I'd like to thank the Eastern Counties Dachshund Association for asking for myself to judge and providing such welcoming hospitality. I'd also like to thank my stewards Sue and Graham for keeping the rings running so smoothly. Thank you to all those that entered under myself. It was a pleasure to go over your dogs.

1st - Muggleton's Rozamie Respectable

Well-balanced red bitch with a beautiful feminine head. Excellent dark pigmentation, with almond-shaped eyes and a correct bite. Good length of neck flowing into a correct front assembly, with lovely tight-fitting elbows. I would prefer slightly more forechest, although this should develop with maturity. Good balance of angulation, contributing to her overall pleasing outline. Superb harsh texture to her dense, rich red coat. Maintained her topline throughout, which was a key factor in securing her the win today. Moved well with excellent reach and drive. A well balanced bitch. Delighted to award her BOB.

2nd - Jaskolska's Kenbloom Mazda

Wild boar bitch who was taller and slightly narrower in overall build compared with the class winner today. Feminine head with a correct bite. Good length of neck, although slightly upright in shoulder. Good length of ribbing and pleasing coat with a good harsh texture. Unfortunately, she was slightly bum-high and lost her topline at times on the move, which affected her overall outline. However, she had a fabulous temperament and carried herself with confidence around the ring. She definitely enjoyed her day out.

1st - Ward-Blower's Dajean Surely Keifer at Willowmist

Chocolate male with a strong, masculine head and lovely furnishings. Slightly larger in overall type, but balanced. Good shoulder placement, although I would prefer slightly tighter elbows. Good length of ribbing. Maintained a level topline on the move with good ground clearance.

2nd - Gaut-Jones' Rosenbach Christmas Star

Wild boar bitch with a feminine head of correct proportions and pleasing eyes. Fair length of neck flowing into a satisfactory shoulder assembly. I would prefer slightly more length of ribbing. Adequate rear angulation. Unfortunately, lost her topline at times on the move today, and her rear movement was slightly closer than that of the class winner.

Limit Dog or Bitch (3)

1st - Foley's Bimini Alfie Moon at Clavenne

Wild boar male with a good, well-proportioned head. Almond eyes and a correct scissor bite. Good length of neck and ribbing. Well constructed throughout, with pleasing ground clearance and overall balance. Covered the ground with clean, effortless action. Would benefit from carrying his head higher on the move to fully demonstrate his true outline and overall balance, although unfortunately he was rather interested in the scents on the ground today.

2nd - Ward-Blower' Dajean Surely Keifer at Willowmist

1st - Magri's Gilcoru Luigi Rozamie

Wild boar dog with a lovely, strong head, pleasing almond-shaped eyes and a correct bite. Well-constructed front assembly and a strong, level topline. Well balanced overall, with good rear angulation. Good harsh coat texture. Unfortunately, he was very nervous today and appeared unsettled initially on the move. However, nice parallel movement when settled. Very well handled and presented.

1st - MacFarlan's Granhoward Lilly

9 1⁄2-year-old bitch who looked fabulous for her age. Feminine, well-balanced head with good expression. Good length of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders. I would have preferred slightly more forechest, although this did not detract from her overall balance. Good length and depth of ribbing, plenty of ground clearance and well-angulated rear quarters. Maintained a good topline throughout movement. A very pleasing veteran who has retained her condition remarkably well for her age. RBOB.

1st - Jaskolska's Kenaspire Fortune and Luck

Well-marked dapple. Lovely ear length and correct bite. Very immature, as expected for this class. Needs time to develop and fill out. Very confident and happy dog.

Puppy Dog or Bitch (4)

1st - Taylor's Whitewebbs Obi Wan

Rich red dog with a strikingly masculine head and excellent expression. Correct eye shape and scissor bite. Good length of neck flowing into a well-laid shoulder. Deep chest with good ribbing and nicely muscled hindquarters. Level topline, with good overall balance and construction. Good reach and drive, with excellent parallel movement, which ultimately secured the win. BPIB and pleased to see him go RBPIS.

