POLLARD CANINE SOCIETY - PREMIER OPEN SHOW

Held on:  Sunday 3RD May 2026

A lovely friendly show, which is configured around a Victorian Bandstand and very picturesque.  Just that the weather was not kind in-fact it was horrible. So well done to all those who stayed.  I fully appreciated that. Fortunately, my stewards were used to working outside in these conditions, and they were outside all day.  So many thanks to them.

Lancashire Heeler   -  Junior D/B (2,1), 1 Hughes, Mrs. P.F., Ribblespride Kruger J.W.: A 15mth old black & tan dog. He was of a good type with plenty of substance. Neat out-line with plenty of masculine attributes. He moved nicely about the ring, and there was plenty of goodies on the ground to put him off. But he handled that well and the uneven ring which put a few off. Pleased to award him Res. BOB.   Post Graduate D/B (4/0), 1 Lawrence, Mr. D. & Mrs. A., Foveaux China Girl J.W: A 19mth old black & tan bitch. She is of a pleasing type with a neat out-line and strong top-line which she kept on the move. Just missed out on the top spots. Liked her. Well done.  2 Bailey & Hancocks, Miss. L. & Mr. G., Parabar Pistachio: A 20mth old liver dog. Good size, solid dog with plenty of substance. Neat type and out-line and moved out ok.   3 Lawrence, Mr. D. & Mrs. A., Brinscall Moors Bertie: Dog.   4 Turnbull, Mrs. D., Droversrock Tigers Eye. Bitch.   Open D/B (3,0), 1 Hughes, Mrs. P.F., Poolheywood Barney J.W.: A 3yr old black & tan dog. Perhaps, just a tad longer than I would have liked, but he was so well put together. Kept his top-line on the move, and his tail set was spot on. He moved a dream, so I liked him a lot. Balanced all through. Pleased to award him BOB and Adult Grp 3. Well done.   2 Bailey & Hancocks, Miss. L. & Mr. G., Selestar Lemon Drizzle: A 22mth old black & tan bitch. That moved ok and was quite feminine, with a neat out-line and type. But lacked presence to 1st. Pity as she is not bad at all.   3 Lawrence, Mr. D. & Mrs. A., Hoscar Ellis’s Eddie SH.CEX: Dog. A 7yr old black & tan coming up the rear. But well worth mentioning. He is a pleasant type and out-line and moved well about the ring. Masculine and worthy of his place. Later also got 4th in AV Pastoral. Well done, very worthy.

Samoyed   -  Post Graduate D/B (2), 1 McGreade, Mr. P. & Mrs. D., Vandreem Imperial Ocean for Frostia: A bitch rising 1yr old the following day. This is a well grown bitch and of a lovely type and out-line. She stood out for me and moved really well for her age. Shown in good coat and pleased to award her BP., BOB and later Puppy Grp 4. Well done.   2 Naylor, Ms. K., Croftdougles Sassy Silleas at Karenshko: A 2yr. old bitch that was a little out of coat but has a nice shape. Just needs to settle on the move.   -  Open D/B (1,0), 1 Cornwell, Miss. S.M., Jewel Child Of Joy Orleansnow (Imp Cze): A 3yr bitch, very pleasing type and out-line. Very pleasing on the eye, in good coat, no issue giving her Res. BOB. She was not quite so smooth on the move. Blame the weather. As I liked her.

Norwegian Buhund  -  Open D/B (1), 1 Wheeler, Mr. O., Ch. Knytshall Thistle Ink It Up Koromandel J.W.: A 2yr old black bitch that stood alone in this class. Looking every bit a Champion. A very pleasing feminine girl. That moved really well about in a very bumpy ring. Super type and out-line. Pleased to award her BOB.

