I was looking forward to once again Judge for the Bon Accord Kennel Association, it was back in 2015 when I judged the Toys, Terrier and Utilities for them. A big thank you to the Toy and Terrier exhibitors for bringing their exhibits and giving me an enjoyable day judging them. Also, to the Officers and Committee for their kind invitation to judge again at their friendly show.

1st Cassie, Scott, & Moira: Pekehuis Selene

Attractive 2 yr old red brindle black masked bitch. Pretty feminine face and expression, darkest of dark round eyes, coal black broad open nostril nose. Good shallow head with well hung black tipped leathers. Displayed a shapely body under a well-presented coat of good length and colour, good mane, carried a well plumed tail correctly. Moved smartly around the ring with a lovely, happy attitude always showing herself off, displayed a good drive to the rear. Pleased to award her BOB and Toy Group Three.

1st Deans: Jobeile Ant Struithain at Uisdean

Handsome black masked fawn 2 yr old male. Lovely breed type round head, good wrinkles clearly defined to face, large round expressive dark eyes, broad large black open nostril nose. Displayed a good masculine expression, using his well-set neat ears to advantage. Firm strong neckline leading to a level topline, good twist to tail carried well. Lovely cobby body, good depth to chest well-muscled throughout, shapely hindquarters used well displaying plenty of steady drive going around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB and Toy Group Four.    

2nd Scott-Downie: Roxmarr Tickety Boo

Judged this young man last year and he has really come on developing into a handsome well-made male. Shown in good order, in lovely muscle tone and condition. He is a 2-yr old black masked fawn male, so full of himself really on his toes enjoying his showing. Masculine round head, lovely bright dark eyes, jet black broad open nostril nose, well defined wrinkles to face, used his ears well. Shapely body outline, good depth to body, good angulation to front and rear. Moved happily showing a lovely profile on the move.

1st Malcolm: CH Feorlig it must ‘ve been love

What a handsome 9 yr old red sable and white male so full of himself, was happily enjoying and showing himself of all the time. Judged this exhibit last year and his appearance and character belies his age, a credit to his owner for keeping him in this lovely condition. Beautifully presented coat, good fringing to ears, and a lovely, plumed tail carried correctly. Clear blaze, and good even facial markings, good length to muzzle, jet black nose. Moved smartly and precisely around the ring, carrying his head proudly. Pleased to award him BOB.

1st Black & Black: Young & Smart Tai Lauras to Zaandam (Imp LTU)

Perky 2 yr old orange sable male a very much look at me exhibit. Always displayed a smart outline, bright foxy expression, used his small, neat ears well, lovely dark expressive slightly oval eyes, dark pigment to nose, muzzle of good length. Well-presented coat of good texture and colour, good mane surrounding his head, short neck, compact body, level topline, good ribcage. Well plumed tail set carried flatly over his back. Well-shaped hindquarters, good angulations to front and rear, on the move moved smartly and soundly, always very much on his toes.    

2nd Black & Black: Klassna One in a million mit Zaandam

A real charmer, 11-month-old orange bitch, she was so happy and loved showing herself off. Pretty feminine head, soft foxy expression, small, neat ears set on a well-shaped head, good length to muzzle, correct bite, coal black nose. Well-shaped coat of good colour, covering a short compact body, level topline, good depth to chest, good ribcage. Plumed tail carried flattish over back, well defined hindquarters used well to show of her sound driving action, lovely front action. Full of character stood four square, and very much on her toes. Pleased to award her BPIB and Winner of Toy Puppy Group.

1st Black & Black: Verona Tai Lauras to Zaandam JW (Imp LTU)

Beautifully presented 3 yr old orange sable bitch, looked a picture standing and on the move. Well-presented coat of good length and colour, lovely full plumed tail. Attractive bitch, lovely size overall, displayed a shapely profile. On the move really stepped out, very full of herself, lovely drive to the rear, stood firmly, standing four square. Lovely breed type head, feminine foxy expression, bright dark eyes, muzzle of good length, black nose, small, neat ears. Short neck good lay of shoulders, plenty of depth to chest, straight topline, well angulated to front and rear. Pleased to award her BOB and Reserve in the Toy Group.