2nd - Bosworth's Bronia Rihanna at Louromi

Another very promising puppy with plenty to like. Attractive shaded red with a feminine head, good almond-shaped eyes and a correct bite. Good length of ribbing and a well-laid shoulder with tight elbows. Prosternum is not quite as developed as the class winner at present, but this should improve with further maturity. Well-muscled quarters and a good, well-maintained topline. Unfortunately, she was up against a very strong class winner today.

1st - Herald's Winterfield Whiskey Maude

Red bitch with a lovely feminine head and correct scissor bite. Good lay of shoulder, although I would prefer slightly tighter elbows. Good length of ribbing with pleasing ground clearance. Well-angulated, nicely developed quarters. Maintained a good topline both standing and on the move. Good reach and drive. RBOB.

Post Graduate Dog or Bitch (5,2)

1st - Muggleton's Sweet Creature

Well-sized, balanced red bitch with a pleasing head and well-shaped eye. Correct bite. Good front construction with a lovely deep chest. Ribbing is slightly shorter than I would ideally prefer. Strong, well-developed hindquarters, giving her free-flowing movement and excellent drive. Maintained a good topline both standing and throughout movement. Her overall balance and movement ultimately secured her the class win.

2nd - Bosworth's Bronia Solange at Louromi JW

Another lovely red bitch who was very closely considered alongside the class winner. Attractive feminine head with a correct bite. Good length of neck flowing nicely into a well-laid shoulder, with excellent tight elbows. I would prefer slightly more prosternum. Good hind angulation and overall balance. Unfortunately, she appeared slightly nervous and somewhat unsettled on the move, which affected her overall presentation and ultimately cost her the class win. This may have been influenced by the uneven ground.

1st - Bullingham's Stoweytop Susie

Black and tan bitch with a small, feminine head and good almond-shaped eyes. Correct bite. Good front assembly with a deep forechest and tight elbows. Pleasing length of ribbing. Well-angulated hindquarters with good parallel movement and ground clearance. Moved soundly overall, although she did lose her topline at times whilst moving.

2nd - Foley's Loggeta Lucky Swirl at Clavennae

Beautifully patterned red brindle bitch with a lovely feminine head and correct bite. Good length of neck flowing into well-set shoulders, with tight elbows and pleasing ground clearance. Ribbing is slightly shorter than the class winner. Slightly longer in rear pastern, which unfortunately resulted in a somewhat high rear and affected the topline. Moved well with good overall soundness.

1st - Watkinson's Logetta Boom and Bust

Wow — what a beautiful example of the breed. Remarkably youthful for a 9-year-old, showing very little sign of her age. Rich red in colour with beautiful dark, almond-shaped eyes and a correct bite. Excellent front assembly with tight-fitting elbows, a deep chest and well-sprung ribs. Powerful, well-muscled hindquarters and good ground clearance. Beautifully balanced throughout, with excellent bone and substance. Superb movement, absolutely parallel coming and going, with excellent reach and drive. A pleasure to judge and one who truly impressed me. Delighted to award her BOB.

2nd - Bullingham's Rozamie Making Magic

Another lovely red bitch who was unfortunate to meet such a strong class winner today. Very pleasing feminine head with good expression. Good length of neck flowing into a satisfactory shoulder assembly, with lovely tight elbows and pleasing ground clearance. Good depth of chest and a good length of ribbing. Strong, well-developed hindquarters. Maintained a level topline with good overall movement. A very pleasing bitch to go over, but on the day I preferred the overall balance and movement of the class winner.

2nd - Halsall's Grews Iridessa for Kiddles 

8-year-old brindle bitch who moved particularly well for her age. Lovely dark, almond-shaped eyes with a correct bite and pleasing expression. Good length of neck flowing into correctly placed shoulders, although I would prefer slightly tighter elbows. Good depth of chest with pleasing length of ribbing. Maintained a level topline. Sound, efficient movement and a pleasing overall presentation for her age.

