I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for the opportunity to judge this beautiful breed, and to the exhibitors for their amazing support. Thank you also to my steward Jo, who did a fantastic job. Unfortunately, the weather conditions didn’t allow us to use our allocated ring outside and the ring inside can be challenging for some. None the less, I was spoilt with quality exhibits today and was impressed with presentation. They were all a pleasure to go over.

1. Mrs C P Savell’s PETRANELLA STRIKE IT LUCKY

Although stood alone, it was clear to see the quality of this L/W, 8 month old boy. A well balanced head with deep square flews. Good reach of neck, well laid shoulders and good length of upper arm, allowing for his tucked in elbows to be placed well under the body. Lovely angulation front and rear which had good symmetry giving a lovely balanced profile. He was sound and happy on the move holding his top line well. BPIB. I was absolutely delighted to see him go on to win Group 4.

Mrs J Weyman’s SPUFFING BELLINI 

I liked so much about this feminine L/W girl who at just 18 months old had a maturity about her. She was compact and balanced throughout without exaggeration. A pleasing head with a lovely dark eye and expression. She had good depth of body with a well sprung rib and was strong in loin. Sound on the move with well muscled hind legs driving well behind. Well presented in good coat. BOB. I was so thrilled to see her go on to win G4.

2. Mrs KC Taubman’s MEONSTOKE WILD THYME IR JCH

Pretty L/W girl of 22 months old. Lovely head with good width of skull and deep square flews. She has a beautiful expression from her dark eye. Good reach of neck and well laid in shoulder. Her ribs are well sprung and she has good muscle tone to her rear with a moderate bend to her stifle. She was shown in immaculate condition as always with this kennel. Unfortunately, the ring surface was not to this girl’s liking today and sadly her stacking and movement suffered for it.

Mrs M Hydon’s LOXBOURNE HUSTLE AND BUSTLE IR JCH

A pleasing head with good width to her skull. She had a beautiful kind expression from her dark, almond shaped eye and deep flews. Lovely reach of neck and good top line. She was well balanced with good angulation front and rear. I would have liked a little more width to her chest but her body had good depth. Her movement was a joy to watch. Holding her top line, with her forward reach and rear extension perfectly equidistant. She was beautifully handled and at one with her owner. 

2. Mrs P Strover’s SEASPRING WINDCATCHER AT CHIPWYAN

B/W Bitch of 5 years old. A nice profile on the stack with no exaggerations. Head balanced with good width of muzzle. She has good bone throughout and stood on well padded, neat feet. I would have liked a little more bend to her stifle but she had lovely muscle tone in her first and second thigh. Her top line was level with strong couplings. Sound on the move. It was a close call for 1st but this girl just didn’t have the movement of one today.

Mrs KC Taubman’s IR SH CH MELTAROSE MADELEINE AT MEONSTOKE

Lots to like about this 6 year old L/W Bitch. Lovely head with a good width of skull and deep flews. Good reach of neck, a well laid shoulder. She stood only lovely straight with a good forechest. She was well boned and had a good depth of body. Nicely angulated front and rear with a correct, moderate bend to her stifle. Beautifully presented and moved holding her topline well with enthusiasm. 2. Mrs J Weyman’s MORE THAN AMAZING WANNA BE A GANGSTER AT SPUFFING JW (IMP BEL) 

L/W/T boy of 3 years old. Masculine head with a good width to muzzle and deep square flews. Beautiful well laid shoulders with good angulation and good length to upper arm, placing elbows well under body. Good depth to body and well sprung rib. Nice width of thigh with good muscle tone. Unfortunately he played his handler up a little today and consequently didn’t move as well as he could have. 

3. Mrs D West GROSBREUIL ABRICOT REGAL

Just 15 days shy of her 10th birthday, this pretty L/W girl is looking fabulous for her age. A pleasing outline with nice angulation. Moved well with enthusiasm. In great condition and presented beautifully.