Bearded Collie   -  Junior D/B (1) 1 Jenkinson, Ms S., Tybury’s Arya’s Legend for Ellishar: 7mth old blue bitch. Nice size for age. Very typy and with a good out-line. Stood Alone in this class. But I still liked her. Pleased to award her BP, Res. BOB and Puppy Grp 2. Well done. A lovely little mover to boot.   Open D/B (1), 1 Jenkinson. Ms S., Irisaddition Victorious with Ellishar J.W.: A 3yr old bitch. Another blue, nice size, good type and out-line. Although she stood alone in this class she moved about the ring like she owned it. So, who am I to say no. Pleased to award her BOB and later Grp.2. Well done. I really liked her.

Catalan Sheepdog   -  Post Graduate D/B (6,3), 1 Adkin & Pickering, Miss T.L. & Mr. C.M, Bouvibear Rockefeller Gem: All from the same litter. Heading up the class was an 11mth old dog, and well grown he has good substance. Neat type and out-line. He has had some handling and training. So moved pretty well around the ring. Pleased to award him BP and BOB.  2 Adkin & Pickering, Miss T.L. & Mr. C.M, Bouvibear Isabella Emerald: A nice bitch, very feminine, typy with a good out-line. But requires training with firm handling. She is used to playing with her sibling.   3 Roberts, Mrs. T. & Mr. D., Bouvibear Emerald Banjo: Another dog from the litter. Just needs more training and filling out a bit more. But you will need to get on top of the training.   -  Open D/B (6,4), 1 Adkin & Pickering, Miss T.L. & Mr. C.M, Un AMI Falcor Del Somni Catala to Bouvibear (Imp Deu) Nld Jch: A 15mth old black dog. Just preferred the neck and front assembly of the puppy. Saying that this dog has a good head and body and rear. Nice coat with good break. Moved out ok. Pleased to award him Res. BOB. Thanks for bringing them all in such awful weather.   2 Roberts Mrs. T. & Mr. D., Hollybeck Purple Murri: A 6yr old fawn dog. Just let himself down on movement, which was a shame as he does not look a bad dog. He is typical for the breed.

Border Collie   -  Junior D/B (5,1), 1 Askey, Miss C., Piece Of Happiness Tornado at Petalnote: A 13mth old black & white dog. Well grown lad of a good type and out-line. Handled the ground well making it look easy moving around the ring. Pleased to award him Res.BOB.   2 Lea, Miss S., Jerseywood Love in the Dark: A 7mth old black & white bitch. Just beaten on maturity. She is of a very pleasing type and out-line. Moves freely and easily. Pleased to award her BP and Puppy Grp.3. Well done.   3 Lea, Miss S., Jerseywood Keep on Loving: Bitch.   4 Webb, Mrs. Y., Thwaitlake What I Want: Bitch.   -  Post Graduate D/B (5,3), 1 Lea, Miss S., Jerseywood Love in the Dark: Bitch As above.   2 Lea, Miss S., Jerseywood Keep on Loving: Bitch. As above. Litter sister to winner, not quite so heavily marked and not quite as mature as 1st. But she moved out ok. Would like to see her in 6mths time.   3 Porter, Miss J., Nashdom Idol: Dog.   -  Open D/B (2), 1 Webb. Mrs. Y., Borderbrook Fire and Flame, Sh.CEX: 6yr old black & white dog. A super type and out-line, very typical, masculine dog. Easy winner with his stance and moved easily around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB, well done.   2 Porter, Miss J., Kirkwind Shooting Star: An 8yr old black & white dog. Pleasing type and out-line. Nice temperament. Front not his fortune. However, the handler got the best out of him.

AV Imported Breed Register Pastoral   -  Open D/B (3,1), 1 Rogerson & Huntley, Miss L. & Mrs. J., Tin Tin Kopieccy Poland (Imp Pol.): Icelandic Sheepdog. Dog. Interesting breed. What I had in my head and what I had in front of me was a little different although both had many of the required features. I was expecting more substance and the over-all proportions to be slightly smaller. Both were up on the leg and squarer than expected.  -  1st is just coming out of puppy so still has developing to do. I liked his ear-set and eyes, muzzle looked good to me. Neck could have been longer, and front could have been better. Front ratio could be more. I like his pronounced wither. Tail set ok as with his rear angles and hocks. Double dew claws on rear and dew claws on front. He moved well. Pleased to award him BOB. Thank you for allowing me to judge him. (As my 1st time laying hands on one.)   -  2 Rogerson, Miss L., Sangilak Sigma Gianna Grimnirdottir Avec Nosregor: Icelandic Sheepdog. Bitch. Slightly older than 1st. Very feminine and not quite as settled as 1st. Just needs to settle more. Similar features to 1st, tail set not quite as good. Dewclaws to rear. None on the front. Liked her colouring. Res.BOB.

