Breed: Dobermann

First of all may I thank the committee for offering me the appointment. Thank you to the exhibitors for accepting my decisions in an honorable manner. All the dogs were in good condition with full dentition and of pleasing temperaments.

Puppy 5 (1abs)

1st Robertson S & D Cockneyoka Commander Elegant substantial black and rust male well up to size with a clean muscled outline at almost a year old . Head is of a good length with parallel head planes and a correct ear set. Eyes are dark and a good almond shape. He has a good length of neck carried well which runs smoothly into shoulders a tad more forward than I prefer but still maintaining a balanced look when matched with his rear angulation. His front legs are straight and supported on very tight feet sometimes knuckling over a touch. His chest is coming along nicely and he has depth past his elbows already. His loin is firm with a good tuck up. He has a well rounded croup with a good tail set and strong parallel hocks sometimes positioned too closely by his handler. On the move he presents a fluid picture but I would prefer slightly more reach to balance out his rear drive. Pleased to award him Best puppy in breed and to then watch him take puppy group 1. 2nd Evans C & N Amazon Until I Found You. Very young black and rust female of just 6 months and 3 weeks. She is put together very nicely but was unlucky to meet the more mature winner. Her head is going through one of the many changes as her occiput is pronounced taking the balance away from the picture and her eyes give the impression of being small at the moment. She has a good length to the neck which flows into her shoulders which again for me are slightly forward. She has a good amount of front already for one so young , she has straight front legs, tight feet and her depth of chest is down to her elbows. She is a short coupled female with a strong loin, a well set tail and enough bend in stifle to balance her front.

Junior 2

1st Hemmings, Hemmings, Hickling & Hickling Evalsco’s Shade of Class 16 month black and rust male shouting all male at you. He has a solid head with level head planes but a little jowly around the lips. His neck flows into well set shoulders leading to a short coupled loin. He does tend to roach his back when being baited but in the free stack settles himself nicely. He stands on straight front legs and nice tight feet. His bend in stifle is good and balances his picture out nicely. Hocks are short and straight enabling him to power around the ring when he moves. BOB

2nd Maciejewska miss J Ivonne Di Casa Phoenix (imp ita) 14 month old black and rust female with a beautiful length of muzzle to her head. She has level head planes and good almond eyes of a rich colour. Her neck flows into shoulders quite upright and she needs to develop more front on her chest. She has straight front legs and stands on nice tight feet. She is longer in loin than the winner and would benefit from a bit more bend in stifle. She has short parallel hocks but movement was a little erratic so wasn’t using them to power around the ring.

2nd Merchant Miss M Krieger’s Mark Mwords at Mandareus 20 month old Black and Rust male another one shouting im a male. He has a classic Dobermann head piece with good head planes, almond shaped eyes and correct dentition. Cleaner lips than the winner. He has well placed shoulders and ample front and depth to his chest. He stands on straight front legs with good feet. He has a good bend in stifle but his hocks could be slightly stronger. His croup does drop away slightly. Today was not his day on the move as he crabbed and paced for his handler.