1st - Taverener's Cheritondax Marsanne at Tavertekal

Nice cream bitch with good pigmentation and pleasing overall balance. Lovely tight elbows and a good, well-maintained topline. Promising potential, although still very immature at present, as would be expected for this class. Confident on the move and proudly carrying her tail. Very nicely presented.

Puppy Dog or Bitch (5,1)

1st - Whitnall's Jentiki Dark Night for Cankasper

Black and tan male with a beautiful masculine head and excellent ear length. Correct scissor bite with good, dark nose pigmentation and pleasing almond-shaped eyes. Slightly upright in shoulder. Good ribbing and bone throughout. Level topline maintained. Sound, purposeful action, covering the ground. Coat presented in beautiful condition. BPIB and pleased to see him take BPIS.

2nd - Palmer's Jentiki Midnight Star

Another black and tan male with good dark pigmentation, correct bite and pleasing eye shape. Slightly smaller head than the class winner, although still well-balanced and masculine. I preferred his front construction to that of the class winner, with a good amount of ribbing and pleasing overall balance. Unfortunately, his rear movement was not quite as parallel as the class winners today, which ultimately separated them. Very well handled and presented, and I hope to see the handler continue with this breed.

1s t- Neasby's Erinshore Red Robin for Ulani

Red male with a smart, pleasing head, correct bite and good almond-shaped eye. Good length of neck flowing into well-laid shoulders, although I would prefer slightly tighter elbows. Good amount of ribbing and a level topline maintained. Reasonably hindquarters with good muscle and purposeful movement. Coat presented well overall, although I found it to be slightly curly in places. Good overall balance. RBOB

2nd - Valentine's Lampcien Fatal Attractio for Tiffwazz

Beautiful black and tan bitch with a great deal to like. Lovely feminine head with excellent jet-black pigmentation and almond-shaped eyes. Excellent movement, travelling very parallel and true both coming and going, while maintaining a level topline throughout. Coat presented in beautiful condition. Unfortunately, she was quite unsettled on the table today, which prevented her from showing herself to her full potential. Had she been more settled, I feel she would have been a strong contender for the class win. I have no doubt that with time she'll gain confidence and have a successful future in the ring. A lovely bitch with considerable potential, and I wish her handler every success with her.

1st - Palmer's Hedgefen Girl from Mars

Red bitch who was a little more petite than I would ideally prefer. She has a pleasing feminine head with lovely dark, almond-shaped eyes. Good length of neck, although slightly upright in shoulder. Good length of ribbing and well-angulated hindquarters. Moved with good parallel action and maintained her topline, which secured her the class win. She would benefit from gaining a little more body and I hope this will come with time. Very well handled and presented.

2nd - Taverner's Brackenfire My Honey Bee at Tavertekal.

Black and tan bitch with a pleasing head, although I would prefer darker pigmentation. Good length of neck flowing into a very good shoulder assembly, which I preferred to the class winner, with lovely tight elbows. Good length of ribbing and pleasing depth of body. Well-angulated hindquarters. I actually preferred her overall shape and substance compared to the class winner. But unfortunately, she lost her topline at times on the move, and the rear movement was not quite as parallel as the class winner, which ultimately separated them today.

1st - Wood's CH Wildstar Wrivera

A stunning red bitch, thoroughly deserving of her champion status. Feminine head with lovely dark, almond-shaped eyes and a correct bite. Good length of neck flowing elegantly into well-set shoulders. Well-bodied throughout, with excellent length and depth of ribbing. Balanced rear quarters with good muscle. Beautiful outline both standing and on the move, with excellent parallel movement and strong drive. Presented in superb coat condition and an outstanding, rich red colour. A beautifully balanced bitch, full of breed type and quality, who was a real pleasure to judge. My sincere thanks to her owner for bringing such a beautiful Champion under me today. Pleased to award her BOB and see her go BIS.
