As always, I must start by thanking Jackie and her committee for inviting me to judge at their show, thanks to my steward, for assisting me so well and last but not least, the exhibitors that trusted me with their lovely entries, although small in numbers today, I found all entries have some lovely qualities, we were blessed with a ring of enough size to show off the movement both breeds need to show themselves at their best, which they definitely did.

1st Wensley & Wensley’s Ch/Int/Multi Ch Constella Hazy Cosmic Jive JW

5 Y/old Tricolour nicely proportioned, giving the correct overall Smooth outline, correct head, with good parallel head planes in correct equal lengths, nice, perceptible stop. Eyes dark and almond shape, obliquely set, but just giving slight perception of needing to be a little more on the set. Ears of good size and placement but just weren’t always playing ball today with the tipping, as overall was being a bit fidgety and his handler was having to work hard with him today. Good powerful, nicely arched neck, into a nice lay-back of shoulder, placing front legs correctly under body. Well sprung ribs, back is level, but just tends to every so often shifts stance, which then shows a dip in it, good rise over loins and well-muscled thighs, with a nice bend of stile and powerful hocks, which help with his good steady movement. RBoB

O Bitch (2-1)

1st Benton’s Ch Blamorder Double Or Quits of Oakestelle

2 Y/old Tricolour, really nice head planes, with correct wedge shape. Eyes of good size, shape and placement, giving an overall sweet, yet mischievous expression. ears well-placed, tipping (most of the time), maybe just a little large in proportions. Good, powerful, nicely arched neck, with good layback of shoulders, would like legs to be a little further under the withers, good deep chest, with well sprung ribs, good length of body with level topline, leading into a nice arch over the loins, strong, muscular thighs and nice turn of stifle, strong hocks, which again transferred well into an effortless gait, moving around the ring with purpose. BOB

V (2-1)

1st Benton’s Ch Oakestelle Artemis ShCEx VW

9 Y/old Blue Mearle Bitch, who I have watch since she was a puppy, and belies her age. Good parallel head planes and slight stop intersecting to give correct divide. Well placed ears, which do tip correctly, when she wants to, very appealing expression from almond eyes, which are well placed. Still holds a good arch to good length of neck, good lay-back of shoulder, placing legs just at correct position under withers. Nice deep chest, with good spring of rib, level topline, arching nicely over the loin, good turn of stifle and hocks still strong and well let down, you would not think she was as old as she is when you watch her move effortlessly around the ring, will still give some younger dogs a run for their money.

O (4-3)

1st Connelly and Connelly’s Tickbern Jackelberry

3 Y/old dog of good size. Good head, with flat skull and well-defined stop. Dark almond eyes, good medium sized, well-placed ears. Nice strong, medium length neck, good slope of shoulder and parallel legs, nice broad chest with plenty of rib and brisket reaches well to elbow, good compact length and level topline, strong loin that rounded over loins, well-muscled rear with enough bend to stifle, maybe would like a little more? Strong hocks, compact feet all round, nice bushy tail and soft coat, was a bit fidgety for his handler in breed, but partner took into group and was rock solid on the stand, moved out really well coming and going and free flowing going round. BOB
