Bournemouth Canine Association

Good afternoon

Attached critique for the open show 6 August 2026.

On a blistering hot day in the beautiful area of the New Forest it was a pleasure to judge at Bournemouth open show.

Thankyou to the Committee for the invitation.

Thankyou to my steward who also endured the heat.

A special thankyou must go to an absolute gem of a lady who looked after us all in the judges reception.

Backstage folk are very hard to come by and societies must look after their Committee and helpers.

I believe her name was Janet? A tall lady with blonde curls. Thankyou.

Irish Setters

Puppy

Bryant Dazycutter Crownedbyfire. Head properties present a pleasing picture with stop, occiput and eyes in balance. At this stage of development a little more lay to shoulder is required to balance out her front and rear. Tail set well. Moved cleanly from rear. BP.

Junior

Prangle Heathclare Faberge. Stood alone in class. However she fully stood out in the challenge for BOB and I was very pleased that she gained gundog group 4 in a very large entry of 21.

Coming out of puppy classes is a big leap and she took it all in her lovely stride showing her reach and drive in the very large ring.

Her Coat shone so brightly showing off her construction and muscletone. Good to see true bone throughout. Dark eye that has a mischievous expression. Good turn of lip. Handling her head she has good stop, occipital and ear set. Correct mouth. Strength through neck into well laid shoulders. Deep through chest and has breastbone. Good strength throughout body. Balanced front and aft. She is a lovely youngster who enjoys moving in a big ring showing off!
