Judge Miss Mhairi Scrimgeour (Velvetine) 

I would like to thank the committee for asking me to judge for them today. It was an honor and a privilege to put my hands on so many lovely dogs. Thanks also go to my stewards whom without, my ring would have descended into chaos. I would also like to thank all owners for letting me go over them. Many hard choices had to be made throughout my classes, so thank you for accepting my placings with good grace.

I must say a huge well done to the veterans who all were presented in such good form.

LABRADOR 

P (5:0) 1st Hosking CORNISHWATER WHEALPROSPER. 9 month yellow dog with lovely masculine head and expression, not over done, strongly built youngster, good proportions, well balanced throughout, standing on good feet with ample bone, top line is level and tail set correctly. Moved soundly with drive. (BPIB) 2ND Braddon TRENDLEWOOD FOR ALL WE KNOW. 7 month yellow dog, very nice youngster, well balanced, super head and expression good front and rear, , moved well once settled, just needs time. 3RD Evans LORETTA NIGHT FURY OVER EMINALA (IMP USA) NAF TAF. 4TH Braddon TRENDLEWOOD ONLY YESTERDAY. 

SY (4:2) 1st Mills JAYBEC WINTER YULE JW. This youngsters head is still a little raw but will come with time, nothing overdone, nice depth to his chest, good pigment, well balanced through out, nice tight feet, standing on good bone, well let down hocks, moved well covering the ground. 2ND Moy's QUEEN OF RAIN. Nice youngster of good type, good head and expression, correct mouth, straight front. Stands on nice feet with ample bone, level topline held both in stand and on move, moved out well. 

G (4:1) Such a shame 1 of the dogs had to be withdrawn before I got to put hands on as she looked to be of super type, hope to be able to assess this lovely looking girl in the future. 1st Kennett MAGNAVALLEYS MIMOSA JW. 20 month choc girl, so much to like about this girl, in great condition, loved her sweet expression, lovely typical head, eye colour fab, good length of muzzle, strong neck into well placed shoulders, strong legs, good top line, correct angle front and back, moved with purpose and drive, covering the ground well, movement going and coming.(BOB) 2nD Longhurst HURSTMEON JUST MY CUP OF TEA. Nice shaped girl. Very much the same comments as 1st, just preferred the movement on 1. 

PG (6:3) 1st Hosking CORNISHWATER SPRINGTIDE. Lovely black girl, she has good length of muzzle with correct ear carriage, very feminine with sweet expression, strong neck in to good lay back of shoulder, good double coat of correct texture, standing on good strong legs with lovely tight feet, correct angles front and rear, moved out with purpose. 2ND Philpott CLARISVIEW PRIMROSE. Appealing yellow girl of type, nice feminine head with lovely expression and dark eyes, flowing outline in profile. well ribbed back to short loin and strong well muscled quarters, straight front with good feet, Moved soundly with good tail carriage. 3RD Jeffery LEMBAS BROOKLYN AT MIBRIDGE. 

OD (4:0) 1ST Kennett MAGNAVALLEYS OVER THE MOON Lots to like about this boy, lovely head with good expression and kind eye, ears placed correctly, nice straight front well sprung rib, good bend of stifle with well let down hocks, firm level topline, good tail set, Covered the ground effortlessly. Stunning boy. (RBOB) 2ND Evans TRENDWOOD LONG TIME COMIN AT PUDLEIGH JW. Comments similar to 1st. Bigger made boy, again I just prefered 1st on movement. 3rd Swift HEMPSBECK SCRUPLES. 4TH Foster ROCHEVALE BEAL JW. 

OB (10:5) 1ST Evans Lux/Bel/Rom CH EMINALA STAR STRUCK FARNFIELD. Lovely mature feminine yellow bitch who caught my eye when she entered ring. balanced throughout, nice head and expression, correct scissor bite, good layback of shoulders, level topline and good tail set, well barreled ribs, nice depth to chest, nicely angled fore and aft, covered the ground with ease. 2ND Philpott ROSSACRE SPANGLES OF CLARISVIEW. Pale yellow bitch slightly showing her age but still a credit to her owners, nice type of girl, everything in the right place, lovely head and eyes, good reach of neck, well placed shoulders, good bone, carried a little to much weight for me but still a very pleasing example of this wonderful breed. 3RD Fishlock. CARPENNY HALSHIMOOR DELICIOUS (AI). 4TH Mills JAYBEC WINTER WISPA JW. 

GORDON SETTER 

SY (3:0) 1ST Hollamby KEWSTROKE MAKING WAVES. 2 lovely sisters, I was splitting hairs, Lovely expression, broad head, defined stop, long neck leading into point of shoulder and well-developed forequarters. Elbows tight to the body, well-developed forequarters. Body well ribbed with strong loin. Nice steady mover (BOB) 2ND Smith KEWSTOKE SEA QUEEN ZENA. Similar comments to 1st, as I said splitting hairs.(RBOB). 3RD Jones RHIWGERRIG SONATINA.(BPIB) 

PG (1:0) 1st Jarvis BEECHLAKE SOMERSETTER.

He has a typical head of good proportions, well defined stop, with good expression, ears set low and close to head, Well laid shoulders , good angles front and back, covered ground with ease.

ENGLISH SPRINGER 

G (3:0) 1ST Watts PEASBLOSSOM EROS Masculine head with pleasing eye shape and colour, ears well set, well boned straight front and tight feet, well balanced and moved well. (RBOB). 2ND Kibby PINHAYS PRIDE AND JOY. Pleasing head with good proportions, good depth of muzzle, nice ear placement and eye colour, Good depth of chest, well ribbed back to short loin, covered the ground well. 3RD Stevens BUMBLECORN QUEST. (2:1) 1ST Kibby TRIMERE TAYLOR MAID AT PINHAYS JW ShCEx OSW. Although she stood alone in class she caught my eye right away, lovely L&W with good bone and shape, carrying a good coat typical ESS profile, oozed confidence. Nice hazel eyes and well set ears, straight front and neat feet., good angles fore and aft, she is a joy to watch on the move, covered the ground with ease . (BOB).

