Kirkintilloch, Lenzie & District Canine Society - 26th April 2026

A very Scottish welcome to be had at this show and many thanks to the officers and committee of the society for the hospitality and the invite to judge. I truly enjoyed the day with some wonderful exhibits to judge on the day.

Working

Leonberger Graduate (1)

1st Mandelson, Prideofelsa Poinsettia In Honrukai. 2 year old female. Feminine head, ears well placed, strong neck into good shoulder placement. Well boned and good feet. Overall well bodied with good coat. Moved well. Best of Breed

Leonberger Open (2, 1A)

1st Macdougall, Leoflaed Just For You Prideofelsa (AI) SHCEX, 6 year old female, pretty in head with good mask. Good front, strong bone, another exhibit well in body with a good coat. Movement was okay though a little untidy in front which spoiled for BOB today.

Siberian Husky Graduate (2, 1A)

1st Wynne & Wynne, Mydisa Hielan Wee Belter, 3 year old male, excellent in head type and very alert expression, well placed shoulders and good front angulation. Strong topline, well ribbed. Movement was sound and full of purpose with tail carried correctly.

Siberian Husky Open (3, 2A)

1st Wynne & Wynne, Ch Mydisa Hielan Wee Haiver, 3 year old female, A wonderful example, good head type, very expressive, ears set high. Good bone and correct feet, overall good angulations and gave a pleasing profile. Excellent in movement retaining topline and tail carriage. Pleased to award BOB and Working Group 2

Dobermann Graduate (3, 2A) 

1st Wymer, Korifey Matisse, 3 year old female. Pleasing feminine head with correct proportions, real keen expression. Straight front with good depth of forechest, well boned and good tight feet. Strong topline, gently sloping with well muscled rear angulation, straight hocks. Movement gave plenty of drive from the rear, tail carried correctly. Though stood alone today was a good breed representative. BOB

Dogue De Bordeaux Open (2)

1st Kenyon & McKatherine, Locoluxes Whiskey Kisses For Desquire. 7 month old female, lovely headpiece, good expression, well boned, good shoulders, well ribbed back, strong in rear, moved soundly for her age.

2nd Kenyon, Kenaiteen Ruby Starlet For Desquire, 8 year old female, wonderful feminine head, tight eyes, well bodied and good muscle. Just rather untidy on the move but was completely enjoying her day.

Newfoundland Graduate (2)

1st Duff, Titanbears Primatus, 7 month old male, very collected and put together. Excellent head with dark eyes, well placed shoulders, strong in bone and good feet. Adequate depth of chest, good topline and presented in good coat. Moved so soundly at this age.

2nd Fotheringham, Shadowrise The Outsider, 6 month old male, Another truly enjoying his day, good head, clean neck, pleasing for bone, good body, good coat and well developed rear, moved ok but his overall excitement was sometimes spoiling his movement today.

Newfoundland Open (1)

1st Duff, Titanbears Excommunicado JW, IR JUN CH, SHCEX, OSW, 3 year old male, such an impressive exhibit, wonderful masculine head, dark eyes, strong muscled neck, depth of chest, good bone and feet, strong topline and well muscled rear angulation which came into its own on the move giving wonderful drive and effortless movement. BOB and no hesitation to award him Group 1 in a good Working Group. 

St Bernard Open (6, 3A)

1st Leitch, Dawstenbears Style Icon, 3 year old male, overall balanced profile and strong body, masculine head, short muzzle, well arched neck and well muscled, broad in shoulders, good depth of chest, strong bone, good feet, sound mover in all directions.

2nd Outram, Svanasjons Zenith Of Life (Imp Swe), 10 month old male, masculine head, good dark eyes, depth of chest that is developing, good bone and feet, good body, level topline that was retained on the move.

Great Dane Graduate (1)

1st Nayar, Roucandane Gap Year For Kemanilo, 9 month old female, very elegant in profile, good head carriage and eye placement, good arch of neck, pleasing front with depth of chest, well for body, and well defined rear angulation, displayed purposeful movement with good drive.

Bernese Mountain Dog Graduate (1)

1st Carty, Bernervalley Lord Of Isle, 2 year old male, masculine head with good proportions, dark almond shaped eyes, well muscled neck and adequate depth of chest, strong in body that’s well ribbed, firm strong back and well muscled rear angulation. Moved soundly in all directions. BOB.

1st Carty, Bernervalley Lord Of Isle, See BMD Graduate critique.

Tibetan Mastiff Open (2)

1st Nicoll, Method Man, 3 year old male, strong masculine head, well muscled neck, clean in shoulders that are well muscled , well boned and good feet, firm topline, pleasing rear angulation and movement was good in all directions.

2nd Nicoll, Bobby Digital, 3 year old male, broad head, good eye placement, good depth of chest, strong in body and well ribbed, would have preferred better feet which were slightly flat. Movement was sufficient today.

Boxer Open (6, 3A)

1st Lafferty & Lafferty, Jimbren Legacy Lives On Through Tauralord JW, 20 month old male, brindle male, masculine head of good proportions, good front with depth of chest, good bone and feet. Strong topline, good for body with ribs well sprung. Moved with purpose, reach and drive.

2nd Thomson & Thomson & Thomson & Spencer, Ashronsha Love Is In The Air At Latchkey, 6 month old female, Giving such a pleasing outline, feminine head with a gentle expression. good reach of neck, adequate depth of chest at this age, good bone, good overall balance in front and rear, moved soundly for her age.

