Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club

I was delighted and honoured to be invited to judge at the Breed Club Open Show. In my opinion to be asked to judge at a breed club show is always an honour especially for someone not classed as a breed specialist. The show was well organized, and everyone was very friendly and made me feel very welcome. Congratulations to Secretary Tracy Boyles and the committee for a super show helped by the great weather.

I was very pleased with the overall quality of dogs, however, I did notice a wide variation in head shape and type with some being a bit long in the leg.
