Oswestry & District Kennel Association Open Show – Sunday 15th March 2026 Golden Retrievers My sincere thanks to the committee for inviting me to judge golden retrievers at the friendly, well organised show. Thankyou to my excellent stewards and to all the exhibitors who braved the weather and gave me the opportunity to judge their beautiful dogs. P (1, 0 abs) 1 – Taylor & Tenn Miss C & Mr M - Strettonhills Bees Knees Super quality, 9 month old pale puppy bitch. Pretty head with a gentle soft expression & good pigment. Good reach of neck flowing in well lay back shoulders. Well-constructed front & rear, well ribbed with a level topline, moved soundly with correct tailset. Excellent bone and super coat. BPIB and delighted to see her go on to take Group 3. J (2, 0 abs) 1 – Taylor & Tenn Miss C & Mr M - Strettonhills Hoity Toity JW 18 month Pale bitch with a super balanced outline. Lovely head, well-proportioned, kind eye & correct ear set. Well-constructed front, with good reach of neck. Correct shoulder placement, level topline, which was held on the move. Strong hindquarters & nice tight feet. Moved freely and soundly. Presented in good coat & condition. RBIB. 2- Goddard, Mr B & Mrs A M – Jorby Eternal Flame at Glansevern 14 month Golden Male presented in excellent coat. Masculine head with a soft gentle expression. Good reach of neck into well laid back shoulders. Deep chest, level topline, good angulation front & rear, correct tail set who moved soundly. PG (4, 2 abs) 1 – Etherington Miss S J – Elkarima’s Golden Renaissance Raffielo of Gemasu 2 year old, well bodied, golden male. Masculine head with a gentle expression and kindest of eyes. Good reach of neck into a well-constructed front. Deep chest and well sprung ribs. Level topline, and well-muscled quarters with plenty of bone and tight feet. Moved well. 2 – Plevin Miss S M – Brynbachlove Smiler for Bowshella 21 month old golden bitch with a balanced outline. Lovely feminine head with a kind expression and correct bite. Good reach of neck, level topline and correct tail set. Well-muscled quarters, nice tight feet. Very happy on the move. O (10, 5 abs) 1 - Taylor & Tenn Miss C & Mr M - Strettonhills Daffodil A supern quality Golden bitch 3 ½ years old, symmetrical and balanced from every angle. Beautiful feminine head, with a kind eye, melting expression & correct bite. Good length of neck flowing into well laid back shoulders. Super front with good length of upper arm. Well sprung ribs, deep chest and level top line. Correct tail set & carriage on the move. Well-muscled quarters, straight well let down hocks. She moved around the ring with ease, showing a lovely free long stride which was at one with her handler. Delighted to award her BOB. 2- Grindley Mrs V & Miss L – Bramstead Super Trouper Another quality 6 year old bitch, slightly finer that 1, who pushed the winner of this class all the way. Lovely well-proportioned head, with kind eye, gentle expression, correct ear set and bite. Good reach of neck flowing into laid back shoulders. Level top line which was held on the move. Good angulation front and rear without exaggeration. She too moved around the ring with ease driving from rear. Lesley Oneill (Strathlon)