AVNSC Working Graduate (3, 3A) 

1st O’Donnell, Kalaslane Irish Eyes At Neukiebear (IKC) Russian Black Terrier, 8 month old female, presented a beautiful outline and well developed for age. Good head, flat broad skull, dark eye, strong neck, depth of chest, good bone, good topline and pleasing rear angulations, presented with a good dense coat and moved so soundly. Best AVNSC and Best AVNSC Puppy and Working Puppy Group1

2nd Dunn, River Eki Balarda At Mullacaboo, Great Swiss Mountain Dog, 11 month old, balanced head, good almond eyes, well developed muscular neck, good front and rear proportions and moved well displaying reach behind.

AV Working Veteran (2)

1st Odonnell, IR Ch Kalaslane Revenge For Neukiebear (IKC) ,SHCEX VW, 8 year old female, I judged this exhibit previously in 2024 and she does not disappoint. Much of my critique still applies in many ways. Excellent head, good ear set, flat skull, dark eyes. Strong muscular neck and well developed front, plenty of bone, straight legs and good feet. Plenty of body, well sprung ribs, strong back and broad muscular hindquarters with a good turn of stifle and well laid hocks. Movement was excellent in all directions and covered the ground with ease. Well presented with a good dense coat. Please to see she was awarded Best Veteran In Show later in the day.

AVNSC Pastoral Graduate (3, 1A)

1st Stevenson & Stevenson, Peregos Lone Ranger, Catalan Sheepdog, 21 month male, There is much to like about this exhibit but would like to see a bit more presence, correct head proportions, dark eyes, decent length of neck, good front and rear angulation, adequate body length with good spring of rib. Gave an easy free flowing action on the move.

2nd Thomson & Foster, Fosterbrie Just Finesse, Briard, 20 month female, Pleasing feminine head with good width, darks eyes. Good front, straight legs and good bone and feet. Well ribbed with length of loin. Moved soundly.

AVNSC Pastoral Open (2, 1A)

1st Stevenson & Stevenson, Moasdileas Hen Broon, Catalan Sheepdog, 4 year old male, Masculine head, with good muzzle and jaw, dark eyes gave a good expression, adequate length of neck, well placed shoulders, depth of chest, well boned. Strong body, good spring of ribs and sufficient rear angulation. On the move I just preferred the movement in profile of his younger kennel mate, but overall movement was sound. 

Pastoral Group

1st Kempton, Art Of Blossom Drowned In Emotion Into Borderbrook JW (Imp Esp) Border Collie, 2 year old who just excels masculinity and gives a good balanced profile when standing. Super masculine head and not overdone, good dark eyes giving a wonderful expression, ears well placed, pleasing front with plenty of depth, good spring of ribs, strong topline, muscular rear angulation which was used in movement with a good driving action. Presented in wonderful coat and condition and cold not be denied the group today. 

2nd Ballantyne, Potterdale Prime N Proper For Bustroc Bearded Collie, Wonderful feminine head, broad and flat, such a gentle expression. Good length of neck, well placed shoulders, good front and forechest, sufficient bone and good feet. Overall good body proportions and movement was good and with little effort with tail carried correctly. Good breed exhibit.

3rd Pugh, MacKenzie & McTaggart, Northbay Xsells Cant B’leaf My I’s Australian Shepherd, 4 year old blue merle male with a good head with sufficient muzzle, well placed almond shaped eyes, well placed ears and gave a wonderful expression. Good reach of neck, shoulders well placed, good depth of chest and good bone overall. Pleasing in body with well sprung ribs. Moderate rear angulation, moved soundly in all directions and presented in good coat.

 4th Manson, Calwinii’s Aqua Bloom, Pembroke Corgi, Feminine head with good width between ears and a gentle expression with round eyes. Good reach of neck with good front and rear angulations, good body length with ribs well back. Movement was good with correct tail carriage maintained on the move.

Pastoral Puppy Group

1st Kempton, Borderbrook Special Dream, Border Collie, good head with a wonderful expression, well placed oval eyes, ears well set and well used, sufficient front angulation developing well, straight legs, good feet. Pleasing body, spring of ribs and good rear angulation. Moved so sound in all directions and it was the movement that won this puppy group today.

2nd Duncan, Frida De Maeluma At Ducannas, Bearded Collie, nicely developing and a lot to like, wonderful head and gentle expression. Good length of neck, well placed shoulders into good developing front, good spring of ribs, good rear angulation, turn of stifle, movement was light and sound. Presented with a good coat.

3rd Nicoll, Celtacastus Lilo, German Shepherd Dog, good head type with correct proportions, good length of neck, pleasing forechest, good bone, good topline well defined rear angulation moved soundly with drive from the rear.

AV Pastoral Veteran (7, 2A)

1st Gibb, Ch Snikkles Bluebeard At Pirateer JW SHCM SHCEX VW, Bearded Collie, 11 year old male, didn’t show his age and good to see, gave a stunning outline, such a masculine head with a good length of muzzle. Eye placement and colour gave a soft expression. Good reach of neck into pleasing front angulation with depth of chest and plenty of width. Strong topline, well ribbed and good loins. Good rear angulation and turn of stifle. Movement was effortless and tail carried correctly. In good coat and condition overall and a real credit to the owner.

2nd Shaw, Bramblecroft Reeba At Bluequarry VW, 8 year old female, and another exhibit which is a credit to the owner. Wonderful feminine head with correct wedge shape, ample width between ears that were well used and expressive. Good reach of neck, pleasing front, good bone. Correct body proportions, well sprung ribs and pleasing rear angulations. Good coat and condition, movement was correct and sound with tail well set and carried correctly. .

AV Pastoral Special Beginners

1st Simpson, Lamitone For The Drive At Applecreek RL2 EX, Australian Shepherd, 3 year old male, Good balanced head, dark eyes, well placed ears giving a good expression, good muscled front with a depth of chest, moderate bone and good feet. Good for body and well ribbed. Moderate rear angulation, straight hocks. Movement was good in all directions and gave a good picture in profile. Presented in good coat and condition.
