I would like to thank the officers and committee for asking me to judge at your show. A thanks must also go to my two stewards who kept the ring running smoothly. A big thank you to the exhibitors for your lovely entry. There were some tough decisions and you all showed good sportsmanship which was nice to see. I was also delighted to see my Best of Breed winner go group 4 in a lovely gundog group line up.

Retriever (labrador) Junior (6, 2abs)

1st Pearson’s Sudeo Supercharged. 9mth old yellow dog who looked lovely on the stand. He had a nice broad head with a well defined stop, brown medium eyes and good ears that hang close to the head. Shoulders well laid back, good depth of chest and straight forelegs. Level topline and well turned stifle. Tail of medium length. Moved round the ring okay when I could see the movement.

2nd Drummond’s Sudeo In For A Penny TAF. 13mth old Black Bitch another who looked good on the stand and was attentive to her handler. Good head with well defined stop and nice medium sized eyes, good neck that went into well laid shoulders. Good depth of chest, level topline and hocks well let down. Just preferred the stance and head of one on the day. On another day it could go the other way round.

Retriever (Labrador) Graduate (5, 1abs)

1st Givan’s Sudeo Game Changer 13mth old Black Dog who moved round the ring with drive. Good head with a well defined stop and broad skull. Jaws are strong and good teeth. Black nose and brown eyes. Strong neck leading into well placed shoulders. Forelegs straight and feet round. Good depth of chest with well sprung ribs and level topline. Hocks well let down.

2nd Pollock’s Pollham Bracara 2 year old Yellow Bitch with a kind nature and intelligent expression. Good head with jaw of medium length. Good neck set into well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest and level topline. Forelegs straight. Well turned stifle and tail of medium length. Moved round the ring well.

Retriever (Labrador) Open (4,2abs)

1st Pollock’s Pollham Jump For Joy 4 year old Yellow Bitch who caught my eye when she entered the ring. On profile she looks like a labrador, short coupled and strongly built. Lovely head with a well defined stop and broad skull. Ear set was really good. Medium sized eyes and a nice black nose. Strong neck leading into well placed shoulders and a good depth of chest with well sprung barrel ribs. Upper arm of equal length and straight forelegs. Level topline leading with strong loins and well let down hocks. Moved round the ring covering the ground well and true movement. Best of Breed and was pleased to see her gain group 4 in a lovely gundog group.

2nd Gartland’s Baltarram Palm Royale At Knoydar 22mth old Yellow Bitch who was unfortunate to meet one today. Good head with a lovely expression. Well defined stop, brown eyes and black nose. Strong jaws and good dentition. Forelegs straight, feet round and compact. Well sprung ribs and level topline. Good turn of stifle. Tail of medium length. Moved round the ring okay.
