Spaniel (Irish Water)

My sincerest thanks to the Secretary and Committee for their invitation to judge here today. Thank you to my stewards who were absolutely fantastic, and of course, a huge thank you to the exhibitors for the pleasure of judging your lovely dogs.

Puppy (1, 0)

1. HACKETT & WILLIAMS’ FOULBY CHASING DREAMS – 11 month old bitch who presented with a lovely balanced feminine picture. Good size, proportions and outline. Level topline both while standing and on the move. Compact body with spring of rib developing. Feminine head, eyes the correct shape and colour, and a beautiful expression. Very well presented coat, rich and dark in colour with curls in abundance. Outgoing and happy disposition, moving freely with reach and drive, and good tail carriage. I loved her attitude in the ring and will be watching her career with interest. Best Of Breed and Best Puppy

Special Yearling (2, 0) 

1. HACKETT & WILLIAMS’ FOULBY STORM WARNING –11 month old dog who was certainly full of personality and on his toes today, making his handler work for it! Once settled, he presented with a pleasing overall picture both on the move and while standing. Masculine head, eyes the correct shape and colour, with a lovely expression. Good size with level topline and a developing spring of rib. Very well presented coat, rich and dark in colour with curls in abundance. He moved with reach and drive, and good tail carriage.

2. FOODY’S CURLYCO SIRIUS AT CAIRTEILA – 12 month old dog with a masculine head and expression. Eyes the correct shape and colour. Slightly longer in shape but still in proportion. Good natural coat which could be tighter in places. Unfortunately he was unsettled on the move which meant he did not show the reach and drive of 1.

1. FOODY’S CAIRTEILA LOOK AT ME NOW – 2.5 year old bitch with a feminine head and expression. Eyes the correct shape and colour. Long, low set ears. Slightly longer but still in proportion. Good spring of rib but needs to strengthen her topline. Good natural coat with curls in abundance. Moved soundly around the ring with good tail carriage.

1. MCCALLUM’S IR SH CH BOGBAIRNS DOWN THE RABS AT WEEMAES – 2 year old dog of good size and shape, showing a balanced outline with a good spring of rib and a level topline. Masculine head and expression, eyes the correct shape and colour. Good natural coat with curls in abundance. Happy disposition and moved soundly around the ring.