AVNSC Pastoral   -  Open D/B (1), 1 Davenport, Miss. L., Ch. Vegas V D Vaardekenshoeve (Imp Bel) JW: Belg. Shep. Dog – Malinois. A 3.5 yr old dog. Stood alone in this class and very nice as well. Gorgeous type and out-line. Well grown and takes your eye straight away, and very pleasing too. Moved easily around the ring with ease. Easy winner, well done.  BOB.

PASTORAL GROUP ADULTS   -  Group 1 – Miller, Ms. D.P., Ch. Mellowdee Fancy Nancy for Millwinkie J.W.: Old English Sheepdog, bitch – I make no bones about it. But I love this bitch, she is lovely, and I have said nice things about her before. She is cobby, feminine and in superb coat. She moved about the ring with drive. Well done.   -  Group 2 – Jenkinson Ms. S., Irisaddition Victorious with Ellishar J.W.: Bearded Collie, bitch – As Before.   -  Group 3 - Hughes, Mrs. P.F., Poolheywood Barney J.W.: Lancashire Heeler, dog – As before.   -  Group 4 - Rose, Miss E., Uffspring Ultravox for Coloratura: Collie Rough, bitch – A 6yr old tri coloured bitch in good coat. She is a pleasing type and out-line. Was handled and moved well about the ring with aplomb.

PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP   -  Group 1 – Bell, Mr. R., Mrs. J. & Miss S., Soulbobs Northern Soul Girl: Old English Sheepdog - bitch. What a sweetie. 6mths of age and taking everything in her stride. She is cobby and very typy with an excellent out-line. Handled to perfection, she has a very bright future.  -  Group 2 – Jenkinson, Ms. S., Tybury’s Arya’s Legend for Ellishar: Bearded Collie Bitch. As Before.  -  Group 3 – Askey, Miss C., Jerseywood Love In the Dark: Border Collie Bitch. As Before.  - Group 4 – McGreade, Mr. P. & Mrs. D., Vandreem Imperial Ocean for Frostia: Samoyed Bitch. As Before

AV Pastoral Veteran D/B   -  (8,2), 1 Savage, Mr. P.J. & Mrs. P., Willowthorn Kobalt Star by Savataurus J.W., VW, Sh.CEX., OSW., JCH., VCH., CVW26: An 8yr old b/m Shetland Sheepdog dog still in fabulous coat. Moved around the ring like a 2yr old. Well done.  - 2 Lawrence, Mr. D. & Mrs. A., Brinscall Moors Bertie: Lancashire Heeler Dog. As Before.   -  3 Ranshaw, Miss C., Reyakosa Calia: German Shepherd bitch.  -  4 Lawrence, Mr. D. & Mrs. A., Hoscar Ellis’s Eddie Sh.CEX: Lancashire Heeler Dog.

Pollard Canine Society - Puppy Dog Stakes  - 1st Jackson, Miss L.A. – Ruperb Bear Sunset - Dachshund (Min Long-Haired) Dog  - Very neat, nice type, good out-lime, lovely little mover.  -  2nd Thomas, Miss L.C. – Kelmorespitz Dark Magic – Tibetan Terrier Dog  -  Virtually black, nice out-line, neat type, moved well.   -  3rd Dronsfield, Miss E.G. & Mrs. G.M. – Vanitonia Spectre of Whitbraith - Spaniel (Clumber) Dog.   -  4th Rogerson, Miss L. – Nosregor Fallen Idol – German Spitz (Mittel) Dog.
