McDonald Donurie’s Russian Roulette, another nicely made bitch typical head, good straight front, good depth of chest, used her muscular rear on the move, preferred the tail carriage of 1st

3rd Murray & Parker True Magic of Skyrocket at Szelkialy’s  

Gordon Setter Open (5,3a)

1st & BOB Miller Cafotaliena Heart of a Hero & 2nd Hogg Gailiech Ngalyod nit picking between 2 lovely males, both were masculine in appearance, masculine heads, dark eyes with soft expressions, strong legs and feet, deep in chest, great outlines, strong muscular rears 1st was just more settled on the move 

GSP Open (7,2a) 1st & 2nd have both caught my eye at shows, 2 lovely examples of the breed I was lucky to get my hands on. Thanks for bringing them 

1st & BOB Stewart Magregor Take it all off at Levagrad (JW, NLJCH, NLJW25) won this lovely class by a whisker, very feminine, nice dark eye and expression, good bone, straight front on tight feet, short back, good topline with correct tail set, well developed quarters, moved very well around the ring

2nd Angus Edelmidpoint Native River through Calmerell (JW) stunning boy of medium size, head of good proportion, soft eye, clean outline, well boned legs, short back, good spring of ribs, good rear angulation, covered the ground with ease 

3rd Wilkinson Zarozinia Carn Tuille 

English Setter Open (5,2a)

1st & BOB Johnston Wansleydale Beguiled of Loonbrae b/b/t mature boy of 7 years, with plenty to like well shaped head, correct stop, defined occipital, low set ears, soft expression, good layback of shoulder, well ribs carried well back, good topline , well developed thighs, moved well 

2nd Vallance Rowanmyle of Prudent Lore, daughter of 1st, well proportioned youngster, kind eyes low ears, good length of neck into well laid shoulders, good bone, short coupled, strong quarters, correct tail set, moved well, lost out to 1st due to maturity.

3rd Thomson Maursett Morganite for Caspellwynd

Curly Coated Retriever Open (2,1a)

1st & BOB Cummings Maycourt Island Girl for Breichside strong well balanced bitch yet feminine, typical head with good width of skull, good ears, strong neck, great fore chest, firm topline, great croup and tail set, well angulated, handler got the best out of her, in excellent coat & curls

2nd Cummings Molokain Enchanted One lovely noble head, strong muzzle, correct bite, enough reach of neck, deep rib well angulated quarters, held her topline well, just didn’t move as well was a bit lethargic today

Flat Coated Retriever Open (12,2a)

Wow what a class, such a wide variation of ages from puppies to veteran

1st & BOB Macpherson Rachanmill Colombo 7 year old male who caught my eye for his overall balance, good head & length of neck, excellent shoulders, well ribbed carried well back, good rear angulation moved with plenty of drive which won him the class over 2nd , in excellent coat and condition 

2nd Thomson Sh Ch Caci’s the Dream Catcher Badcall 8 years old black bitch, so well balanced, beautiful head & expression, great front assembly, deep body, strong rear quarters with good tail set, moved well but not the enthusiasm of 1st

3rd Flynn Rodsdream Cheap Thrills with Candidacasa

1st Tulloch Tullochmohr Thyme to shine smart 11 month black bitch, kind feminine head, good reach of neck, correct shoulder, good spring of rib, strong well made quarters, lovely otter tail carried straight off the back, moved well just needs to come up on the leg to complete the picture.

2nd Lawrie Dechlaw Irene’s Dream Girl although older than 1st she isn’t as mature, sweet head, kind eye, correct shoulder, good feet, slightly longer cast than 1, moved steadily

1st see junior

2nd Bickerstaffe Exelby Grouse mature yellow male, masculine head, good length of muzzle dark expressive eyes, clean neck into well placed shoulders, well boned legs, good fore chest, well sprung ribs, well angulated with moderate turn of stifle, moved with drive, preferred the tail set and carriage of 1st

3rd Gunn Exelby Finch

1st & BOB Campbell Sh Ch Binnaig Buppsala (JW) black bitch who is in her prime, beautiful head with the kindest of eyes, strong clean neckline, compact & short coupled, level topline with well set tail, correctly angulated rear ended which she used to drive herself round the ring, delighted to see her take Group 1

2nd Gunn Exelby Elizabeth yellow female who posses a sweet head & expression, good width of front, well boned legs, gd depth of body, well angulated backend, moved well, slightly proud of her tail

1st Bolton Goldmarker I Dreamed a Dream at Shiremill mid gold in great coat & condition, beautiful masculine head with dark pigment, good depth of muzzle, so well balanced strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders, well sprung ribs, short coupled, muscular rear, moved effortlessly around the ring

2nd McDonald Lamancha Unstoppable, still a puppy but possesses a lovely feminine head, kind expression, super front, short coupled, strong rear, moved steadily just carries her tail high

2nd Wallis Roll on Good Times all boy but not coarse in anyway, masculine well proportioned head, kind eye, well set ears, great spring of rib,short loin, well angulated fore & aft, in great coat and condition, moved well
