I was pleased to be asked to judge some of the hound breeds at this show. My thanks to the exhibitors and committee for making this day so enjoyable. 

Basset Griffon Vendeen ( Petit)

Puppy  1 

1)    Bartley, Erylan Astreas. A male of 9 months. A very smart eye catching puppy full of himself and happy. Lovely dark eye, correct ear placement and length. He has  good forearm angulation; length of body  maintains compact outline. Firm hindquarters. Moved very well . Lovely puppy that will surely have a bright future. BP

1)    Whiting. Glanbeuno Tout Seule. An exuberant 2 year old girl . Standing on good feet  she is well boned but feminine with correct depth of chest. Liked her body properties and firm hind quarters. She moved well at a steady pace showing herself proudly.

Open 2, 1A 

1)    Bartley. Ch Erylan Poseidon De La Mer. Handsome boy with a masculine head, well furnished, good eye shape and colour with correct ears. Well angulated fore and aft creating a balanced picture, well boned with large feet.  Liked his ear length and set. He has good muscular neck and a compact firm body . His hindquarters are nicely developed. He moved with purpose showing himself well. BOB.

1)    Donnelly. Sukeshi Tsarinaa Catherine, Three year old girl red and white in good coat, has a good neck and well laid shoulders, ribbing goes well back. Good hindquarters. Moved effortlessly to win this class .

2)    Wallace. Mischran Takoda. Also three years old, handsome  dog that also creates a lovely picture standing, with good bone. Has a lovely dark eye, good lay of shoulder,  well ribbed , with muscular hindquarters. Not quite as settled as 1.

1)    Williams. Eryri Efa, a beautiful girl of 3 years with some maturing still to do in my opinion. She stands on well knuckled feet, has good bone without being overdone. Pleasing head with good ears. She has the desired strength of neck leading to a well ribbed body and arched loin. Powerful hindquarters enabled her movement to be steady with a good length of stride. A lovely hound, again I would like to see her in a large ring. BOB.

1)    Bogart. Ch Sobers Kendrick At Incitatus ( Imp It )  A beautiful young dog with fine attributes. He is masculine but shows a gentle nature. Long skull , bright eye of coat colour. Has a long muscular neck flowing to correct forequarters. Depth of body give plenty of room for his slightly sprung ribs. Powerful over his loin and well developed hindquarters. A larger ring would have seen him move to greater advantage. 

Beautiful dog. I was so pleased to see him gain the Hound Group.

1)    Nossa. Kinabula Captain Pugwash. A well- made 10 month old dog with a good head , dark eye , good ears and a long strong neck. Pleasing front angulation, well boned dog with good feet. He has well sprung ribs and good loin. Liked his hindquarters that are well muscled. Moved well. BP

2)    Pritchard Jones. Affrhoda Amaryllis. An eight month old girl of correct size. Strong but feminine head with attractive eye and good ears. She has a strong neck that goes to good shoulders. She is well ribbed with a strong loin and well -shaped hindquarters.

3)    Fisher. Nyasharose  Rebel Rebel.

Post Grad 1

1)    Pritchard Jones. Mission Wild Wind of Luanda At Affrhoda. An upstanding dog with a dark muzzle complimenting his eye . Fine ears. A well boned dog with good feet. His strong neck goes to well- placed shoulders, deep ribs moderately sprung that flow to muscular firm loin. Liked his muscular hindquarters . Shows strength and balance when moving. BOB.

1)    Pritchard Jones Affrhoda Athiyyah . A mature girl of 5 years of good make and shape. She has a feminine head and good eye. Her neck is strong of correct length. Standing on tight feet with good bone . Well sprung ribs correct for depth of brisket which goes well back to strong loin. Well- developed hindquarters. Would like to see her in a big ring.