Lovely eye-catching chocolate and tan 15-month-old bitch, soft feminine expression, self-coloured nose and eyes. Good markings to face and feet, lovely fringing to nicely set flared ears. Lovely shape to head, good apple dome to skull, muzzle of good length, correct bite. Head always held proudly, on a neck of good length, straight topline, leading to a well set sickled feathered tail. Plenty depth to chest, well bodied throughout, pleasing angulation to front and well-defined hindquarters. Moved with a positive action on the move, a real little showgirl always carrying herself well. Pleased to award her BOB.

1st Lovie: Slovkyn Jessie of Blootoon

Most delightful exhibit, so full of herself enjoying her time in the ring. Well-presented exhibit lovely long flocked coat in lovely condition, covering the body well. Jet black nose, eye rims and pads. Soft feminine expression lovely dark round eyes, high set hung leathers, well covered framing the face. Neck of good length, well laid-back shoulders, tidy level topline, slight rise over loin, which she kept well while standing and on the move. Well feathered tail always used, good coverage to hindquarters. Moved happily around the ring showing off her good movement. Pleased to award her BOB. 

2nd Lovie: Blootoon Guiding Star

Handsome 4 yr old male, full of character, displayed good firm movement going around the ring showing well for his handler. Pleasing type with masculine head and expression, good use of high set leathers, lovely dark expressive eyes, good defined stop, balanced muzzle to skull, jet black nose. Pleasing outline with good reach of neck and shoulders. Well coated in a long-flocked coat, covering a well put together body.

1st Hardie: Rivertoy Red October at Albalevriero

Elegant refined 7 yr old fawn bitch, soft feminine kind expression, large dark eyes full of character. Lovely shape to headpiece, fine and long, balanced skull to foreface. Well arched neck supported on good shoulders, straight front, good hare feet. Body of good proportions, well-muscled throughout, good shape with slight curve to topline to loin, deep chest with good tuck up. Well put together, good angulation front and rear. Moved very smartly around the ring with good drive to the rear, using her hindquarters well. Pleased to award her BOB. 

2nd Hardie: Albalevriero Corrieburn

Judged this 4yr old fawn bitch last year. Has matured lovely since then. Soft gentle balanced head and expression, large dark expressive eyes, fine long muzzle. Clean neckline leading to good layback of shoulders, straight front, well boned throughout. Good depth to narrow chest, nice tuck up. Well-muscled rear with hocks well let down. Displayed an easy and sound action when on the move, covering the ground well.

A really appealing 14-month blue and tan Yorkshire Terrier bitch. Lovely, happy exhibit very much on her toes, a total show off, her tail never stopped wagging. Displayed femininity in her expression and head, good steel blue coloured coat to head and body, clear tan hair to face. Used her ears well, good length to muzzle, coal black nose, correct bite, bright dark eyes. Good reach of neck carrying her head proudly, firm level topline, tail well used. Well-presented silky coat of good length for age, covering a nicely shaped body, balanced all through. Really flowed going around the ring showing off her lovely character.

1st Finlay-Kirkwood: Grajenco Lady Featherington at Gilderoak

Lovely mature 5 yr old red rough Griffon Bruxellois bitch. Well coated overall, good rich red colour textured coat covering her body, and surrounding her attractive head and face. Dark pigmentations to open nostril nose, eye rims, and darkest of round eyes. Used her small, neat ears, very alert. Displayed good head carriage on a medium length neckline. Straight topline, pleasing tail set used well. Firm well ribbed body, of good depth, lovely shape to hindquarters, good bend to stifle. Moved in a very stately manner covering the ground well, showing of her lovely rear movement. Pleased to award her Best AVNSC Toy.

Most attractive black & tan 22month old bitch, soft feminine head and expression, long feathered leathers framing her face. Good rich tan markings to face, good depth to stop, and length to muzzle. Always carried her head well, long black silky coat covering a good body frame with even proportions. Level topline always held, used her tail well. Displayed graceful sound movement around the ring, showing lovely drive to the rear.

