Honley Show Society

Honley agricultural open show, 27th june. I would like to thank the officers and committee,for

inviting me to judge the Welsh Springer Spaniel classes and junior handling. I had a fantastic

day and was well looked after,with a lovely lunch provided.

WELSH SPRINGER SPANIEL

Puppy

Mcdonald’s,Kenaspire Fairy Dust.7mth bitch, compact though a little raw, showing a lot of

promise. Soft expression with a nice dark eye, correct dentition with moderately low ear set.

Leading onto a nice clean neck, tight elbows onto straight legs with good bone. Nice tight feet,

moved happily round the ring, showing a good outline. BP

Post Graduate (5,2ab)

1. Cochrane’s Eriandylis Confusion. 2yr bitch, compact in outline,balanced throughout, soft, kind

expression with a nice dark eye and plenty of chiseling below. Correct ear set, well muscled

neck, clean in throat. Set into nicely sloping shoulders, straight in front,tight elbows, well boned

legs onto nice tight feet.Good spring of ribs, giving good heart room. Muscular rear hind

quarters, moving with good rear drive round the ring, with a merry tail . RBOB

2. Bennion’s Menstonia Endless Dreams jw. 18mth dog, masculine head with good dark eye,

well chiselled below, moderately low set ears. Clean neck onto nicely slopping well muscled

shoulders . Good bone throughout well sprung ribs , in a lovely coat. Well set hindquarters with

deep second thigh, hocks well let down. Just didn't have movement of 1 today.

3. Tigerrock Hopes and Dreams for Crimicar.

1. Lewin’s ShCh Santallina Olympic Flame over Vynesbrook jw. 22mth bitch, compact and

balanced throughout, with the sweetest of expressions, dark eye, well chiselled below the eyes.

Muzzle of good length, with correct scissor bite. Muscular neck set on sloping shoulders, good

angulation fore and rear, straight forelegs with tight elbows and neat feet. Good spring of ribs

leading to a muscular and short loin. Strong hindquarters with well developed muscle, with deep

second thigh, hocks well let down. She used the ring to her advantage, in tune with her handler,

showing good reach and drive . BOB

Junior handling

6-11yr

1st Jacob Perfitt-Jones. 9yrs, fantastic handler with his dog at all times, handled with ease

precise in what he was doing, his experience showed throughout. Asked on some points of a

dog, all answered correctly. Showed correctly when being asked to show the bite. On the move

he used the full ring, keeping check where I stood moving at all times. BJH

2nd Hollie McDonald. 8yrs,another up and coming handler, used the ring well, watching where I

was, fully answered correctly on points of a dog, showing correct bite also. Did have a tad of

difficulty keeping her dog going, however it was hot and towards the end of the day
