Gravesend & Medway Towns Canine Society

Breed: Chinese Crested

Gravesend And Medway Towns Canine Society. 03.05.26

Many thanks to the committee members for inviting me to judge my breed, the Chinese Crested and to the exhibitors who entered there dogs.

Class 71, Junior -

1st – No. 150

Karamouche Top Hat’nTails (Peppett, Mrs G)

Black & White, 18-month-old PP Dog. A male I have judged previously. Presented in excellent condition, displaying a true veil coat, now increasingly rare. Correct head proportions with tight cheeks, excellent muzzle length, and sufficient chiselling. Deep, dark eyes provide the desired expression. Dentition perfect. Large, erect, flaring ears, though set slightly high for my preference. Good length of neck flowing into well-placed, tight shoulders. Deep chest and rock-solid topline. I would prefer slightly more length of loin to improve balance, but he has sufficient rear angulation with nice low hocks. Once settled and moving confidently, his tail carriage was correct, presenting a pleasing overall picture. RBOB.

2nd – No. 141

Exotic Spirit Amazing Artist In Love Avec Michadaine (Bartlett, Ms L)

11-month-old Black Tri PP Dog. Quite overwhelmed today, making assessment on the move difficult. However, on examination he has a very pleasing head with correct proportions. Beautiful, deep, dark eyes giving a lovely expression. Large, erect ears set perfectly. Dentition perfect. Lovely profile with deep chest, tight shoulders, good length of loin, and solid topline. Tail set correctly. Well-constructed rear with good turn of stifle and low hocks, very well muscled. Coat well presented. In time, once confidence improves, he could easily challenge for top honours. BPIP.

Class 72, Post Graduate -

1st – No. 146

Mums Mini Me Kiwano (Eames, Mrs E A)

2-year-old white PP Dog. A delightful exhibit who immediately caught my eye. Correct veil coat, lily white and spotless. Very pretty head; ideally I would prefer slightly darker, more almond-shaped eyes for perfection, though proportions are good with tight cheeks. Correct bite, though dentition was untidy which detracted from the overall picture. Deep chest, tight and correctly set shoulders, and a nicely arched neck. Solid topline; slightly longer in body than preferred but still presenting a pleasing outline. Moved with character and attitude, parallel from all angles, with correct tail carriage. A lovely little dog.

2nd – No. 142

Exotic Spirit Undercover Of The Darkness Avec Michadaine JW (Bartlett, Ms L)

Nearly 3-year-old grey PP Dog. Well presented. Another with a lovely head and beautiful deep, dark eyes. Tight cheeks, correct chiselling, and perfect dentition. Nice arch to neck leading into correctly set shoulders. Well-covered body with strong ribbing; however, too long in loin for my preference, which spoiled the overall picture. Moved well in front; rear movement adequate.

Class 73, Open -

1st – No. 140

Paracauwen Crazy Secret Jem Avec Michadaine (Bartlett,Miss M)

My star of the day and exactly my type. Small, dainty, and elegant throughout. At 10 years old, she could easily compete with much younger dogs. Cream sable PP, beautifully presented with a correct veil coat. Very pretty head with good proportions; if being critical, I would prefer slightly less back skull, though this did not detract. Beautiful, dark, well-shaped eyes enhancing expression. Correct bite; a few missing teeth, acceptable for age. Fully furnished ears, correctly set. Good length of neck and excellent front assembly. Beautiful in profile with correct proportions, strong ribbing, and ideal loin length, creating a superb outline. Excellent rear with great angulation and low hocks. On the move she came alive, full of drive and reach, a real “pocket rocket.” Correct tail carriage, constantly wagging. Delighted to award BOB, and even more delighted to see her achieve TG3.

2nd – No. 143

Exotic Spirit Vvildeers Dragon Avec Michadaine (Bartlett, Ms L)

Grey sable PP Dog approaching 2 years old. Another with a strong head, masculine yet refined, with dark eye and correctly set ears. Good length of neck; front assembly adequate. Short in rib and loin for my preference, which affected overall outline. Once settled, he moved pleasingly, though at times difficult to assess due to exuberance.