Good use of leathers set correctly on a flat skull. Kept a good level topline, good front assembly, legs and feet. Pleasing in profile with good body proportions, moved freely and happily around the ring.

Handsome 9 yr old fawn black masked male who I judge before last year. Lovely masculine round head, large dark expressive eyes, black open nostril nose, well defined wrinkles. Still a total showman loving his time in the ring. Good angulation and muscle tone throughout which he used to move with drive showing of his unexaggerated roll of the hindquarters, good twist to tail. Stood four square, showing himself off proudly for his handler.

Impressive 17-month-old red and white bitch, in super fit condition, well-muscled, just right for her age and size. Good sheen to a well-presented coat. Well put together displaying all the essentials, clean outline shapely body when viewed from behind. Straight well boned front legs, well knuckled neat feet, broad chest, deep well ribbed ribcage, firm level topline, well-muscled and angulated hindquarters, moved with verve, purpose and drive. Attractive headpiece, appealing expression, expressive keen round eyes, strong jaw, correct bite, clean neckline. Pleased to award her BOB and Winner of the Terrier Group.   

2nd Tucker: Samtan Raging Bull

All male 18-month red male, just slightly higher on the leg compared to the winner. Handler has to watch not to over stretch her exhibit in the rear, as it affects the topline when standing. Strong masculine head piece, broad skull, well developed cheeks, strong jaw, tight lips, round expressive eyes, dark pigmentation, short muzzle. Clean neckline set into well-muscled shoulders, straight strong legs. True front, compact body, good depth to chest with strong well angulated hindquarters, tail correctly set. On the move moved freely covering the ring surface, firm drive to the rear,

1st Clark: Quine on Sgor Gaoith for Albamadra

Dam of my previous winner, lovely 4 yr old red and white, in lovely hard condition, stood four square with good balance and angulation overall. Well-muscled shapely body, shown with a lovely coat. Attractive shapely head and feminine facial expression. Dark pigmentation to nose, round dark eyes and rims, broad skull, ears set correctly, good cheek muscles. Short muscular neck set into firm shoulders, broad chest, straight front, deep ribbed ribcage holding a good level topline. On the move drove well from behind showing off her well-developed hindquarters.

1st Wilson: Baalzstarz Zibal

Rock hard muscled 3 yr old dark brindle and white male, white chest patch and white socks. Really in tune with his handler. All male head and expression, darkest of round dark eyes and rims. Strong broad skull, ears used well, firm cheek muscles, good stop, muzzle of good length, strong jaw line, tight lips. Firm short neck, set into well-muscled shoulders showing off his good front assembly, broad chest. Firm topline, well developed ribcage of good depth. Muscular hindquarters which he used to motor himself on the move. Really looked good in profile on the move and standing.

Such a happy and fun loving 2 yr old exhibit, white with a black eye patch. Well-muscled throughout, stood well on well boned legs, round compacted round feet, arched toes. Long arched neckline proudly carrying her head, straight firm topline. Soundly constructed all through with good layback shoulders, lovely depth to ribcage, good chest, held elbows close to chest. Well-developed hindquarters used to show of her smooth rear action. Pretty feminine head, good egg shaped and filled in, lovely, shaped eyes, coal back nose, used her ears well. Pleased to award her BOB and Terrier Group 4

1st Boyne: Boannadeen La Bombonera 

Lovely black brindle and white 3 yr old bitch, attractive feminine egg-shaped long head, well filled in, flat skull well placed erect ears, lovely expressive dark eyes, coal black nose, correct bite. Long arched muscled neck flowing into firm shoulder placements, lovely broad fore chest and front. Firm level topline, good frame and even proportions, liked her size and shape. Good spring of rib with plenty of heart room, tight elbows to chest. Well-constructed quarters used soundly when on the move around the ring in a stately manner.  

