GOLDEN RETRIEVERS

JUDGE:  LILLAH REA (OSREALIN)

What a day for an open air dog show, 11 degrees and raining.  Despite the weather it was a very friendly and happy show.  My thanks must go to the Committee for organising the show but especially to the exhibitors for coming out in this dreadful weather to bring their lovely dogs for me to go over.  How you managed to keep the dogs clean I will never know. I really enjoyed this show.  Many thanks to my stand-in steward.

GOLDEN RETRIEVERS

P (3-1)   1.(BP) Sanderson’s Orlagold Country Girl.  At just 6 months this lovely compact little girl really caught my eye.  Shown in a thick golden coat with blond hi-lights.  She has the sweetest head with lovely expression, excellent pigmentation, good length of neck leading into good lackback and upper arm placing her legs well under her body.   Level top line with her tail straight off.  Moved really well and with drive over the longish grass.  A very happy puppy.  2.  Murray’s Shebelta Jive Talkin.  8 month blond male, well up to size.  I did well for this dog in a Baby Puppy Class.  He has a gentle head with super pigment, correct eye and ear placement.  He has a good length of neck leading into a good layback and corresponding upper arm.  His chest is deep with good spring, longer in back, good tail set, good bend of stifle.  His movement was good.

J (3-1)  1. (RBOB) Pietrykowski’s It Takes Two Anarchia Box Wondertemple (Imp Pol).  I judged this blond dog in a Puppy class, he has developed into a thoroughly lovely 13 month dog presenting a balanced outline.  He has a lovely male head with darkest pigment and dark eye.  His strong neck leads into a beautifully balanced front assembly keeping his straight legs well under his body, neat feet.  His chest is deep with plenty of heart room, good spring of rib, short coupled.  Top line dead level with tail coming straight off.  Good stifles.  Moved very well.  Pushed hard for top honours.  Pleased to hear he got placed 2nd in the Reserve BOB stakes.  Well done.  2. Evans’ Putjade Popster.  Golden male, with lovely head and dark points.  Good length of neck, good layback and upper arm, well boned legs, neat feet.  Level topline, short coupled, good tailset.  Moved very well.

PG (2).  1. Evans’ Putjade Popster.  2. Forrest’s Orlagold Major Tom.   Well built blond male with very thick coat.  Good head and expression, good length of neck, good angles fore and aft.  Deep through chest.  A little more trimming would enhance his outline.  Moved very well but proud of his tail.  L (1).  Liggins & Hodges’ Swanavly Popsy’s Legacy at Nunsbrook (Imp Srb).  Mid blond male presenting a nice outline.  Good male head and dark points, strong neck leading into good layback and corresponding upper arm.  Legs well under body, neat feet.  Deep through chest, short coupled, good tailset, good stifles.  Moved very well but liked showing his tail off.  OD (1)  (BOB).  1. Liggins & Hodges’ Silver Passion Glam Fashion at Nunsbrook JW (Imp Deu).  Lovely blond boy with gentle head, correct eye and ear placements.  Good length of strong neck into well laid back shoulders and upper arm, placing his strong straight legs well under his body, neat feet.  His chest is deep with plenty of heart room, good spring of rib, short coupled.  Level top line with tail straight off. Good bend of stifle.  Moved really well but very proud of his tail.  Just pipped winner of Junior on maturity.  Pleased to hear he got Group 3 in the Gundog Group.
