Retriever (Golden)

Class 82 – Puppy Dog

1st – Copley’s Ashbyglen True Colours At Emmabe – a larger mature puppy at 9months old. Kind eye and nice expression with head still to mature. Good neck into a level topline. Nice forechest and good tight elbow. Short coupled with straight pasterns and good bend of stifle. Moved well with good drive.

2nd – Webb and Smith’s Waterbabies Walk Tall at Hectson (Imp ITA) – older puppy just shy of 1 year old, more mature head than 1 but longer coupled and less bend of stifle giving 1 the edge today. More unsettled on the move today but maintained level topline. Lovely neck and front. Presented in nice coat and condition.

3rd – Norris’ Fenpique Royal Rascal By Molestream

Class 83 – Junior Dog

1st – Smith’s Goldmarker Alderbaran - a young boy of 15months, caught my eye as he came into the ring and really enjoyed showing himself off. Nicely mature for age but not overdone. Lovely head into strong neck. Solid topline maintained on the move. Would prefer a little more front, short coupled with good rib. Strong tight feet and lovely rounded stifle into straight pasterns. Presented in lovely coat and condition, very animated on the move and had great drive and motion. Looks the epitome of a dog that could work in the field. Best Dog

2nd – Webb and Smith’s Waterbabies Walk Talk at Hectson (Imp ITA) – 2nd in Puppy.

3rd – Henson and Luckham’s Flyngalee Hunky Dory

Class 84 – Post Graduate Dog

1st – Smith’s Goldmarker Alderbaran – 1st in Junior

2nd – Foreman’s Ambersun Summer Son JW – two year old, unlucky to meet 1 today, a little unsettled on the move which affected his topline and not as well balanced as 1. Lovely neck and nice tight elbows, slightly lacking in front. Short coupled with good bend of stifle and rear angulation. Tail held a little high today but overall nice balance. Reserve Best Dog

3rd – Henson’s Cinderbank Move It JW

Class 85 – Limit Dog

1st – Smith’s Goldmarker Alderbaran – 1st in Junior

2nd – Archer’s Haydengold Just a Rumour at Sunandair JW – four year old, more mature than 1 and heavier in type. Presented in lovely coat. Not moving as well as 1 today. Tail a little high on the move and feet not as tight. Good balance and angulation present on front and back.

3rd – Hodges and Liggins’ Swanavly Popsy’s Legacy at Nunsbrook (Imp SRB)

Class 86 – Open Dog

1st – Hodges and Liggins’ Silver Passion Glam Fashion at Nunsbrook (Imp Deu) – more balanced of the two in the ring, longer in the loin and slightly lacking in front. Good tight elbow with straight forelegs. Good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Striding out well on the move. Tail a little on the high side today.

2nd – Copley’s Lalique Lord of the Rings at Hamcar – not moving aswell as 1 and losing his topline on the move. Heavier in type than 1. Lovely head and well coated in lovely condition. Not as well balanced but good angulation in front and rear.

Class 87 – Puppy Bitch

1st – Maltqudos Vanity Fayre – 10 months old and immediately notice a stunning topline maintained throughout the class. In lovely coat and condition. Lovely feminine head with kind eye and expression. Good reach of neck into well laid back shoulders. Sufficient front present for her age. Short coupled. A little straight in stifle affecting her angulation but well let down hocks and straight pastern. Slightly high tail set on the move. Best Puppy.

Class 88 – Junior Bitch

1st - Foreman’s Ambersun Winter Treasure – my favourite class of the day with 3 lovely bitches present making it very hard to choose. Lovely feminine bitch of 15months with lovely head and expression. Good reach of neck into straight legs and well laid back shoulders. Nice front and level topline. Slightly long coupled. Good rear angulation and strong movement. Reserve Best of Breed

2nd – Poile and Blackboro’s Cherrimar Electra – really caught my eye on entering the ring, just 12months and still some puppy features present appearing as slight immaturity compared to 1. Front angulation and balance slightly better in 1. Beautiful head and kind eye. Short coupled compared to 1. Moved really well with great golden exuberance and energy. Keen to watch her progress in the future.

3rd – Brown’s Louellabrook Love Star

Class 89 – Post Graduate Bitch

1st – Poile and Blackboro’s Cherrimar Electra – 2nd in Junior

2nd – Brown’s Louellabrook Love Star – tough to meet 1, wasn’t moving to her best today. Lovely head and expression. Well balanced with lovely topline. Longer in loin than 1 with good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Sufficient front. Presented in lovely coat and condition and well muscled throughout.

Class 90 – Limit Bitch

1st – Brown’s Louellabrook Love Star – 2nd in Post Graduate Bitch

Class 91 – Open Bitch

1st – Smith’s Goldmarker Luminess (AI) – stood alone in class but doesn’t take away the quality, lovely head and kind eye, lovely coat and condition with good muscling – definitely capable of a days work in the field. Good front with well laid back shoulders. Level topline maintained well on the move. Short coupled and lovely hind angulation with good bend of stifle and well let down hocks. . Pleased to see she was the dam of the best dog and can see the breed type shining through. Best of Breed