2nd Boyne: Tiny Amigo’s Night King (Imp Nor)

Handsome 5 yr old brindle and white male, quite a lovable character. Really enjoyed always showing himself off, going around the ring really stepped out showing off a shapely firm profile and good sound front and rear actions. Firm body good depth to chest, well ribbed. Lovely masculine head type, good egg shape well filled in, manly expression, keen dark eyes, flat skull, used his ears well. Shown in lovely condition, good sheen to coat.

Most attractive silver 2 yr old bitch, beautifully, presented coat of good length, groomed to show off her figure well. Appealing head and expression, sparkling expressive dark eyes. Long and powerful head well furnished with soft facial hair of good length. Well fringed pricked ears with black hair. Neck of good length, leading into good shoulders, long low firm body, dead straight topline always kept. Good depth to ribcage short loin, plenty of substance to body, well-muscled and angulated hindquarters, well feathered tail. Really used her hindquarters to drive around the ring showing of her lovely profile. Pleased to award her BOB.

Smart young 9-month-old bitch, handler getting the best from her, she showed of a clean-cut profile when standing and on the move. Well-presented black and tan coat, a lovely hard wiry texture to touch. On the move, moved in a firm true straight line, showing off her good breed frame. Lovely feminine head, good well-set ears carried forward, flat skull between. Small dark expressive eyes, keen expression, firm jaw line, correct bite, jet black nose, good shape to muzzle. Lovely clean neckline, good front and depth to well ribbed chest for age. Firm topline nicely set tail carried erect, shapely hindquarters good bend to stifle. Pleased to award her BOB, BPIB and Winner of Terrier Puppy Group.

2nd Bowman: Magic Elvira

A real little black and tan sweetie, fairly new to the showring and was really enjoying herself. Shown in a sympatric and patient manner by her handler, so that she enjoyed herself. Lovely size and build overall, gentlest of heads and expression. Keen dark small eyes always used her V shaped ears, medium length to muzzle slight stop, correct bite, black nose. Clean neckline, pleasing balance in front and rear angulations. Level topline, good shape to ribcage and chest. Tail set was fine but tail not carried erect now.

A charming 19-month-old black bitch shown in a beautiful condition. Looked a picture standing displayed a lovely breed type profile, glossy black sheen to coat, good texture to coat, good furnishings to face, beard and eyebrows. Shapely feminine head, erect ears, flattish skull, slight stop, strong jaw, correct bite, coal black nose. Firm neck holding her head proudly, good, angulated shoulders and upper arm. Clean cut outline always showing balance yet elegant. Good depth to ribcage well ribbed, well boned throughout, good length to body. Firm shapely hindquarters, good tail carriage held correctly. Displayed lovely sound movements going around the ring. Pleased to award her BOB and Reserve in the Terrier Group  

2nd Mcniven & Bryson: Dajaveil Dugald Drumguish

Litter brother to winner, a lovely pair of exhibits not much between them, another good showman, sister just pipped him as she was just a little more on her toes today. Handsome black male, manly headpiece, keen dark eyes, lovely furnishing to his head, slight defined stop, muzzle of good length, jet black nose, correct bit. Always used his ears well, alert, strong well-muscled neck and topline, carried his tail well. Firm muscled body covering a well boned body frame. On the move displayed his strong movement, just full of himself.

1st Mcniven: Frazandmitch Top of the Game at Dajaveil SHCEX

Handsome 4 yr old black brindle male, displayed an upright stance in appearance, proudly showing himself off. Head full of quality made of correct proportions, almond shaped dark brown eyes, lovely eyebrows. Slight stop, good length of muzzle, well bearded. Good reach to a strong neck leading into well placed shoulders, excelled in overall balance and body constructions. Well-made angulated hindquarters good placement of tail. Displayed his sound firm movement going around the ring.

2nd Nicol: Celmareva go the Distance at Ropebbie

Smart black brindle 23-month-old male, showy exhibit very much on his toes. Handsome head, charming masculine head, expressive dark eyes, good eyebrow furnishing, good foreface, strong muzzle and jaw, well bearded, correct bite. Used his ears to advantage, giving a keen expression. Firm neckline of good length, supported on good shoulders. Level topline, hard muscular body covered in a good textured coat, plenty depth to chest and ribcage. Strong well-defined hindquarters used to really motor around the ring.