WELSH SPRINGER

P (1:0) 1ST Morgan RUBYDOWN SUMMER MAGIC. Liked her very much. Took her time to settle. I liked her overall shape and correct front and she holds a good topline both stacked and on the move, she has a pretty head with a lovely expression, lovely neck flowing into a good lay of shoulder, beautiful coat, moved out well. (RBOB, BPIB) 

G (3:1) 1ST Morgan RUBYDOWN SUMMER MAGIC. 1st in previous class. 2ND Attwood ROXDALE WISPA BY KYLOWEN. Lovely head and expression with good chiseling under the eyes. Feminine head with a correct dark eye. Good mouth, Nice straight front, balanced in profile with well laid shoulders and good angles well off for bone. Moved well holding her topline. 

OD (4:1) 1ST Reynolds BENOVEOR THE SHOW MUST GO ON Nice compact dog, lovely masculine head and expression, rich colouring, plenty of neck, good shoulder placement, Well off for bone with compact feet. Excellent angulation fore/aft, lovely movement. (BOB). 2ND Attwood IR SH CH KYLOWEN DRYM ShCEX IR VCH VW. Shown in excellent firm condition, solidly built dog, plenty of breed type, best of heads with dark eyes, good neck into nice shoulders, well boned, good spring of rib, Correct angulation fore/aft, Sound mover for his age. 3rd Mercer AMBLELIGHT OLEANDER. 

OB (6:1) 1ST Lamport GLENBROWS HOPEFULNESS. A more mature girl. Such lovely breed type, beautiful head and eye. Great front, strong body good overall balance and the best of quarters, stylish mover, using her tail to advantage 2ND Morgan BENOVEOR ENDLESS LOVE AT RUBYDOWN. Feminine head with good skull and muzzle, nice eye shape and colour and good length to neck, set into good shoulders, lovely bone, balanced throughout, good feet. moved soundly with drive around the ring. 3RD Reynolds BENOVEOR CANT’ BUT ME LOVE. 4TH Blackford AMBLELIGHT ADHARA JW.

HUNGARIAN WIREHAIRED VIZSLA 

O (1:0) Gibbons & Beardshall KARNDOR ADA Lovely head and expression with moderate stop, Neck of good length leading onto well laid shoulders, good front with nice width, Level topline and slightly sloping croup, tail well set, well let-down hocks. Moved well.(BOB).

A/V SPECIAL VETERAN DOG 

(9:3) 1ST Fenn, CHALKSVILLE HIGHLANDER AT JANDEBURN, (RBVIS) Lovely rich golden lad, shown in full coat, well balanced head masculine but well balanced with a kind eye of correct colour, pleasing expression, correct reach of neck, deep chest, stifles are strong and unexaggerated, with straight rear pasterns. very well off for bone, good angulation, not showing his age, he moved out very well and covered the ground with ease. (Golden). 2nd Challis HIGHFORCE FUTURE LEGEND FOR VIZSLANYA JW ShCEx VW, 10 yr old Hungarian Vizsla. Soundly constructed lad shown in good hard condition, lovely balanced boy, masculine head with good eye colour & expression, well developed nostrils and scissor bite, strong hindquarters with moderate turn of stifle, good tail set carried well on the move. He was unlucky to meet my winner today. (Vizsla). 3RD Pike, REDCLYST BORIS VW, (Iris Setter). 4th Ward, MELANITTA PALMATA JW, (NSDT).

(15:5) 1ST McCabe-Bell’s GRANDTULLY ELIZA DOOLITTLE VW (Cocker) Such a sweet girl of lovely balanced proportions, not showing her 9 years of age, feminine pretty head, Square muzzled with distinct stop, dark eyes with intelligent and gentle expression, ears set low and level with eyes, Well made forequarters with well laid shoulders, good spring of rib, well rounded hindquarters and good turn of stifle, beautifully presented and showed herself off wonderfully, coat silky and feathering in all the right places, covered the ground well with confidence(BVIS). 2nd Milton, MANTEAUPLAT BLACK PIPPIN Another lovely bitch who was unfortunate to meet 1 today, lovely balanced head with soft expression as well as a nice (Flatcoat) 3rd Mills, TRENDALWOOD DAY DREAMING (Labrador). 4th Harding, KINGSMIST MISS MARPLE JW (Field Spaniel). 

A/V GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME (23:16) 1ST Jeffery LEMBAS BROOKLYN AT MIBRIDGE.(Labrador)Gave him 3rd in his breed class, he is a fit lad playing his handle at times, better mannered in this class, very masculine boy with a broad skull, good eye colour, kind expression, level top line and tail set, tail used to advantage, good strong bone, well ribbed, well defined 2nd thigh, carries an excellent coat, a well balance dog, moved well. 2ND Kibby TRIMERE TAYLOR MAID AT PINHAYS JW ShCEx OSW. (English Springer) Got BOB in his breed class. 3rd Attwood ROXDALE WISPA BY KYLOWEN. (Welsh Springer). 4th Watts PEASBLOSSOM EROS (English Springer).

(12:7) 1ST Hipkiss NSDT. Mother and daughter team, well matched and moved together with power and drive, well synchronized. 2ND Disney LARGE MUNSTERLANDER. Bother and sister pairing, another team that moved well together and covered the ground well. 3RD Hadfield IRISH SETTER. 4TH McIlwaine & McIlwaine & Reynolds FLATCOATED RETRIEVER.
