So. Wales Corgi Club Open Show 22/08/2026

Cardigan Corgis  

Many Thanks to South Wales CC for my invitation to judge Cardigan Corgis at their Open Show. Thanks also to the exhibitors for giving me the opportunity to judge their dogs. it was a pleasure to go over some really lovely dogs. Temperaments overall were superb, dentation mostly good, quality and presentation were excellent. 

Baby Puppy Dog or Bitch (2)

Two promising puppies, lots to like about both.

1. Taylor’s Tamlin Easy Choice: A baby of just 5 months, sweetest of expression and temperament, I liked her overall shape, plenty of bone to correct round feet. Good reach of neck, moved out with a confidence for one so young 2. Taylors Tamlin The Big Easy: Litter brother to 1 Much of the same applies, Masculine head, plenty of substance throughout, again he moved around the ring with confidence. 

Minor Puppy Dog (2)

1.Irving’s Twinan Dragon Rider: 8-month black brindle & white boy fits the type in every way, correct head ratio with dark eyes, large ears so typical of the breed. Plenty of bone to correct feet, perfectly short nails. Good angulation, well ribbed, Level topline Moving true both coming and away. BP RBD 2. Anderson & Thomas Chris Team Viva Roberto at Andercor (Imp Pol): 8-month brindle point tri, smaller type, but well balanced and gave a good account of himself. Attractive masculine head, good bone throughout, ample length of neck to a level topline, moved well. 

Puppy Dog (3)  

1. Irving’s Dragon Rider (1st Minor Puppy Dog) 2. Anderson & Thomas Chris Team Viva Roberto at Andercor (Imp Pol) (2nd Minor Puppy Dog) 3. Jordan’s Gowerston Gunsmoke with Jakovall

Junior Dog (1) 

1. Jordan’s Gowerston Gunsmoke with Jakovall: Masculine blue merle, well up to size, Attractive head of good planes. Good bone and plenty of substance. Moved out well, put out in excellent condition.

Post Graduate Dog (1)

1. Smith’s Elessar Dark Moon Rising: Brindle & white, Super masculine head and expression. Ample bone, strong neck to level topline, well angulated and moved well.

Limit Dog (2)

1. Anderson & Thomas Tamlin Hillbilly Rock at Andercor (ai): Brindle point tri, good head and expression, correct round tight feet, good reach of neck, would like to see more of him, needs time to mature and tighten up. Presented in top condition 2. Langford’s Gowerston Geriant of Caprian Jw: Another Bpt who came up close to 1, Masculine head of correct proportions, good length of neck, well ribbed, strong bone, moved well just preferred the front movement of 1.

Open Dog (2)

1.Taylor & Michalski’s Pol Ch. Dom Corgi Easy Boost (Imp Pol): What a pleasure to go over this super brindle & white boy, he just oozed breed type, masculine head with kind expression, plenty of bone to well-rounded padded feet. Good length of neck on strong shoulders leading to level topline. Well, angulated enabling him to move with reach and drive. BD BOB BV 2. Irving’s Twinan True Grit Jw: Another super boy who pushed 1 all the way, In a smaller mould but nevertheless perfectly balanced. Attractive head of good proportions, dark eyes giving a kind expression good bone to perfectly shaped feet, shoulder and rear angulation gave him the movement required to power him in the ring. Presented in pristine condition Just lost out to his younger kennel mate for the RBD

1. Taylor’s Tamlin Mom’s Rum Cake: 8-month Brindle & white, feminine girl, dark eyes giving a lovely expression. Good length of neck to correct shoulder placement. Level topline, moved well with confidence. Lots to like at this age. BPB 2. Langford’s Lidoffad Lucy of Caprian: Another quality brindle, feminine head, good eyes, ears and bite, adequate bone, would prefer a more rounded foot, level topline, moved well, has all the attributes at this age 3. Evan’s Lidoffad Star

1. Sanders Do You Love Me Z Jurajskiego Zamku Gowerston (Imp Pol): 15 months blue merle, super colouring, loved her head and kind expression, well placed ears, good shoulder to level topline Moved well, presented in top condition. 2. Field & Morgans Under Moonlight Ferarry Stile for Cariedw: Blue merle of a smaller type, feminine head, correct eyes, and ear set. Adequate bone to correct round feet. Kept her topline as she moved well with confidence.

Limit Bitch (5) 2 absent

1. Anderson & Thomas Tamlin Boot Scoot Boogie at Andercor (ai): Blue merle of good size, lots to like about this feminine girl, good eye, and large well-rounded ears. Strong bone to rounded well padded feet. Well ribbed, good angulation, moved well.RBB 2. James Gowerston Gracelyn at Bwthyn: A smaller brindle point tri. A feminine girl, not quite the substance of 1 but adequate. Pretty head, good length of neck to level topline. Moved ok 3. Langford’s Caprian Adrianna Jw 


Open Bitch (4) 1 absent

Chris Team Bakalia for Tamlin Jw (Imp Pol): Quality Brindle bitch, Feminine throughout, dark eyes. good ears which she used to perfection, neat well-rounded feet. lovely neck, flowing into correct angulation front and rear moved round the ring, owning it.BB RBOB 2. Irving’s Twinan Truly Outrageous Jw: Another quality bitch, pushed hard for 1st Great head of good proportions Correct ears used to her advantage, good lay of shoulder, correct neat, rounded feet, short nails. Level topline balanced throughout moved round the ring with purpose. 3. Caul’s Glynaeron Glesni at Rhiwelli 

Veteran Bitch (1)

1.Langford’s Caprian the Vixen Jw: 8-year-old brindle, well boned, good shape overall, feminine head of good proportions, dark eye, using her ears well. Enough bone, firm ribbing and topline, moved out and back with purpose. BVB