Gentile 8-month-old blue bitch, well-presented overall, lovely textured thick coat. Lovely soft feminine head, small bright dark eyes. Narrow head covered in a soft silky top knot, large black nose, correct bite, tight lips, low set ear placement contouring her face. Lovely clean neck and throat, straight front, good bone throughout, long hare feet. Good, angulated shoulder and upper arm. Level back, lovely natural arch to loin, deep chest to elbow and width. Sufficient development in body and hindquarters, good bend to stifle well placed tail always used. Moved in a graceful light manner, well handed. Pleased to award her BOB and Terrier Puppy Group Three.

1st Stewart: Twinan Runway Ruby

Perky young 8-month-old bitch, white with tan patches. Showy young lady displayed a clean-cut proud silhouette standing and, on the move, eager to show off her good points. Lovely temperament, kind feminine head and expression, good shape to head, always using her ears moderate flat skull, well define stop, keen almond shaped eyes, good length to strong muzzle, correct bite, jet black nose. Clean neck, sound frame made for a good outline, well covered, good muscle tone throughout. Strong hindquarters well define angulations front and rear, moved well front and rear. Please to award her BOB, BPIB, Winner of Terrier Puppy Group and Reserve Best Minor Puppy in Show.    

2nd MacKay: Locheil I Ain’t No Quitter

16-month-old male white with mainly tan facial markings. Lovely typical pleasing masculine head and expression, without any coarseness. Well placed ears flat skull, bright dark almond shaped eyes, firm muzzle, good jaw, correct bite, coal black nose. Clean line to a firm neck, good front, well boned throughout, good legs and feet, well angles to fore and aft. Well bodied, well-muscled, plenty depth to chest, level topline, tail not quite as erect as winner. On the move moved in a smooth action, displaying a sound rear drive.

Elegant 4 yr old grizzle and tan bitch, well shown by handler, always looked lovely, attentive when standing, stood over the ground well, displayed a shapely body figure, nice size overall. Feminine bitch, dark pigmentation to nose, lovely dark eyes, coal black nose. Ears set correctly close to face, strong short muzzle, correct bite, attractive expression. Good narrow body of good length throughout, covered in a good harsh textured coat. Straight topline leading to a good tail set, tail carried correctly, well-made and typical moved and showed well. Pleased to award her BOB. 

2nd Booth: Cottown Beech Sandend

Delightful 13-month exhibit shown by a very capable young lady, who showed off her exhibit very well and pushed the winner hard. Attractive grizzle and tan exhibit, charming head and delightful expression, nicely balanced head and dark eye. Well placed ear set, broad skull, short strong muzzle, correct bite. Lovely neckline, neck flowing into well laid shoulders, good front assembly, straight front legs, correct feet. Body coming along nicely for age fairly long and narrow, good depth to chest, straight topline, shapely hindquarters. Moved very smartly around the ring.

Upstanding 5 yr old wheaten bitch, really standing proud showing of her shapely figure. Well presented exhibit, soft silky coat of good texture covering the body and head well. Lovely strong yet feminine head and expression, good width to skull, well hung leathers, expressive dark eyes, with good eyebrows above, good depth to stop, strong muzzle of good length, coal black nose. Strong neck, dead level topline, lovely angulation to front and rear. Plenty depth to chest good ribcage, well-muscled throughout, firm shapely hindquarters. On the move showed firm driving actions and pleasing front action. Pleased to award her Best AVNSC and Terrier Group Three.

Grand 7 yr old Red and white bitch, dam of the SBT Open winner. Totally honest exhibit lovely quality, very typy and sound, fitted the standard well. Showed with plenty of spirit enjoying herself, standing proud. Soundly constructed all though, plenty of muscle tone on show, pleasing outline. Lovely, mature head, soft dark eyes, broad skull, good cheek muscles, strong muzzle. Lovely broad chest, plenty depth to chest, firm topline.
