My thanks to the officers and committee for the invitation to judge and for a very enjoyable afternoon.

The original plan was to judge the Giants outside, however the weather had other ideas. This meant that some of the dogs struggled a little in the limited space available for them to move in and this had to be taken into consideration when assessing.

1st Bowden & Brown’s Ch Khante Gin Fizz ShCM VW

I could not believe that this smart chap was 14 years old. He looked super and presented a clean and balanced picture. Slightly off square and robustly built. He has a masculine and well proportioned head with good furnishings and a large black nose. Intelligent expression and defined eyebrows. Strong neck which fitted neatly into shoulders, firm topline and strong loin. Well made front assembly with straight front and standing on neat feet. Moderate bend on stifle and enough width to thigh. Moved steadily and accurately holding his outline well. Best Dog.

1st Davies’ Agbelladon Constantine with Myrtlemagic

Presents a clean and balled outline in profile being just off square and correct height to length proportions. MAsculine head with a dark eye, would not want anymore strength to back skull at this stage. Strong arched neck and shoulders are well laid, still needs to develop in forechest and drop, which should come itch age. Firm and level topline with strong loin and well ribbed back. Good bend to the stifle and width to second thigh. Had good carriage, reach and drive in profile, just needs to firm up on the out and back as he matures. Well presented and correct harsh coat texture.

1st Hardy’s Kathleen Star Lord

Black of 3 years, squarely built and has good height to length ratios. Masculine head with flat skull, well placed ears, dark eye and intelligent expression. Good finish to the fore face and well furnished. Arched neck and enough lay of shoulder. Ribbed back, would like a shade more development to his forechest. Firm in loin and level topline. For me I would like a little more weight on him throughout. Good quarters with muscular development which showed in his movement which was true on the out and back and covered the ground well. Reserve Best Dog

1st Bowden & Brown’s Ch Amigris Ain’t Misbehavin at Khante

Feminine with the correct amount of substance. Her head is well proportioned with a flat skull, moderate stop, dark expressive eyes and good brows. She has strength to her fore face which is well furnished and a large nose. Arched neck and well placed shoulders with enough return of forearm. Depth to forechest and well ribbed back to a firm and compact loin giving her a level topline held throughout. Enough bend of stifle and good muscular development. On the move she placed her feet accurately on the out and back and covered the ground with ease and carriage. She is well presented and has a harsh jacket to complete the picture. Best Bitch and Best of Breed.

1st Houchin’s Ch Philoma Pay Back Time for Barnstable ShCM ShCEx VW.

I judged this older gentleman some years ago and it was a pleasure to see him again today, still full of attitude and fun and enjoying his day out. Squarely built and standing over plenty of ground. His head is masculine and well proportioned with good strength throughout without being coarse in any way. He has an arched neck and very well made front assembly, depth to his chest and is ribbed back. Held his outline throughout and correct finish to the croup and set on of his tail. Well bent stifles and width to the thigh. Moved out well and covered the ground, I felt he would have been even better if he was able to get into his stride more outside. Best Veteran.

1st Veals Philoma Houdini

I thought that this young chap was a very exciting prospect for the future if he continues to develop as he is. Young and still needing to fill his frame but has all of the essentials at this stage of his development. Constructionally I found him hard to fault, he still needs to tighten and come together on the move as he matures but that is expected at this stage. His character was playful and full of mischief and really enjoying his time in the ring. He covered the ground well in profile holding his shape and certainly had attitude and carriage. 1st Hoochin’s Ch Philoma Simon Templar at Barnsdale

Impressive chap who is all male without any hint of coarseness, just off square in build and presents a picture of power and stamina. Well proportioned head with flat skull, ears set on and used well, a dark eye giving an intelligent and inquisitive expression. Strength to the fore face, large teeth and big nose. Moderate reach of neck which fitted well into his shoulders. Good return of forearm and developed forechest. Ribbed back to a firm and compact loin. Width to his thighs and well made quarters. He moved with power and accuracy with carriage and style. Presented very well in his harsh jacket and good furnishings. Best Dog 

2nd Lowood-Price and ~Price’s Andreana Jagermeister 

 He presents a balanced and almost square picture in profile. Still young and needing to fill his frame a little he was giving some away on maturity and finish. HIs head is of good proportions with a dark eye and well placed ears. Good finish to the foreface which is well furnished. Arched neck and well made front assembly, still needing to tighten and settle on the move when coming towards. He has enough depth of chest for his age and is well ribbed back to a firm loin. Well developed quarters and moderate bend to his stifles. Excellent harsh jacket and well presented. He is a boy who would have benefitted outside today as he struggled to get into his stride in the smaller ring.

1st Every’s Philoma Beatriz

Typy, feline with the right amount of substance. Her head tapers from back skull to muzzle slightly as desired. He has dark expressive eyes with a hint of mischief. Large nose and well furnished muzzle. Good reach of neck, well made front assembly and depth to the forechest. Ribbed back to a firm loin giving a strong topline, slight slope to the croup. Quarters are well developed and enough bend to her stifles. Well presented, I would like leg furnishings a shade harsher if being critical. On the move she had carriage, covered the ground well and placed her feet accurately.  

2nd Prince’s Dayshaun Texas Cowgirl 

Very appealing head and expression being feminine and having the right amount of strength to it. Dark eyes give an intelligent expression. Clean through the neck and shoulders and enough return of forearm. Still needs to fully developed in body but has plenty of time. Moderate bend of stifle and muscular development coming on well. Had carriage in profile just not as tidy as Beatriz on the out and back today.

1st Griffin’s Ch Philoma When Harry Met Remy 

It was no surprise to me when I saw the catalogue, who this was, that I loved this girl, having given her the puppy group at SKC last year. It was a pleasure to see her as an adult, mature in full bloom and full of quality. She presents a balanced and typical outline combining robustness with femininity. Beautifully presented to complete the picture. Her head is balanced, has the correct width to skull and strength to foreface, with brush eyebrows and furnishings to the muzzle. Balanced angles both ends and this showed in her effortless and coordinated movement. Firm in topline, well ribbed back and strong loin. She was presented very well and really put in a super performance to take Best of Breed and BIS. 

2nd Ellis’ Ch Philoma Wicked JW

This girl has type, quality and attitude. I have seen her in the ring in the past and she did not disappoint when going over her. Very similar in make and shape to one. Well proportioned head with an intelligent expression, good furnishings and large nose. Arched muscular neck and well made front assembly. Firm in topline and well ribbed back, slightly more body than first today. Good finish to croup and tail set, wide thighs and correct amount of rear angulation. She was another who I thought would have benefitted from being outside as struggled a little to get into her stride in a smaller ring. I did see accurate and powerful movement.  

Best In Show - Ch Piloma When Harry Met Remy

Reserve Best in Show - Min Schnauzer Descere’s Amorevita Dark Horse.

Smart puppy dog of good make and shape, well proportioned head with strength to foreface. Compact and robust in outline and well angulated front and rear. Just needs to settle in front action but lots to like about him.  

Best Puppy in Show - Philoma Houdini

Best Veteran in Show - Min Schnauzer Parker, Saunders and McDonalds Ch Silversocks Shot in The Dark with Violis.

Typey and compact in outline, good substance without being overdone. Full of attitude and showmanship. Masculine well proportioned head with neat ears and a quizzical expression. Strong neck topline and rear, beautifully presented and drove around the ring with power and style.
